Lumi

Lumi is a quest-exclusive NPC who appears in Linnea's Story Quest, Alcyon Chapter: Act I - Up! Toward Homecoming Wings.

In combat, Lumi assists Linnea when called upon by her Elemental Skill, Countermeasure: Lumi's Battle Cry!, and her Elemental Burst, Memo: Survival Guide in Extreme Conditions. When idling, Lumi resides in Linnea's backpack.

Profile

Lumi is a Jack Frost fae. Unlike other Jack Frosts, Lumi is unique in the sense that she has a more earthen appearance over her kind. Due to this difference, Lumi was bullied by her fellow kin for standing out, chasing her away from her sleeping spots and taking her food. In a desperate attempt to be accepted, Lumi found a cardboard box, cut some eyes out and painted the front blue. Lumi appears to understand human speech and communicates to others by saying variations of "Ya-ho."

Linnea would later discover Lumi and learned of her circumstances, eventually mustering the courage to ask her if she was willing to accompany her. Lumi agreed, and eagerly left her disguise at her old home at the Jack Frost Village, although it is implied that at least one Jack Frost was saddened by her departure. During their travels, Linnea discovered that Lumi was able to tolerate heat without issue, travelling to the deserts of Sumeru to investigate the Wenut.^[1] Lumi later ate a rare fossil that Linnea had scavenged from the seafloor, forcing Linnea to aggressively shake Lumi to force it out. She soon discovered that it was a Moon Wheel. Lumi watched the Moon Wheel with curiosity before Linnea decided to keep it as an ornament.^[2]

During the events of Linnea's Story Quest, Lumi participates in the Spirit Envoy Championship and befriends the Traveler's Tepetlisaur Whelp companion, Aguara. In a match against Celaeno and Haemus, Lumi grows to a gargantuan size and nearly crushes the two with her maces, but Linnea stops her at the last moment before she returns to normal. The unusual accumulation of Geo energy causes her to realize that Lumi's quirks came from eating earth-like objects, so she decided that they needed to find another Jack Frost with similar personalities and preferences to give her true company.

Appearance

Lumi possesses a unique body compared to others of her kind, being smaller and lacking a torso, but retaining their iconic chunky and fluffy-looking body. Due to her quirks for Geo, she has a more earthen appearance over other Jack Frosts, who have a blue tone to them. She has golden eyes with brown cheeks on a black face that shows two teeth-like protrusions at her mouth. She wears has a orange-yellow hat with a star on the top and a bowtie on her back. While Lumi floats, she has two stubby black feet underneath her body.

When in combat, Lumi uses dual maces to attack enemies with Geo.
