Edge of Survival
Last updated 2026-09-08
Edge of Survival is a unique end-game mode in which players can challenge one of three particularly strong Shadow Realms for rewards. Players are given a set time to clear the stage, with points being given upon killing enemies. The total score awarded depends on how many enemies were killed, how fast the level was cleared and any difficulty modifiers that were in effect. There are four difficulties; Normal for levels 1-2, Advancing for 3-5, Hard for 6-8, and Extreme at level 9.
Each stage is unlocked by entering the Shadow Realm at the corresponding locations in Snezhnaya. Completing one will unlock the World Quest The Shooting Range and the Deep Shadow Realm, the tutorial quest.
Prime Ice cannot be utilized in Edge of Survival maps, and ammo boxes are a one-time use. If the player is defeated while clearing a stage, they are placed at the last unlocked checkpoint and any damaged enemies will have their health restored to full, though slain enemies will not respawn.
The challenge ends once the final enemy is defeated or time runs out. Additional time is given when an enemy is defeated. If the stage is cleared with excess time, it will be converted into additional score, with one second equivalent to 1,000 points.
Each difficulty adds additional multipliers onto the enemy:
- Normal: 0x
- Advancing: Score 2.5x, enemy HP 2.0x
- Hard: Score 5.0x, enemy HP 3.0x
- Extreme: Score 10.0x, enemy HP 4.5x
In order to attempt Extreme Mode, the player must have acquired at least 300,000 points from a lower difficulty.
Tutorial
- Edge of Survival
At the shooting range onboard the train, you can undertake special challenges at the simulated Shadow Realm Edge of Survival. This is where you can truly push the envelope and test the limits of your firearms skills and techniques!
You can quickly access the shooting range for the challenge from your Snezhnaya Adventure Journal.
Unlock Edge of Survival challenge stages by first completing the corresponding Shadow Realm challenges in Snezhnaya.
Before the challenge starts, you may select Difficulty Clauses of various types that have effects such as enhancing the opponent's HP, ATK, and combat skills. Doing so will raise the overall difficulty of the challenge.
The more Difficulty Clauses you select, the higher the overall challenge difficulty will be, and the more points you earn from defeating an opponent.
Once the challenge begins, you have to defeat as many opponents as possible within the time limit.
Every opponent you defeat earns you the corresponding points as well as extends the challenge duration.
Earn additional points when you establish and maintain a defeat streak.
