Lemta
Last updated 2026-09-07
Lemta is an open-world NPC located in Sumeru City, Sumeru. During daytime, she can be found talking to Avena by the Teleport Waypoint in front of Lambad's Tavern. At night, she can be found inside Lambad's Tavern, talking to Hakan.
Location
Profile
Lemta has been hired by Adventurers' Guild rookie Avena, implied to be from Fontaine,[2] to serve as her bodyguard while she explores Sumeru. Much to Lemta's consternation, Avena has since been distracted by shopping instead of adventuring; Lemta dislikes bustling areas such as markets, and is suggested to have never entered Sumeru City before her commission with Avena.
During the Event Sunny Summer Fontinalia, Lemta is seen — alone — on the Wingalet's aquarium. Fontainian adventurer Ophelia convinces her to try out a new hairstyle.[3]
During the Event Great Expeditionist Challenge, Lemta and Sukhrab travel to Snezhnaya to represent Sumeru's Adventurers' Guild branch in the tournament, with Lemta substituting for Branch Master Kamal, who is on vacation; because of the number of commissions she helped Avena complete, Kamal gave her a part-time adventurers' certificate, and she has filled in for him on several occasions. Lemta changed her hairstyle before arriving, but has realized that she dislikes it, vowing to return it to normal before Avena sees it.[1]

Idle Quotes
- (Daytime)
Don't you remember...
- "*sigh* Don't you remember your adventure plans, my lady?"
- (Nighttime)
Never mind...
- "Thanks, but I'll pass."
- During Chromatic Ode of Candies and Roses
Let me think...
- "But, my lady, you've bought so much already! *sigh* Alright, let me think for a second..."
Thoughts
Lemta's thoughts can be accessed by using Nahida's Elemental Skill, All Schemes to Know.
- (Daytime)
- Lemta: (Ahh... The lady's adventure plans are probably on hold for good.)
- (Nighttime)
- Lemta: (I can't get out of the city fast enough, and you think I'd want to join the Corps of Thirty?)
Dialogue
Daytime
- Avena: I think I'll go explore over there next!
- Lemta: Miss, with all due respect, your adventure plan...
- Avena: Yeah, I know. I haven't forgotten! I just want to buy some Sumeru specialties before I set off.
- Avena: Come shop with me first, and I'll pay you by the standard of an Adventurer's bodyguard. You won't be underpaid. Trust me.
- Lemta: It's not the money. I don't usually carry packages for clients in the downtown area...
- Avena: Well, I wasn't fully prepared for this. I came to Sumeru with only diving equipment. Just see this as procuring supplies for my adventure.
- Lemta: Fine then...
Nighttime
- Hakan: Ah! If it isn't Lemta! The last time I saw you in the city... Um... Well, I believe I've never seen you in the city before.
- Lemta: Yeah. I came this time with an adventurer who paid me to protect her.
- Lemta: My original plan was to leave after we've registered at the Adventurers' Guild, but she became obsessed with shopping halfway...
- Lemta: I've spent days with her in the Grand Bazaar... And I have a feeling that this isn't gonna end soon.
- Hakan: Wow, you're not exaggerating, are you?
- Lemta: Nope. I guess it has to do with her being a foreigner, so anything here could pique her interest easily. Every day, she shops until the sun sets. And as her bodyguard, I can't leave her alone.
- Hakan: Wow, that sounds terrible. You've never been a fan of the fancy stuff at the market. I guess you must be so bored right now.
- Hakan: Why don't you quit the job and join the Corps of Thirty?
- Hakan: We only work for the Akademiya. It's a stable job with much to earn and not so much to be done. This is far better than taking gigs in small gangs.
- Lemta: I'll pass. The fact that even you are saying there's "not much to be done" means only one thing: What the job involves is eating, drinking, sleeping, and nothing more.
- Hakan: Haha! You sure know me very well.
Event Dialogue
Chromatic Ode of Candies and Roses
- Avena: I think I'll go explore over there next!
- Lemta: Miss, with all due respect, your adventure plan...
- Avena: Oh, I know, I haven't forgotten! But isn't it the Sabzeruz Festival that's going on right now?
- Avena: How could I not throw myself, body and soul, into such an important holiday?
- Lemta: Your whole body and soul and [sic] one thing, but if you throw your whole wallet at the festival too, you won't have anything left to cover adventuring expenses, you know!
- Avena: Oh, wallet schmallet! That's where you're wrong. You can't eat money, it's meant to be spent!
- Lemta: *sigh* Really? Well, alright, then...
Great Expeditionist Challenge
- (Talk to Lemta)
- Lemta: Things are still such a mess... I didn't do that well in the competition either. It feels like my bad luck's spilling over like pilaf from an overfilled pot...
Having some trouble?
- Lemta: Ah, perfect timing. An expert, just when I needed one.
- Lemta: What do you think of my hairstyle?
It's... pretty classic?
- Lemta: That's a very polite way to put it. You're too kind.
It doesn't really suit you, somehow.
- Lemta: Right? That's because I never used to wear my hair like this.
- Lemta: A while ago, when I was passing through Fontaine, Ophelia kept raving about her hairstylist, so I went and got myself a "fashionable new look."
- Lemta: In Sumeru, only the wealthier ladies can call in a real expert and spend hours getting a style like this done.
- Lemta: It was only afterward that I realized this hairstyle doesn't go with my face or my outfit at all... I really regret it.
- Lemta: Once I'm back in Sumeru City, I'll have to figure out how to change myself back. Otherwise, Avena is definitely going to tease me about it.
Ophelia?
- Lemta: She's an incredible adventurer. She manages all the supplies for the entire Fontaine branch of the Adventurers' Guild.
- Lemta: Back when we were exploring the desert, there was a misunderstanding between her and the mercenary company I was with at the time. Things got out of hand, and she ended up taking down seven of us.
- Lemta: Later, Lady Candace stepped in and smoothed things over. Ophelia actually covered an entire year's worth of water expenses for us. An entire year!
- Lemta: That's the kind of money we would usually spend three months earning. If anything, she was a little too sincere.
- Lemta: The sad thing is, I heard she was badly injured when some out-of-control experimental field-force device came crashing down on her. She did recover, but she couldn't really stay on the front lines afterward.
- Lemta: Otherwise, she'd probably be competing here too.
Avena?
- Lemta: A sweet, innocent young lady. She's my employer — the one I'm here to protect.
- Lemta: She chose me as her bodyguard because she said we "just clicked" when we met, and promised to introduce me to some amazing adventurers.
- Lemta: As it turned out, they were all bright-eyed rookies with big dreams, kind hearts, and no idea how dangerous the world can be. Some of them even had mentors I'd beaten before.
- Lemta: She funds the entire team without expecting anything in return... She's almost unbelievably generous, in that innocent way of hers.
- Lemta: That's why I don't mind tagging along and carrying her bags. I want to see this team grow into something...
- Lemta: ...Provided she doesn't empty her purse first. She needs someone to help her judge what's worth the money, so I'll keep an eye on her.
- Lemta: Next time there's an event like this, maybe I'll bring her along to watch.
Have we met before?
- Lemta: ...Perhaps. If you've ever turned in commissions at the Adventurers' Guild in Sumeru City, you might have seen me there with my employer.
- Lemta: Over the years, my employer and I would often stop there to rest after buying supplies.
- Lemta: I usually ended up taking care of certain commissions for her... ones she never quite realized were as difficult as they were.
- Lemta: So Branch Master Kamal gave me a part-time adventurer's certificate as well. It's worked out rather well — I can earn a little extra Mora that way.
- Lemta: If he hadn't suddenly decided on a whim to spend his vacation out at sea, he would have been the one leading Sumeru's team.
- Lemta: He's rather carefree, really. Since I've helped him more than forty times already, he even felt comfortable leaving meetings like this to me. I can hardly let him down now, can I?
- Lemta: Mm, I seem to have gotten a little off topic...
- Lemta: Anyway, if we ever get the chance, we should work together. My employer is rather generous, you know.
Then here's hoping your luck changes for the better today.
- Lemta: Thank you. I hope the same for you.
Available after completing Paimon's "Driyosh" Way of Solving Problems.
- Lemta: Hmm, that was a good fight.
- Lemta: Now that things have settled down, perhaps I should bring Avena some cosmetics from Snezhnaya...
- Lemta: ...Though, does Snezhnaya have any cosmetics it's known for?
Trivia
- During Collei's dream in the Archon Quest Where Flowers Awaken in Song of the Welkin Moon: Act IX - As All Falls to Emptiness, Lemta is a merchant instead of a bodyguard; Avena, meanwhile, is manning the food stall in front of Lambad's Tavern.
Etymology
- Lemta is one of the clans of the Tuareg people.
