Prokhor Trubetskoy

Prokhor Trubetskoy (Russian: Трубецкой Trubetskoy) was a Snowland Fae Grand Duke who served as the Governor of Nod-Krai before the Cataclysm.[2][2][Note 1] His adoptive son, Brahe, was the third person to take up the "Reed Miller" name.[1]
Profile
During his tenure as Governor of Nod-Krai, Trubetskoy was based in modern-day Voidsea Outlook. The Lightkeepers' base, Piramida, is built upon the foundations of his former palace.[3] He had an adoptive son named Brahe, whom some speculated was actually his illegitimate child.[1]
Trubetskoy's greedy, self-serving nature made him an unpopular figure. When Brahe was five years old, Avrelian and Solovei tricked the boy into revealing Trubetskoy's hidden treasure stash at Bounty Island and robbed it all to give to the poor.[1] However, Trubetskoy regained all that lost wealth and more within three days, while Brahe was punished and was denied his vacation to Petrichor. Brahe further lamented that Trubetskoy's cunning only extended to matters related to wealth; the fae duke never suspected that Rotwang was using him.[4]
Several years later, after Avrelian was executed as the first Reed Miller, his follower Alia adopted the alias for herself and took control of the Treasure Hoarders. Her biggest contribution to the Reed Miller legend was the complete robbery of Trubetskoy's palace; it was during this event that Brahe first encountered her and fell in love at first sight. Alia later sacrificed herself to stop Rotwang from using the Sampo Mill, after which Brahe abandoned his noble identity and took up the Reed Miller name.[1]
About a decade after Alia's death, having witnessed people misuse the Reed Miller name and misappropriate Avrelian and Alia's ideals, Brahe decided to falsify the Reed Miller legacy so that "anyone who commits evil in our name will never be mistaken for a serious idealist." One layer of falsification was the legend of the Proofs of the Cognoscenti and the "Great Treasure," which Brahe set up on Bounty Island.[4] Brahe spread false tales about how "the new Grand Duke Trubetskoy" (namely, himself) tried but failed to find the treasure, which implies that the senior Trubetskoy was deceased by this time.[5]
Euphrosiniya, the current head of the House of Trubetskoy, confirms that Trubetskoy died while fighing alongside the Belyi Tsar.[6]

Etymology
- The Trubetskoy family is a Russian gentry family of Ruthenian stock and Lithuanian origin, like many other princely houses of Grand Duchy of Lithuania, later prominent in Russian history, science, and arts.
