Nikita
Last updated 2026-09-07
Nikita is an open-world NPC who appears in the World Quest Series Nightingale's Song. He can be found at the great mead hall in Piramida after completing The Last Night, the First Light.
He is the current Starshyna (leader) of the Lightkeepers.[2]
Location
Profile
Nikita rose to the position of Starshyna after his predecessor, Sigurd, fell in battle about a decade ago.[3][4] Not long afterwards, he took in a young Illuga after his village was ravaged by the Wild Hunt.[5] Illuga came to consider Nikita his adoptive father, and the two remain close to this day.[6][7]
Nikita is deeply respected and trusted as a leader. He is meticulous, perceptive, and even-handed, working to ensure that his people remain in good health and never demanding of them what he would not do himself.[8] He also has a knack for inspiring others and fostering their unique strengths, sometimes via subtle maneuvers, such as when he had Flins pretend to lose at cards to build Olav's confidence and encourage him to become a squad leader.[5][6]
He is aware of Flins's fae nature and his past as a noble, and treats him as a trusted collaborator and confidant.[6]
Appearance
Nikita is a pale middle-aged man with a strong build and medium long dark-grey hair and beard. He wears a modified Lightkeeper uniform. It consists of a long coat, trousers, gray knee-high boots and a glove on the left hand. The uniform is mainly purple and black and adorned with silver ornaments. Additionally, he wears a black ushanka and a special brooch on his left lapel, indicating his rank as Starshyna.

Stay alert...
- "A Ratnik must always stay alert for any unusual movements."
Dialogue
Available after completing The Last Night, the First Light.
- Nikita: A Ratnik must always stay alert for any unusual movements.
About the Lightkeepers...
- Nikita: The Lightkeepers were established to safeguard the freedom and peace of Nod-Krai. It was five hundred years ago that the Torchforger brought the first of the group together.
- Nikita: That said, there were moments over the years when it seemed we might fade into history. Our troop strength has, in turn, been rebuilt time and again.
- Nikita: But no matter what, as long as the light that symbolizes our will is not extinguished, we shall be reborn in flame anew.
About Piramida...
- Nikita: Piramida is where we Lightkeepers are headquartered. Legend holds that it was founded by our first Starshyna, Solovei the Torchforger.
- Nikita: And before that, this was once the palace of the fae governor of Nod-Krai. In fact, you can still see the coat of arms from that era on the stone walls of the foundations.
- Nikita: If the stories are true, who knows, you might even uncover the fae governor's buried treasure.
I'd never have guessed that you're the Starshyna...
- Nikita: Why, were you expecting an agile, fearless warrior instead of an old man like me?
- Nikita: The Starshyna who came before me would have lived up to your expectations far better. I once fought by his side...
- Nikita: But I do not possess the strength he had. The Lightkeepers are also no longer what they once were, which is why we must exercise extra caution in everything we do.
Goodbye.
- Nikita: I shan't walk you out. Let us meet again.

Trivia
Etymology
- Nikita (Russian: Ники́та) is a common name in Eastern Europe and Greece.
- Many Lightkeepers will wear either gloves on both hands, or a glove on their right hand while keeping the other bare or covered with a bandage. Nikita has one glove on his left hand and keeps the right hand uncovered. This trait is shared by Anleifr.
- Nikita's model does not have a lantern, a trait that is shared with other non-combatant Lightkeepers such as Hertta, Inga, and Ivar. This could indicate he no longer takes on a combat role.
