Video Store (Game System)/Promoters

Promoters are characters who can be recruited by the player to help promote Random Play.

Overview

There are two types of promoter that the player can recruit: Agents that the player has developed a strong bond with, and NPCs who are regulars at Random Play and request a specific videotape.

For the former, the player must first raise the Agent's Trust Level to at least "Friendly", then have them come to the protagonist's room (either the one at the Video Store or the one at Amber Hall) to watch a videotape, usually of their choosing. Agents that usually reside at Waifei Peninsula will strangely watch the videotape at the Video Store, usually because they want to see what the video store itself (or the protagonist's room there) is like.

For Agents that were released around when Zenless Zone Zero launched, they will ask for a videotape, which must be unlocked before the Agent goes to the video store to watch it. As of recently, this has since been discontinued: Agents may ask for videotapes that do not exist in-game, in which the protagonist automatically acts as if it was owned; even videotapes that are available in-game will be treated as owned, even if the player has not unlocked them.

In regards to NPCs, the process is simpler: they will first appear as a customer looking for a certain type of videotape, requiring the player to suggest one that best fits their request. Doing so correctly will prompt them to offer their services as a promoter. Before or after completing commissions, or during certain events, promoters may be unable to promote the video store.
