Forbidding Doors of Melancholy is the fifth quest of the World Quest Series In the Dwelling of Life.

- Place a Grappling Gun to pull the chandelier down
- Dismantle the Grappling Gun and ride the chandelier upwards
Activate the curtain mechanism

Go to the other curtain switch
- Place a Grappling Gun on the lower level again to pull the chandelier down
- Dismantle the Grappling Gun and ride the chandelier upwards
- Place a Grappling Gun on the chandelier to pull it towards the other one
- Dismantle the Grappling Gun and place a new one on the indicated spot

Chandelier in the Hall: A hanging lamp in the assembly hall. Can be pulled down using the Prime Ice Construct: Grappling Gun.
While the Grappling Gun is deployed, lamps will remain in their respective positions until the Gun is removed.
Of course, you can also use the Prime Ice Construct: Grappling Gun to pull hanging lamps closer together. However, if the Grappling Gun is removed as this happens, the hanging lamps will start swinging.

You're done with the curtain. Now, it's time to regroup with Nastya and Paimon.

(Approach Nastya and Paimon)
(The camera shows the wall relief with three crystals in blue, red and white): Nastya: I remember this was carved to look like Zhara. But Zhara doesn't look like this anymore.; Nastya: We have to keep going, through here...; Paimon: Oh, okay! Onward we go~ Hang on, isn't this just a wall?; Nastya: This is the doorway to home. Only the ones who are chosen can go through and become eternal life free of all worries.; Nastya: Doctor Moreau is the only one who's supposed to know how to open this door, but... To open the door behind it, we have to turn it to match the right pattern...

For the last step, we gotta put the "salt" there.; Nastya: Doctor Moreau said that for a person to turn into the Perfect Tree, they have to change in three ways...; Nastya: "Cast off the soul of the past, and it shall no longer be bound by the hidden veins of the earth." Then, the thing that replaces the soul of the past is... the um... s—sulfur of the soul?; Nastya: "Cast off the will of the past, and it shall no longer be watched by the gaze above." And the thing that replaces the will is the silver of the spirit.
(The camera zooms in on Nastya's "horns"): Nastya: The last thing you have to cast off is... "Cast off the body of the past, and it shall no longer be worn away by the toil and turmoil of the mortal world." (After the dialogue): Paimon: That looks like Zhara...; Nastya: It will protect the door to our "home."; Nastya: ...That's what the doctor said.

Step Description

According to Nastya, this was where she was taken away the last time. And now, she can sense that "home" is very, very near...

(Ride the lift, push open the door and enter the room): Nastya: This is... odd. This is not a courtyard, and I don't see mama here either. This is just a strange room...; Nastya: Is this your first time here too, Nastya?; Nastya: Yes... Those bad people took me away before I could come here... (After defeating the third wave): Nastya: There's someone here. They won't let me through!

(Interact with the glowing spot after defeating all waves): Pick Up; After finding a suitable spot, Nastya tosses over the items she just found to you...

(Interact with the terminal)

Paimon: Same... One second it was dead quiet, and the next, BOOM! They just came rushing out like that!

Paimon: But hey, look at that new path that just opened up over here.

It looks like the way home to me.

Nastya: I don't know about that. But looks like it's the only path now, and the Doctor said before, "The only path is the right path."

Nastya: So as long as I follow this path, I'm sure I'll make it back to mama and turn into the Perfect Tree...
