Macani is a historical character that appears in The Surprise That Awaits Us All! in Story Quest Sunspray Summer Resort: Part III.
Profile
Macani was the father of Bennett, husband of Aroni, and the captain of Tecpatl's Flintblades Adventure Team. A member of the Collective of Plenty, Macani was a young brash traveler who sought to find kindred spirits to form an adventure team. When he arrived in Masters of the Night-Wind, nobody took him seriously except for a curious young woman named Aroni. Admiring his courage, she decided to join him. Later on, they encountered their other companions Anja and Chaco and formed Tecpatl's Flintblades. For some time, they adventured from place to place, gathering many experiences and memories. Eventually, Macani and Aroni grew closer and bore a child, and they decided to retire and raise him.
However, before the group truly disbanded, Anja suggested they go on one last journey, and thus the Tecpatl's Flintblades journeyed to Tenochtzitoc. One day, their camp was attacked by the Abyss. Despite their best efforts to fend the Abyss, all of them perished, save for their child who was protected by Aroni. Macani, Anja, and Chaco then joined Aroni's prayer to protect the child and keep him alive, sacrificing their form and memories. As a result, Macani lost all of his memories and transformed into an Asha.
During the events of Sunspray Summer Resort, Macani appeared to his son in his Asha form, instinctively drawn to him despite his missing memories of him, and proceeded to befriend Bennett and accompany him throughout his vacation. He and Aroni later came to save and protect Bennett when the latter passed out within Mare Jivari. After Venti's divine intervention, Macani was able to recover his memories and assumed his appearance from when he was alive. He joined the grand opening for Easybreeze Holiday Resort and afterwards was able to spend some time with his wife and son. Eventually when dawn broke, his time as spirit came to and end, and satisfied by encountering and seeing Bennett growing up well, Macani was able to move on peacefully.
Appearance
Macani is an adult man with light tan skin and green eyes. He has short brown hair with long bangs swept to his left side and a prominent ahoge. Macani wears one of the common outfits for Collective of Plenty's male warriors, albeit he has a unique golden belt buckle and wears a red bandana. As an Asha, he has a notable protrusion curving above his head resembling his ahoge, and he wears his unique bandana and belt from when he was alive.

Etymology
- Macani is a Nahuatl word usually meaning "merchant, the one give who gives." Example of this can be found in words like namacani meaning "merchant;" or tetonal-macani meaning "the one who provides the tonalli to the people."
