Mitya (Russian: Митя Mitya) is a character in Genshin Impact.

He makes his first appearance during Transcendence Trailer - "Sudden Snow."

Profile

An expert with the Energy Commission, he has an exceptional command of all manner of energy-related technologies. Though he can be rather talkative at times, his scarf more than makes up for it.

Mitya is a scientist from the Royal Energy Commission of Snezhnaya. He is a regular patron at the Korolevskiy Theater who looks for inspiration from performances there, though he often finds himself forced away from the theater by Valeriy to resume his work.^[5]

Mitya also serves as a key figure in Project Mistilteinn, closely working with Pierro and other staff at the Armory Palace in its development. Through his work on energy research, Mitya extracted and reverse-engineered the energy contained within Stellar Linchpins, yielding in the creation of Anti-Celestia Energy to be used for the project.^[6]

Personality

Mitya is a lively, talkative individual who has a very charming and, oftentimes, eccentric personality. He is easy to talk to, but he sometimes talks too much about his research. His personality is offset by an equally lively sapient scarf who reacts to Mitya's actions, including choking him to prevent him from disclosing classified information.

Despite this, he is shown to be incredibly observant and intelligent, making him a key player in Project Mistilteinn. He accurately predicts Valeriy's inspection at Podvorye Restaurant to have lunch with Vodyanitsa, deducing the relationship between her, the Traveler, and Alyosha in the process. In the events of the Archon Quest Wraith's Nocturne in Chapter VII: Act II - Wraith's Nocturne, he is also able to figure out the mystery behind Korolevskiy Theater's mysterious deaths and the effects of Ronova's Curse of Death against Project Mistilteinn.

He frequently dodges work to visit the Korolevskiy Theater, yet his interest in the performances is questionable, as he uses them to gain inspiration for his projects instead of paying full attention to their contents. As an energy expert, he takes great pride in experimentation and the scientific method, with a will to rebel against the gods.

Appearance

Mitya uses a taller version of the medium male model. He has fair skin, soft purple eyes and short, messy and wavy light blue hair with a darker swirly pattern on one of his right bangs.

He wears a white shirt with a golden atom-like decoration on his chest with golden and teal gemstones; a dark blue long-sleeved button up shirt under a large black coat that fades to lavender on the bottom with a mint green interior. The coat is decorated by several alchemical golden designs with golden, teal and purple gemstones.

He wears plain black pants that fade to dark blue and black boots with navy cuffs and golden decorations and soles. He has a sentient purple and mint green hand-like scarf. His Electro Linchpin is located on the side of his left thigh, attached on a golden garter.^[7]

It's hard to ignore, especially when the rest of the audience has their eyes glued to the stage. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more true appreciation for the arts in his scarf than his entire body.

Etymology

• Mitya (Russian: Митя) is a diminutive of the name Dmitriy (Russian: Дмитрий).
• Mitya's name may be inspired by Dmitri Mendeleev (Russian: Дмитрий Менделеев), a Russian chemist known for formulating the periodic law and creating a version of the periodic table.
