Dialogue
You learn Columbina's location through the terminal at The Eye of Ibni-Belum. She might be at the next facility...
- (Approach the High-Speed Transit Lane)
Ungien's Circle
- (Enter the High-Speed Transit Lane)
- Paimon: Whoa! High-speed transit lane, here we go!
- Paimon: It's so fast!
- (Upon seeing a huge creature in the distance)
- Paimon: Huh? What's that huge thing in the distance?
- Paimon: It looks like a giant kuuhenki! Do you think it's some sort of... Mega Kuuhenki?
- Paimon: Eggie, do you know what that is?
- Eggie: Perhaps it's some variant species... created by Ungien's Circle...
- Paimon: The Ungi-Ungi Circle can do that? That's wild!
- Paimon: Do you guys see that? Is that an antenna sticking up over there? It's so tall, it reaches all the way past the sky!
- Paimon: Looks like it all starts from that crater thing over there...
- Eggie: That's Ungien's Circle... the home of life...
- Paimon: Looks mighty empty for a home of life!
- Eggie: That is because Paimon's eyes... have been deceived...
- Eggie: You'll see once we're inside...
- (Exit the High-Speed Transit Lane)
- Paimon: Is this our stop? The Ungi-Ungi Circle should be just up ahead, right?
- Paimon: Looks like we'll have to walk the rest of the way ourselves.
- (Approach the Teleport Waypoint north of the Transit Station)
- Paimon: Whoa! Eggie, there's someone here who looks just like you, except she's wearing a hat! You don't happen to know each other, do ya?
- Paimon: Y'know what, let's go help her, quick!
- (After defeating the enemy)
- Paimon: It looks like they're talking to each other!
- Paimon: You're back, Eggie! So, how'd it go? What did you guys talk about?
- Eggie: She said... she saw a girl... who walks like she's floating...
- Paimon: That must be Columbina! When did this happen?
- Eggie: It was a few days ago... That giant creature we just saw... was beside her...
- Paimon: The Mega Kuuhenki? With Columbina?
- Paimon: That means she must still be here! She hasn't left yet! C'mon, let's hurry inside and take a look.
- Eggie: Hmm... Let's follow the giant lifeform first... It will lead us into Ungien's Circle.
- (Approach the entrance to Ungien's Circle)
- Paimon: Paimon thinks she hears chirping... Could there be little birds inside?
- (Approach the kuuhenki)
- (A veil splits open revealing a vast landscape with red grass and trees)
-
- (The camera focuses on a tree in the middle with blue circuits and a tall structure coming out from it)
- (The camera moves up to show the structure exiting the area at the top through a dark hole and the Mega Kuuhenki flying by)
- Paimon: Whoa, Paimon suddenly felt like a ton of bricks the moment she flew in here!
- Paimon: But this place sure is pretty... There's even other kuuhenki like Eggie here. It's teeming with way more life than Paimon thought...
- Eggie: Yes... Ungien's Circle is... the realm of life.
- Paimon: But why couldn't we see them from the outside?
This place doesn't look like it formed naturally...- Paimon: You mean someone built this place? ...Was it that Ungi-Ungi guy?
We'll probably find out when we find that terminal.- Eggie: We should follow them...
- Paimon: Oh! Eggie's buddies are leading the way! Quick, after 'em!
- (Approach the area with the Terminal)
- Paimon: Look, the terminal's over there! But what are all those things surrounding it?
- Paimon: Looks like they've sealed off the terminal... Let's try clearing them out.
- (Defeat the enemy)
- (Tooltip)
- Try using Archaeolune Ripples to clear the vines
- (Attempt to clear the vines)
- Paimon: Can't we get rid of 'em?
- Eggie: These are Knotted Moonlight Vines... I've seen information about them in the terminals...
- Eggie: I can show you how to clear them out...
- Paimon: Huh? What did you do, Eggie?
- (A tutorial appears)
- Let's try that again...
- (Tooltip)
- Press or hold Moonlight Dashes to destroy Moonlight Vines
- (After destroying the vines using Moonlight Dash)
- Paimon: Success! The terminal should be working now.
- Paimon: Come try it out, Eggie!
- Eggie: Hmm...
- (The Map is opened and focuses on the current location)
- Eggie: I activated the terminal... but... much of the data is missing...
- Paimon: Huh? Did those vines from earlier break something?
- Eggie: Knotted Moonlight Vines... They grow in places where the ancient moon's power has been thrown into turmoil... perhaps that's why...
Is there any useful information?- Eggie: There's a damaged engineering blueprint here...
- Paimon: Oh! ...Ugh, you can barely make it out now...
- Paimon: So, any news about Columbina?
- Eggie: The terminal shows... that a young girl entered this place... accompanied by a giant flying creature...
- Paimon: That matches what your buddies said!
- Paimon: Look! There's that Mega Kuuhenki again! And it's flying up that big tree...
Odds are that Columbina is over there.- Paimon: Let's hope you're right! Come on. Next stop, that tree!
- (Approach the marked location)
- Paimon: Now that we're looking at it up close, this tree's so big, it's more like a wall.
- Paimon: But what's that shiny thing up there?
- (The camera focuses on the door up ahead)
- Paimon: Look! There's a door over there!
- (Check the Edict Module, optional)
- ← Transport Route Space Lifeform Capture Station →
- (Approach the door)
- Paimon: Looks like the door won't open... but there's a crack! Let's see what's inside!
- (Observe the gap in the door)
Look Left- Paimon: Ooh! There's a door to the left of the pavilion! Seems like a back door... and where there's a back door, there's gotta be a path! Let's find it!
Look at the Middle- Paimon: There's a little pavilion in the middle with these really tall struts on top... Could that be the antenna setup we saw earlier?
Look Right- Paimon: Nothing interesting on the right.
- (Approach the back door)
- Security check in progress. Unidentified lifeforms detected.
- Paimon: Oh no, we're trapped!
- (Tooltip)
- Use Archaeolune Ripples to open the barrier
- (Open the Archaeolune Energy Barrier)
- Paimon: Now that we're inside, this place sure looks like an elevator... It should be able to take us to the top, right?
- Paimon: The Mega Kuuhenki flew up there earlier. That means we might find Columbina there!
- (Attempt to activate the lift)
Start- (The lift begins to ascend but falls down abruptly)
- Insufficient energy detected. Skymount startup failed. Please check the power system.
- Paimon: Huh? "Skymount" must mean this elevator, right? Looks like they're really struggling for energy up here on the moon...
- Paimon: We need to find out where we can get some more.
- (Approach the stairs leading downwards)
- Paimon: Look! Is that a path over there? Maybe we should check it out?
- (Go down the stairs)
- (Interact with the indicated spot in front of the huge window, optional)
Observe- Paimon: This looks like a pipe for powering the elevator, huh? It seems to be in pretty bad shape, but at least that means we're heading in the right direction.
- (Approach the Terminal)
- Paimon: Well, whaddya know? There's another terminal here! And there aren't any Moonlight Vines nearby, either. Talk about a pleasant surprise.
- Paimon: Eggie, come give this one a try. Let's see if it works!
- Eggie: Alright...
- Terminal activated. Reading relevant information...
- (The Map opens and focuses on a lower level)
- Paimon: Paimon has a feeling we're gonna find some unexpected intel this time!
- Eggie: Found it... a complete engineering blueprint...
- Paimon: Wow, this one looks fresh off the press... Let Paimon take a closer look...
- Paimon: Huh. That stuff on the left looks just like the Ungi-Ungi Ring from the outside, but what are those two things on the right?
- Eggie: The diagram in the bottom right... That's the power hub for the entire facility... It's located underground...
- Paimon: Great! Looks like that's our destination... So what's this one in the top right?
- Eggie: It's the destination of the Skymount we just rode... the Space Lifeform Capture Station...
- Paimon: Space Lifeform Capture Station...!? Did Paimon hear that right?
- Eggie: Hmm... overall... this complex is... composed of the Ungien Biosphere and the Space Lifeform Capture Station...
- Eggie: Its designer was named... Ungien... a researcher in the field of life sciences...
- Eggie: He believed that among the stars... live many mysterious creatures we haven't discovered...
- Paimon: Do... those kinds of creatures really exist? Why did he want to capture them?
- Eggie: Because he wanted to overturn... Ibni-Belum's theory...
- Eggie: He believed that the deep-space signal received by the dragons... was not a message their king had sent back... but rather it came from some mysterious creature from beyond the stars...
- Paimon: So it all comes back to that signal...
- Eggie: Yes... To that end, he built the capture station in the space above Ungien's Circle...
- Paimon: What a crazy idea! So, was it a success?
- Eggie: I haven't found any relevant records...
We might find more intel at the capture station.- Paimon: Makes sense. First off, though, we have to solve our power problem...
- Paimon: The blueprints say the power system's underground, so let's get moving!
- (A door opens)
Pioneer Source Structure: Command: Begin... engine maintenance...
- (Go through the door and approach the red Edict Module)
- Archaeolune Storm Hotspot
- (Tooltip)
- Use Archaeolune Ripples to open the barrier
- (Open the Archaeolune Energy Barrier and jump down)
- Paimon: What's going on out there?
- Eggie: The terminal records... a sea of highly concentrated ancient moon energy beneath Ungien's Circle... It provides power to the entire facility...
- Eggie: But... the leakage of this highly concentrated energy can cause storms... that will harm living beings...
- Eggie: But don't worry... this occlusion field can temporarily hold the storms back... so long as we don't exit the generator's range...
- (Activate the lift)
- (The lift rides down passing through Maagees's Greenhouse)
- Paimon: Huh? Is that an underground forest over there...? Now Paimon's seen everything...
- Paimon: Are we still going down? How deep does this go...
- Paimon: Well, the deeper the roots go, the taller the tree grows!
- Paimon: That's gotta mean that the capture station was built super, duper high up.
- Paimon: Paimon's getting real curious... Did the dragons manage to capture any mysterious space creatures?
- (Arrive at Ungien's Circle: Power Engine)
Pioneer Source Structure: Command: Begin... engine maintenance...
- (Activate the terminal)
Activate self-maintenance- Turbine 1 autodiagnostic: Operations nominal
- Turbine 2 autodiagnostic: 2 malfunctions detected
- Turbine 3 autodiagnostic: 1 malfunction detected
- Turbine 4 autodiagnostic: 4 malfunctions detected
- Archaeolune Storm Occlusion Field activated. Please proceed to the malfunction points for maintenance.
- (A tutorial appears)
- Ungien's Circle: Power Engine
A giant device that powers Ungien's Circle and which in turn draws its energy from the sea of Archaeolune Energy below ground. This is the culmination of the knowledge acquired by the ancient dragon researchers. Now, however, extensive repairs may be needed to restore its former luster.
- (Clear the second turbine)
- Turbine 2 repaired
- (Clear the third turbine)
- Turbine 3 repaired
- Paimon: The storm's raging out there! We've gotta get close to the next occlusion field before we jump.
- (Approach the next Storm Occlusion Field)
- Paimon: Now's our chance!
- (Clear the following four Knotted Moonlight Vines)
- Paimon: Is that all of them? Why has nothing changed?
- Eggie: There's a terminal over there... We can use it to reboot the power system, I think.
- (Approach the Terminal)
- Paimon: Ooh? That's a terminal, alright! We'll leave this to you, Eggie.
- (The camera focuses on the fourth turbine)
- Turbine 4 repaired
- Paimon: Waah! Monsters! Look sharp, (Traveler) — we gotta protect Eggie while she reads the terminal!
- (Tooltip)
- Use Archaeolune Ripples to open the barrier and create a trap that makes enemies fall
- (A tutorial appears)
- Archaeolune Energy Barrier
A barrier that operates based on Archaeolune Energy. Therefore, you can open it using Archaeolune Ripples. Open gates will be restored to their former state in time. Sometimes, you can even open up a hole to cause monsters to fall through.
- (If the monsters defeat Eggie)
- Eggie fell under the monsters' assault...
- (After defeating the enemies)
- Paimon: Eggie, (Traveler)'s beaten those monsters! How are things on your end?
- Eggie: This is... Project Moongazer...
- Paimon: Huh? Is that recorded in this one, too?
What does the terminal say?- Eggie: Nothing about the project... but there's a supplementary note...
- Eggie: "To my mentors, Ungien and his beloved Maagees-Geti — your contributions to Project Moongazer shall not be forgotten."
- Paimon: Sounds like something an Akademiya student would write...
- Paimon: "To Mr. Alhaitham — thank you for your contributions to Paimon's studies," or something like that...
You've written a thank-you message before, Paimon?- Paimon: Paimon saw one on Alhaitham's desk! One of his students must have written it.
Then who left this message?- Eggie: That's all it says... There are no further records...
- Paimon: Paimon was hoping for more than that... Oh well. What about the power system?
- Eggie: It's fixed... I'm activating it now...
- Paimon: Oh! It worked!
- Paimon: Uh oh... Those big wheels are spinning so fast, they might suck us in! We gotta skedaddle — now!
- The power turbines are restarting
- Please leave the facility promptly and return to the safe area
- (If the player does not get out in under 500 seconds or gets hit by the turbines)
-
- Failed to escape the power engine...
- (Ride the elevator)
- Malfunction detected. Please proceed to the emergency passage to exit the facility.
- Paimon: Oh, come on! The elevator's broken again!?
- Eggie: Over there... We'll go through the emergency passage...
- (Approach the turbines)
- Paimon: Are we really going to go this way? (Traveler), be careful...!
- Paimon: As long as we get to the top floor, we should be safe!
- (Tooltip)
- Jump to avoid the dangerous turbines
- (The monsters get squashed by the turbines)
- Paimon: Whoa, the big wheels sent those monsters flying! We should definitely make sure not to touch those.
- (After some time has passed)
- Paimon: Oh no! The wheels are speeding up again!
- (Jump to the upper platform)
- (A part of the path collapses and forms a ramp to the upper level)
- Paimon: Whoa! Eyes up, look out!
- Paimon: Huh. Talk about a lucky break. This makes getting up top so much easier!
- (Continue onward and encounter several Precursor's Secret Source Matrix of Overseer Network)
- Paimon: So many monsters... but never mind them. Those wheels are coming in hot!
- (A part of the path collapses again)
- Paimon: Ugh, not again! We gotta move fast, this place is falling apart!
- (The turbines accelerate)
- Power turbines have reached maximum speed.
- (If the timer goes below 50 seconds)
- The power turbines are nearing full restart
- Please leave the facility within 50s
- (Approach the exit)
- (A cutscene plays)
-
- (Cutscene ends)
- You leave the engine and return safely to the surface...
Pioneer Source Structure: Output: Engine maintenance complete...
- (Interact with the indicated spot in front of the huge window, optional)
Observe- Paimon: Looks like we fixed the power hub, and these pipes are back to normal, too!
- (Approach the Skymount)
- Paimon: We should be able to start the elevator now, right?
- (Activate the Skymount)
- Paimon: Okay, nice and steady... We shouldn't fall this time!
- Paimon: Paimon's been wondering what this Space Lifeform Capture Station looks like... and if the dragon researchers ever caught any space creature.
- Paimon: Speaking of which... (Traveler), do you think the dragons would've mistaken you for a space creature and captured you for their research if you'd arrived back then?
- Paimon: ...Uhm, never mind. Best not to dwell on such scary thoughts.
- Eggie: Dragons don't eat humans... What's so scary about them?
- Paimon: Eggie... are you going through a rebellious phase? You're talking back to grown-ups like a little bird who's learned to fly!
- Eggie: You're not a grown-up... and I'm not a little bird... nor do I have wings to fly with...
- Paimon: Hey! Keep that up, and Paimon's gonna confiscate all your snacks!
- (A cutscene plays)
-
- (Cutscene ends)
- (The Skymount slows down)
- Paimon: Look! Over there... It's Teyvat!
- Paimon: This is Paimon's first time seeing it from afar... It's beautiful...
- Paimon: Are we about to enter outer space?
- Paimon: So the Space Lifeform Capture Station really is in space. Wow, good going, Ungi-Ungi!
- (Arrive at the Space Lifeform Capture Station)
-
- (A tutorial appears)
- (Open the Precious Chest)
- Paimon: Whoa! (Traveler), you're floating!
- Paimon: Looks like we really did get sent into space...
- Paimon: Let's search this place carefully first.
- Paimon: Paimon just hopes we don't get jumped by any space lifeforms...
- (Enter the room)
- Columbina: Maggie, how's everything going?
- Maggie: ♪...
- Columbina: Hmm? Ungie's left, you say? Then let's...
- Columbina: One moment. We appear to have guests.
- Columbina: (Traveler), Paimon. How did you...
- Paimon: Columbina! It's really you this time! Finally, we've found you!
Are we interrupting anything by dropping by unannounced?- Columbina: Of course not. I'm glad to see you. I'd go so far as to call this a pleasant surprise.
- Paimon: Hehe. What did Paimon say?
- Columbina: Still, how did you get to the moon?
It's a long story.- You tell Columbina about how you accidentally wound up flying to the moon in a spaceship.
- Columbina: Hehe, I suppose that's the moon's gravity for you. It was even able to pull your journey into its orbit.
- Paimon: Paimon wouldn't have stumbled into this situation if it weren't for Eggie being so confusing...
- Columbina: Uh, Eggie... Is that your name now?
- Eggie: My name is... Ninnin...
- Paimon: She's Ninnin, aka Eggie.
- Columbina: Please don't blame her, Paimon. I, too, am partly responsible for this.
- Paimon: Oh, Paimon was just kidding... But why would you say that? What exactly happened between you two, anyway?
- Columbina: Let me see... Hmm... After returning to the moon, I had an idea.
- Columbina: I wanted to tidy this place up and then invite my friends to come visit.
- Paimon: So, you were going to throw a moon party!
- Columbina: Yes. So I spread my power throughout the moon, checking every corner to make sure it was safe.
- Columbina: Soon, I discovered some things I did not understand. Ninnin was one of them. I still don't know what she and her kind are.
- Paimon: Eggie? Isn't she a kuuhenki? Y'know, just a slightly different color...
- Paimon: Well, a completely different color... But that's no big deal, right?
- Columbina: Hmm... I'd say their origins are different. The ones we see in Teyvat are born from my kuuvahki.
- Columbina: But the power flowing through the bodies of the kuuhenki here comes from a moon of an earlier era.
- Columbina: Beyond that, there are other things hidden within Ninnin's body, which have... nothing to do with the moon.
- Paimon: Nothing to do with the moon? No wonder you said she isn't a kuuhenki...
- Columbina: Maybe this is what caused her kind to develop such unique behaviors.
- Paimon: What kind of behaviors?
- Columbina: I discovered Ninnin in an underground forest. She was very weak and unconscious at the time. I tried to heal her with kuuvahki, but to little avail.
- Columbina: After bringing her back to the surface, I found that she began subconsciously consuming her kin — only then did she slowly awaken.
- Paimon: Wait, she ate her own kind!?
- Columbina: Yes... Kuuhenki would never do this. I believe only certain Abyssal creatures would... but the power that flows through Ninnin does not derive from the Abyss.
- Eggie: I... consumed others of my kind? I... don't remember...
- Columbina: You weren't fully conscious at that time.
- Columbina: And perhaps I should use the word "merge." They gave themselves to help awaken you. Hmm, yes, that sounds less like a horror story.
- Paimon: Well, Paimon's still a bit uneasy!
- Columbina: Yes, I had my concerns as well, so I brought her back to Silvermoon Hall to keep her away from her kin for the time being.
- Paimon: So you did that to isolate her... But what about the regular kuuhenki? What if Eggie started absorbing them?
- Columbina: Don't worry, that only happens between Ninnin and her own kind.
But why did she take your form?- Columbina: I lent her my power so the Frostmoon Scions wouldn't worry if they suddenly discovered a black kuuhenki but couldn't find me.
- Columbina: Though I didn't expect you to come back here.
- Eggie: I am sorry... but... I must reclaim my mission.
- Columbina: I don't know what your mission is, I'm afraid. But if the moon's gravity has brought you back here, perhaps I can help.
- Columbina: You said that she can absorb the power of the ancient moon from the terminals in the ruins. That seems like a safe approach.
- Paimon: Oh, yeah! We ran into other kuuhenki like Eggie on our way here, too, but we didn't see any of that eating-her-own-kind stuff.
- Paimon: Could it be because the power of the ancient moon in the terminal was enough to keep her full?
- Columbina: That sounds likely.
- Paimon: That said, Eggie couldn't absorb anything from the terminal at the entrance to Ungien's Circle because it was being affected by the moon's power. Was that your doing, Columbina?
- Columbina: No, that's due to the upheaval in the lunar sea. It kicked off an Archaeolune Storm, which in turn spread highly concentrated ancient moon energy all the way here.
- Columbina: As it happens, I'm on my way to take care of that. Otherwise, this power will cause harm to all living beings other than kuuhenki.
- Paimon: That won't do! Paimon still wants to attend your moon party!
What's the matter with the lunar sea?- Columbina: Maggie.
- Paimon: You mean the Mega Kuuhenki we saw earlier!
- Columbina: Mmhmm. Her name's Maggie, and the lunar sea is her home. It's thanks to that high concentration of energy that she's taken her current form. She has a companion there as well, named Ungie.
- Paimon: Oh? So there are two Mega Kuuhenki!?
- Columbina: Yes, but Ungie's been very irritable lately. He got into a fight with Maggie, the aftershocks of which stirred up the lunar sea and caused the storm.
- Paimon: Oh dear. Companions are supposed to get along, not fight. Take (Traveler) and Paimon, for instance. We never fight about anything.
I care for the young.- Paimon: I respect my elders.
- Columbina: Hehe, and you are great teachers. I've learned a lot from you about getting along with friends.
- Paimon: Hehe, in that case, leave this to us! We'll get those Mega Kuuhenki to make up.
- Columbina: That alone won't be enough, unfortunately. The Archaeolune Storm has already formed.
- Columbina: So I plan to extract the Ancient Moon's Fount at the center of the lunar sea, which lies at the heart of the energy storm.
- Paimon: Ooh, and that will not only calm the storm, but also prevent further problems even if they start fighting again?
- Columbina: I believe so, yes.
- Paimon: Alrighty then. When do we head out? The sooner we solve this problem, the sooner we can help Eggie. Paimon really wants to know what her mission is!
- Columbina: I had been monitoring Ungie's movements before you arrived.
- Columbina: If we want to avoid hurting him, it might be best if we wait for him to leave before retrieving the Ancient Moon's Fount. Then, we can look to help him and Maggie mend fences.
- Columbina: Maggie told me that she can't detect Ungie's energy fluctuations at the moment. That means he must have gone somewhere else.
- Paimon: Huh? Wait. Aren't we wasting time dawdling around here, then?
- Columbina: Not to worry. We can still make it in time if we leave right away.
- Eggie: Please wait...
- Columbina: Hmm?
- Eggie: I want to... ask her a question...
- Columbina: Maggie? Sure. But she might not be able to answer you very well.
- Eggie: Maggie... Hello... My name is Ninnin...
- Eggie: Is yours... Maagees-Geti?
- Maggie: ♪...
- Paimon: Maagees-Geti? Wait a minute... isn't that the name from the terminal just now?
Ungien's lover, yes.- Paimon: So she turned into a Mega Kuuhenki!? What's going on? Then the second one... Ungie... Could that be...
- Eggie: I don't know what to make of this either... but that's most likely Ungien...
- Columbina: What's wrong? You look shocked.
- You tell Columbina about the information you discovered in the terminal.
- Columbina: Two Dragon researchers... and Project Moongazer...?
- Columbina: Hmm... It seems my home has secrets that even I know nothing about.
- Columbina: Come with me for now. Once we resolve the issue of the Archaeolune Storm, we might be able to speak to Ungie.
- Paimon: Okay, let's go!
