• The track's title is likely taken from a piece commonly known as "Owê, sol aber mir iemer mê" (Middle High German: "O woe, but shall to me never again") by medieval German lyricist Heinrich von Morungen, where each verse ends with "Dô tagte ez" (Middle High German: "then it became day").
  • The piece itself consists of 4 verses which change back and forth between a male and female speaker. Each verse is a monologue, talking about the other person, their looks and actions, during the night, mourning the fact that it is now over and a new day has begun. This is a typical theme of the category of German medieval lyric called Tagelied.
