Yu Huangyi is an open-world NPC located in Mahavaipulya Chamber: Library, Mahavaipulya Chamber, Temple of Space after completing World Quest Counterfeit Classics in Series A Long Day in the Mountains: Chapter 1 - Paradise.

Yu Huangyi is one of the "Uplifted," people chosen to be preserved as living memories in the Temple of Space.
He hails from a time before the Archon War, when the people of what is now Liyue lived in Shanhui Fort around Mt. Tianheng. After being uplifted to the Temple of Space, he wrote and shared stories with Calcerius and Okikuni. They based their novels on true events, altering storylines to create bizarre results. When Melanta learned of these stories, he deemed their work a pollutant and imprisoned them as paper within pages at the Mahavaipulya Chamber.[1]
During the World Quest Counterfeit Classics in Series A Long Day in the Mountains: Chapter 1 - Paradise, the Traveler and Paimon arrive at Mahavaipulya Chamber and find Calcerius, Okikuni, and Yu Huangyi trapped inside the pages. They free them and Yu Huangyi volunteers to accompany them on their quest to free the whole Mahavaipulya Chamber and its residents from Melanta's curse. They ultimately succeed and Calcerius, Okikuni, and Yu Huangyi go back to writing their stories.
Appearance
Yu Huangyi is a tall, fair-skinned man with medium-length, dark brown hair and brown eyes. He wears traditional Liyue attire consisting of a long, layered gray robe adorned with a branch pattern and golden details, and black shoes.
