Part III - The Surprise That Awaits Us All!

After resting, the group meet up with Ukucha to claim their prize for completing all four challenges. They chat, with Venti jokingly claiming that he hears the Aphimead calling his name and Bennett recalling his and his Asha friend's arm-wrestling contest the night before, which he feels guilty for due to their difference in size. When the group checks the album of pictures taken in the different challenges, they're alarmed to discover that the pictures have become blurry, and the final picture is of an unknown group of four people with outfits matching four tribes.

Bennett claims they're the Tecpatl's Flintblades Adventure Team, a famed group who retired when two members had a baby. Chasca says she knows where the location is, and they plan to go there. Bennett asks Ukucha to look after his Asha friend while they're gone, but his Asha friend is missing, to Bennett's dismay. They decide to go to the area, hoping they'll find the Asha.

While they're searching for Bennett's Asha, Bennett hears a voice calling out to him and discovers a rift entrance to a domain. Bennett explains that though he understands the danger, he believes that the answers he's been searching for, including the reason for the mysterious pictures, can be found inside the domain. Paimon expresses concern, but is ultimately convinced as long as he shares any treasure at the end. Bennett wishes to go alone due to not wanting to put others in danger, but Chasca, Mualani, and Venti insist on accompanying him in camaraderie.

The group enters a fiery land with dusty winds and constant lightning. Mualani feels like her lungs are being compressed, and Chasca notes that there's an Abyssal presence. They notice Bennett is somehow separated, and they begin searching for him. Bennett, who is above them in a higher altitude area, feels a strange sense of familiarity with the domain, and his constellation is visible in the darkened sky.

Bennett panics as he realizes he's separated from the others, and experiences coughing, cold sweats, and a quickening heartbeat. Despite the pain and feeling like he's going to pass out, he tries to find and help the others. Meanwhile, the rest of the group is continuing forward, and the domain gets increasingly dangerous. Paimon struggles to fly against the strong winds and asks Venti if he's sure Bennett is up ahead. Venti says he is certain, and that "fate has drawn him back to this place" for a "trial he must overcome" but cannot overcome alone. As they continue to struggle, Venti plays his lyre and creates a protective wind dome around them.

A "Voice That Echoes" (The Abyss) speaks telepathically to Bennett and expresses contempt that Bennett cheated death, mocking Bennett and the Tecpatl's Flintblades, two of which are revealed to be Bennett's parents. The Voice tells Bennett to embrace his inescapable doom while Bennett sees two humanoid figures in the distance, then passes out. The rest of the group finally find Bennett, surrounded by a rainbow-tinted shield and two Asha, including Bennett's friend. Venti urgently requests a light to guide Bennett, and the group each hold a candle and pray. The prayer ends with Venti using a divine ability.

A memory plays of Bennett's parents and the rest of the Tecpatl's Flintblades, narrated by his mother who reminisces fondly on his smile and how he sensed the love around him. While in the Mare Jivari, Abyssal monsters attacked the adventurers, and she stayed behind in order to save him, now wishing to see his smile one last time. Bennett wakes up to see the spirits of his parents and tearfully hugs them, asking if this is a dream. Venti says they should continue the conversation outside the domain.

Once outside, Bennett tells his parents of his dads in Mondstadt, the Adventurers who raised him and gave him the name Bennett, which means "Blessed". His parents express how proud they are of the person he has become and that they're glad he's surrounded by people who love him. Bennett's mother, Aroni, fixes the blurred album and explains that she and Macani lost their memories as Asha and only had their instincts, and she had followed them around and taken pictures. The topic comes up about where Bennett should stay, since he's from Natlan. Bennett continues the heartfelt conversation with his parents, which Venti accompanies with a poem. Rhythmos approaches them and reminds them of the grand opening of Tete Isle which is about to begin.

They go to the grand opening, with the Traveler serving as the DJ. As everyone becomes involved in the festival, Mavuika enters the stage from above, and the other Natlan characters form a band behind her. Bennett, in the crowd with Venti, is pulled to the stage by his parents as Asha, encouraged by the Traveler calling him their "Lucky Star".

Later that night, Bennett sits on the beach with his parents. Macani notes the good friends Bennett has around him, and Bennett asks him if they can talk a little more. Macani tells him his team will look to him for guidance one day, and he should not lose sight of the bigger picture or forget his loved ones, like his dads in Mondstadt. He says that Tecpatl's Flintblades had embodied the idea of passing a torch, but after Bennett was born, their motivations changed, and they realized what they wanted was for Bennett to forge his own path. Finally, he says to trust in himself and that he is their "Lucky Star" and will always have their support.

Bennett becomes emotional due to this speech, which Aroni gently chides Macani for. Aroni tells Bennett she always knew he could overcome any obstacle, as he had his father's courage and her curiosity. Bennett, despite his tears, says that he is smiling, and asks if it's time for them to leave. Once they disappear, the Traveler and Paimon approach Bennett to comfort him, and he says his parents are now at peace.

Part IV - A Curtain Call for a Colorful Summer Night!

The morning after the Tete Isle opening ceremony, the group meets up at the resort. After spraypainting their portions of the resort building, they decide to take a picture. Mualani notices their lack of bed hair, and attributes noticing details to being a guide. Venti attributes drinking to being a bard, to Paimon's annoyance, though the Traveler calls it talking nonsense as friends. Mualani gives the Traveler a souvenir headpiece, and they almost take the picture but are interrupted by Paimon, who doesn't want the vacation to end. Bennett reassures her that summer will come again and that their paths will cross, and they take the picture, saying "Lucky star!"

Over dinner, the group brings up Bennett's future plans again. He says that he talked to Mavuika and she told him the domain was an Abyssal simulation of the Mare Jivari, and she respected whatever decision he made. In the end, he decided to stay in Mondstadt, and would tell his dads about his adventures. Even though his luck would worsen again when far away from the Natlan leylines, the warmth and kindness during the summer adventure made him ready to face any challenge. The group toasts to Bennett as their leader.

After the party winds down, Venti invites the Traveler and Paimon on a walk. He takes them to a cliff overlooking Natlan, which Paimon admits is a good view. Venti tells them about the Ruler of Time, Istaroth, and her omnipresence. Venti once encountered her at the Thousand Winds Temple and she gave him some of her power and authority. Venti solemnly explains that this story about "Time" is a prologue to another story about the Mare Jivari.

Venti explains the corruption of the Mare Jivari is also tied to Time itself. 500 years ago, to prevent the corruption from spreading, Venti blew the Mare Jivari into another timeline, turning it into the "Windless Land". Some of the souls could not escape or return to Mondstadt, and others merged with Monetoos to become Asha. Alerted by the signal of the candles, Mavuika opened a rift between the simulated and the real Mare Jivari, which Venti used to bring back the souls. Venti also brought Bennett the memory of his parents, which Venti says he has done before.

Venti admits the feat had left him tired for days, but that he's looking forward to more Aphimead and Dandelion Wine, which Paimon refuses to pay for. The Traveler asks Venti what he wishes for now, and Venti says it is to protect Mondstadt and that the citizens have the freedom to forge their own paths.

• This is the first Event Story Quest to be permanent, whereas Archon Quest Interlude Chapter: Act II - Perilous Trail was the first Archon Quest to be released as part of an event.
• This quest does not appear in the Archive > Travel Log / Story Quests.
• Players who haven't reached Archon Quest at Natlan can conduct the World Quest Lost In The Woods without entering Tequemecan Valley while exploring during the Sunspray Summer Resort event.
