Oroboros
Last updated 2026-08-06
Legends say THEY are an Aeon as well as a kind of ancient beings named Leviathans.
Oroboros is an Aeon in Honkai: Star Rail representing the Path of Voracity.
Description
In the eyes of Oroboros, life is a flickering fragment floating in the sea of void, destined to return to the darkness along with the stars which birthed THEM — This darkness is within the depths of THEIR mouths.
Profile
Oroboros was one of the oldest Aeons in the universe alongside Qlipoth.[4] THEY were the last remaining Dusk Leviathan, a species that is alleged by the IPC to have disappeared when Qlipoth ascended.[5][6] Oroboros possessed a massive fanged tentacled neck with writhing flesh. THEIR body had multiple forms.[7]
Herta speculates that Ena made a secret deal with Qlipoth regarding Oroboros.[8]
History
At some unknown point in the past, Aha stole the concept of "Aftertaste" from the Path of Voracity, causing the genetic markers responsible for encoding gustatory organs, or taste buds, to vanish from all creations of Voracity, such as Void Song Whales, turning them into biological black holes that consume without discrimination.[3][9]
During the Swarm Disaster, when the Swarm's propagation reached its peak, Oroboros devoured countless heirs of Tayzzyronth, as well as numerous galaxies.[7] It is said that no species can resist the lantern-like "bait" on THEIR stomach.[10] THEY also used THEIR "beautiful, alluring" singing voice to lure THEIR victims.[7] Oroboros and Tayzzyronth eventually confronted each other in a war that lasted five Amber Eras. It affected two-thirds of the universe and caused countless planetary and star systems to perish.[11] As Oroboros devoured civilizations during THEIR war against Tayzzyronth, the memories of its victims crystallized and were preserved by Fuli.[7][12] Oroboros vanished during the final phase of the war along with Ena, who had been watching THEM without THEIR knowledge.[12][13][14]
According to Ruan Mei, Aha scattered Oroboros' body across multiple worlds, including Planarcadia[2] and Vonwacq, suppressing THEIR remains with the power of the Path of Abundance while siphoning the power of the Path of Voracity, which Aha referred to as a "game."[3] The dead husks of Oroboros scattered throughout the cosmos were meant to be sated in various ways, often through elaborate games devised by Aha THEMSELF. On Planarcadia, this ritual took the form of the Phantasmoon Games, during which the Wishpower gathered by the Supplicants would flow into the Panarch Elwood, which in turn would channel it to the dead husk of Oroboros, keeping it sated and sealed at the world's core.[15]

Related Entry — The Voracity
...Oroboros the Voracity! THEY are reserved and uncommunicative, occasionally resulting in unintended consequences when attempting to speak — such as inadvertently consuming THEIR interlocutors. This often renders further discourse unnecessary. Had Louis Fleming encountered Oroboros the Voracity, he might have approached the Aeon with the intent to attract all wealth throughout the universe! Fortunately, Oroboros has vanished without a trace. Undoubtedly, many individuals are likely in search of THEIR whereabouts, and I am no exception. However, I choose not to indulge in tracking THEM down personally and instead will leave that task to Ruan Mei and Screwllum. What piques my curiosity more is the relationship between Oroboros and the other Dusk Leviathans. As Oroboros stands alone as the sole known Aeon to have ascended from a Dusk Leviathan, it is conceivable that THEY may still have a reaction to the Shattered Star Bait...
