Winter's Mysterious Silence

Last updated 2026-09-04

Winter's Mysterious Silence is the third part in the Teyvat storyline Archon Quest VII: Act II - Wraith's Nocturne.

Steps

  1. Awaken from dreaming sleep
  2. Investigate the available clues in the theater (0/3)
  3. Return to the theater's main hall and assemble
  4. Analyze the clues you currently have
  5. Return to your room to rest for now
  6. Assemble onstage
  7. Find a way to ascertain the situation
  8. Flee the "black mist"
  9. Talk to Chugunov

Gameplay Notes

  • From The White Curtain Falls until the end of Wraith's Nocturne, the active party is limited to the Traveler.
  • During step 8 Valeriy joins as a special Assist Character in party slot 2:
    • He cannot be directly controlled like other party members and selecting him will not switch from the active character.
    • Instead, upon selection Valeriy will be summoned to the field, charging a medium distance ahead in the direction wherever the Traveler was facing when summoning him, dealing Electro damage to nearby enemies before disappearing again.
    • Valeriy can be summoned once every 8s.

UI Quest Quest Description

Successive deaths occur within the theater, but there seems to be no clues as to the perpetrator. You gradually realize that this may not be some ordinary occurrence...
(Continues from previous quest)
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Rampana! Rampana!!!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 1 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Is that... Vodyanitsa's voice? What happened...?)
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: Kulish! Wake up, please wake up!!!
Narrator: A "drama about sleeping," which began as a joke the other day, is now playing out on the stage. No one counted on it being a tragedy.
Narrator: Everyone is gathered around the two "sleepers" in the center of the stage. Without even inspecting the scene, you already know what has happened, as if someone had told you in advance.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: The situation is identical to that of the two casualties yesterday. We cannot ascertain the cause of death.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: At least there are some elements that we can rule out this time. They slept on the stage with everyone else, so I suppose the surrounding environment can't be a relevant variable...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 odette 01.ogg Odette: Rampana... Kulish...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 shram 01.ogg Shram: Weren't some of us keeping watch last night? Three of us, in fact. How could you not notice something was wrong?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 odette 02.ogg Odette: I'm as confused as you are. Certainly, nothing unusual happened on my watch.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: Likewise. And from what I've observed so far, both Miss Odette and (‍Traveler‍) can be trusted.
Icon Dialogue Talk White No incidents during my watch, either.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I have no reason to suspect Valeriy or Odette, either.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: To be honest, I didn't get a wink of sleep last night... I couldn't help but think I was the target, so I just laid there with my eyes closed.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 02.ogg Chugunov: I heard (‍Traveler‍) and Lelek chatting, but otherwise I don't recall hearing any commotion during the night.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 01.ogg Tonia: M—Me too... I didn't wanna wake everyone up, so I was concentrating hard, trying not to cough. I hardly slept at all... If anything had happened, I'm sure I would have noticed.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Then, what could possibly be causing this? Once was bad enough... I can't believe it happened again...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: I worked closely with Rampana and Kulish for so long. I never imagined that one day, they'd... and on the stage, of all places...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 02.ogg Tonia: Vodyanitsa...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 1 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Four victims in just two days, and we still don't have a single lead...)
Media:vo zdaq007 1 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 1 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (I need to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible — and above all, keep Tonia safe. I'd never be able to look Childe in the eye again otherwise...)
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 03.ogg Valeriy: Still snowing?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: Yes, I just checked. Still no sign of anyone outside, either.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 shram 02.ogg Shram: So we only have ourselves to rely on?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 03.ogg Chugunov: If you ask me, this killer can clearly strike whenever they please. The night watch was a useless endeavor from the start...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 04.ogg Chugunov: Lelek must be an expert in poisoning! Clearly, she used some poison that can't be detected on the corpse!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 odette 03.ogg Odette: Here we go again.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 05.ogg Chugunov: Listen, I was already thinking to myself last night: Was Lelek's reason for revealing her identity the real story? Well, now I have my answer. It most certainly was not!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 06.ogg Chugunov: She's been playing us for fools! You get off on this, don't you? Revealing your identity, only to carry on with your killing spree?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 odette 04.ogg Odette: That's a hideous thought. One that only a hideous mind like yours could dream up.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 07.ogg Chugunov: How dare you...!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: That's enough. Yesterday, you named Lelek as a suspect because the victims were both wealthy merchants. Lelek might have had a motive then...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 06.ogg Vodyanitsa: But today's victims were just ordinary people, not to mention that they were colleagues of Odette and mine. What reason would she have to murder them? Let me guess, just to scare you?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 08.ogg Chugunov: Who knows? Maybe you don't know her as well as you think!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 09.ogg Chugunov: Hmph. I implore you all to ask yourselves: How many people are there really in this world that have what it takes to kill another person? Not many, I'd wager.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 10.ogg Chugunov: Lelek is well known to be a ruthless operator, and now she has revealed her identity. How could it be any more obvious?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 04.ogg Valeriy: Everything you've said so far is still just conjecture, which doesn't constitute a concrete lead. You need to back up your claims with some evidence.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 11.ogg Chugunov: How can you defend her, Officer? ...What did she say to you while you were on night watch?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 12.ogg Chugunov: Hmph, maybe I shouldn't be so surprised — you military types are always colluding with criminals to target the rich...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 13.ogg Chugunov: ...All so you can get your grubby paws on our hard-earned fortunes, then tell us to fall in line! The Fatui, the Druzhna, and the Rokot... Thugs, the lot of you!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 05.ogg Valeriy: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 14.ogg Chugunov: D—Don't you dare...!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 03.ogg Tonia: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 04.ogg Tonia: Sir, but... You were the one who told us not to stop other people from expressing their opinions yesterday.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 05.ogg Tonia: Four people have already died... Only yesterday, I was chatting with Mr. Kulish, then we woke up in the morning, and he's...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 06.ogg Tonia: Turning against one another is the last thing we should be doing right now.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 07.ogg Tonia: *cough*...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 15.ogg Chugunov: L—Little girl...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 08.ogg Tonia: Even if... Even if Mr. Chugunov is a puffed-up, pig-headed, windbag who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 09.ogg Tonia: ...He's still one of the victims here, isn't he?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 chugunov 16.ogg Chugunov: ...Ugh...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 shram 03.ogg Shram: Pfft... Ahem, quite.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 06.ogg Valeriy: I had no intention of resorting to violence. But you're right, Miss Tonia. I ought not prevent him from speaking his mind.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 07.ogg Valeriy: In any case, I believe Mr. Chugunov has calmed down a little now. We may resume our discussion...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: I don't think there's any need for that. What is there to discuss? Nothing about this situation is normal.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 07.ogg Vodyanitsa: Did you have an idea, Mitya? You're the brainiac here, right? C'mon, clue us in!
Media:vo zdaq007 1 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: I've been mulling something over. All the leads we have so far concern things from outside the theater. Miss Odette's alter ego, the threats Mr. Chugunov received...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 mitya 04.ogg Mitya: But then there's the two double-murder crime scenes themselves, which have given us absolutely nothing to go on whatsoever. That's highly unusual. Even with the most careful killers, there's always some evidence left behind.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: So what are you suggesting?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 mitya 05.ogg Mitya: I think this could be a supernatural event. It isn't characteristic of human-on-human homicide at all.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 08.ogg Vodyanitsa: Uh... Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you supposed to be a scientist? That doesn't sound like a conclusion someone like you is supposed to make...
Media:vo zdaq007 1 mitya 06.ogg Mitya: Haha... I got into scientific research because of my insatiable curiosity. But if the present situation defies all known scientific explanations, I don't mind shifting my curiosity toward the paranormal instead.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 odette 05.ogg Odette: Now that you mention it... I remember when I first came to the theater, I heard rumors about this place being haunted.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 ptashka 10.ogg Tonia: Haunted...!?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 09.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yeah, I... think I heard the same thing. But I mean, they're only rumors, right? We've worked here for years. Surely we would've noticed any spooky goings-on by now?
Media:vo zdaq007 1 hero 04.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 1 heroine 04.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Well, this has taken an unexpected turn... A haunted theater? If Paimon were here, she'd probably be hiding behind me in fear right now.)
Media:vo zdaq007 1 vodyanitsa 10.ogg Vodyanitsa: ...Why don't we take this opportunity to look for clues again with a more open mind? Maybe a different perspective will help us see something different.
Media:vo zdaq007 1 valeriy 08.ogg Valeriy: Very well. Whether it's criminals or ghosts we're looking for, the same rules apply — everyone needs to tread carefully. I'll move the bodies into the same room for now.
(Talk to Shram and Chugunov, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 2 shram 01.ogg Shram: Chin up, my man. That soldier guy just gave you a bit of a fright, that's all. Think about your wife and kids back home, that'll get you your mojo back.
Media:vo zdaq007 2 shram 02.ogg Shram: Me, for example — whenever I get hungry, tired, sleepy, or thirsty, I just think about that Water Imp friend of mine and everything's suddenly alright again.
Media:vo zdaq007 2 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: So daydreaming about women somehow removes your need for food and water, does it? Don't be absurd.
(Talk to Vodyanitsa, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 2 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: I need to think very hard about whether there's anything that ever needed hiding... After all these years, there must be some things even I've forgotten about...
(Attempt to open the door of the room where bodies were, optional)
Icon Dialogue Talk White Open the door
(‍Traveler‍): The room where our companions' remains lie... Best not to disturb their peaceful sleep.

(Talk to Odette and Valeriy)
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 01.ogg Odette: Valeriy, come take a look at this. You too, (‍Traveler‍).
Media:vo zdaq007 5 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: Some sort of notebook... What is it for?
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 02.ogg Odette: It's the on-duty logbook for the theater. Kulish was the main person to use it.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 03.ogg Odette: He mostly used it to record any unusual incidents during a show, audience numbers, exit times, and so on...
Icon Dialogue Talk White I saw Kulish at the entrance before coming in.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I think he was holding this book at the time.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 04.ogg Odette: Yes, he'd always have this logbook with him when he checked tickets at the entrance.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: This should confirm a lot of key details about the recent show. So? Find anything unusual?
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 05.ogg Odette: Yes... The number of people. I've checked and double-checked, but the numbers just don't match what's recorded in the logbook.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 06.ogg Odette: Apparently... we have an extra person among us.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 valeriy 03.ogg Valeriy: Are we certain that the logbook is accurate? Could someone have sneaked in without buying a ticket, or something?
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 07.ogg Odette: Unlikely. Kulish took his duties very seriously. I've rarely seen any errors in his work.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 08.ogg Odette: Not to mention that this was a dress rehearsal, meaning smaller audience numbers and tighter ticket restrictions than usual. Everything would have been well within his control.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 valeriy 04.ogg Valeriy: Hmm... We no longer have our tickets with us, do we? They got collected on entry. I assume there's no way we can check them again?
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 09.ogg Odette: Unfortunately not. The theater recycles tickets. Once people are in the door, they don't tend to leave until the show ends, so we collect the tickets at the point of entry.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Too bad Kulish is dead...
Icon Dialogue Talk White If he were still around, we could just ask him.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 odette 10.ogg Odette: Mm. Still... I'm inclined to believe that this discrepancy in the headcount is significant somehow.
Media:vo zdaq007 5 valeriy 05.ogg Valeriy: Did an extra person just materialize out of thin air...?
(Talk to Valeriy again, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 5 valeriy 05.ogg Valeriy: Did an extra person just materialize out of thin air...?
(Talk to Tonia)
Media:vo zdaq007 3 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 3 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Tonia? Did you find anything?
Media:vo zdaq007 3 ptashka 01.ogg Tonia: Not yet. Still looking. So, are we, um... are we supposed to be looking for something paranormal...? I—I think I'd prefer teaming up with you than looking around on my own...
Media:vo zdaq007 3 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 3 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): This looks like... somebody's notebook. Shall we read it together?
Media:vo zdaq007 3 ptashka 02.ogg Tonia: Umm... Well, it doesn't look scary or anything.... so, I guess it should be fine...
Media:vo zdaq007 3 ptashka 03.ogg Tonia: ...Alright. Let's read it together.
A "Letter" in a Diary
Page 1
...You once told me I would understand someday, but even now, I still don't.
I don't believe anyone should be forced to abandon their homeland because of a change in power. She never considered the feelings of us Water Imp nobles.
Every inch of this land reflects memories of my childhood; if I close my eyes, I can still hear everyone's songs echoing everywhere. I will not forgive those who drove us away...
And I miss you very much, Mother.
Page 2
I often find myself missing that dress with the tassels, the heavy bed curtains, and the first rays of sunlight that would stream into the manor each morning.
But it's alright now — if I narrow my eyes just a little, the light seeping through a crack backstage feels just like the one in our manor.
I know that life is gone forever, and I can miss it all I want, but I also feel that what I have here now is no less than what I lost.
The fantastical sets designed by the prop master, the many fans who come all this way just to see me, and the quiet dancing girl who doesn't talk much — these are all mine! I won't lose any of it again! Never! Absolutely never!
Page 3
I've joined a rather remarkable organization, though I can't tell you its name, hehe.
Whatever that great figure intends to do this time, there should always be someone looking out for the misfortunes of ordinary people. That's what our organization exists for.
Even now, I still don't understand her. Why is it that those in power always seem this way? They clearly have the ability to bring greater happiness.
Some say she has her own difficulties. But what could possibly trouble someone so seemingly omnipotent?
Never mind. I should just focus on what I can do. I suppose you'll all hear about our organization sooner or later. Its name is... Ah, never mind. I'll leave it a mystery for now.
Media:vo zdaq007 3 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 3 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Huh. This has to be Vodyanitsa's writing, surely...)
Media:vo zdaq007 3 ptashka 04.ogg Tonia: Hmm... Maybe it's a little rude for us to peek at this. I feel like I just read someone's secret diary by accident...
Icon Dialogue Talk White Since it's an accident, it should be fine...
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...Now I feel a little guilty too.
Media:vo zdaq007 3 ptashka 05.ogg Tonia: It sounds like she's writing this for her parents, right? I don't understand — why put this stuff in a notebook instead of mailing it in a letter?
Media:vo zdaq007 3 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Because her Water Imp parents belonged to the aristocracy, who were driven out of Snezhnaya by the Tsaritsa long ago. And now they live somewhere new, where the postman can't get to.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Oh, uh... Hey, Vodyanitsa...
Icon Dialogue Talk White I can explain...
Media:vo zdaq007 3 ptashka 06.ogg Tonia: We're sorry!
Media:vo zdaq007 3 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: It's fine. My fault for not storing it properly. I can't leave things lying around and expect them to get ignored when everyone's scouring the place for clues.
Media:vo zdaq007 3 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Alright, gimme my notebook back. I'll take over the investigation in this room.
Media:vo zdaq007 3 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: Aaaaaaah! How did I forget about this!? Oh no, not this page... Oh god, and this one... Oh, my... WHY AM I SO EMBARRASSING!?
Media:vo zdaq007 3 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: Aaaaaaaaaaah!
(Talk to Alyosha and Mitya)
Media:vo zdaq007 4 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: Ah, (‍Traveler‍). Since you're here — come take a look at this.
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: Alyosha found it. We're both curious to hear your perspective. It appears to be a... well, an investigation report — and the focus of the investigation was the rumors of haunting we heard about earlier.
Investigation Report into Supernatural Sightings at the Opera House
Page 1
...This commission is clearly not as simple as previous cases involving only "folklore studies." It appears to be connected to something far more mysterious.
An extinct civilization? The creations of ancient gods? Or powers from beyond this world? The possibilities leave ample room for speculation.
From now on, we should take this as a lesson: a simple surface does not imply that what lies beneath shares the same level of existence or nature.
Page 2
Ley Lines themselves possess a powerful ability to either "devour" or "guide" souls. In most cases, once the soul and body of the deceased are separated, the soul is drawn directly into the Ley Lines, leaving no room for lingering existence.
However, evidence shows that the connection between the theater area and the Ley Lines has been obstructed, though only partially, not completely severed. Still, this has granted certain souls unwilling to return to the Ley Lines an opportunity: if their resistance is strong enough, they may even linger within the theater indefinitely.
In theory, however, these souls within the theater are incapable of influencing the physical world. Only under extremely rare circumstances can they produce phenomena observable to the human eye. Overall, they can be considered harmless. This assessment may be conveyed in advance to the theater's management to reassure them.
Page 3
But for me, the investigation does not end here. Uncovering the reason why the Ley Lines have been obstructed is the true focus of this inquiry.
After consulting multiple sources, the most reliable hypothesis at present appears to be... "the existence of an angel civilization and its preliminary attempts at Ley Line renovation."
There is too little information available here. I must return home as soon as possible...
Media:vo zdaq007 4 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 4 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (An investigation report, huh? Looks quite old... This person's name looks to be of Sumeru origin to me. Was the investigator from Sumeru?)
Media:vo zdaq007 4 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: The theater manager must've hired an investigator once specifically to look into this issue. But it doesn't look like anyone ever looked at the report.
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: Presumably, the manager wanted to know if the supposed "haunting" was dangerous, while also being fearful of word getting out in case it affected the theater's business.
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: Anyway, the bottom line is — the "haunting" is actually real after all. It's caused by an obstruction in the Ley Lines... Is there any chance this is the key to finally making some progress with the murder cases?
Media:vo zdaq007 4 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 4 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Ley Line problems are pretty unexceptional to me by this point. And while it certainly offers an explanation for the "ghosts"...)
Media:vo zdaq007 4 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 4 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (...It's hard to imagine what connection it could have to these two murder cases.)
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 04.ogg Mitya: Some of the language that appears at the very end of the report caught my eye. "Angel Civilization," "Ley Line Renovation"...
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 05.ogg Mitya: My area of research doesn't touch on any of that, so it's completely outside of my wheelhouse...
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 06.ogg Mitya: ...Huh, a piece of paper just fell out from the report. It landed right by your feet.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Let's see...
Words on Paper: "Death is near."
Winter's Mysterious Silence Note
Icon Dialogue Talk White I just got goosebumps...
Icon Dialogue Talk White It's pretty ominous, no matter how you look at it.
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 07.ogg Mitya: How unnerving... It was tucked inside the report, so it must be a note left by the author.
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 08.ogg Mitya: "Death is near"... Is that supposed to be what's going on here? With us, in the theater?
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 09.ogg Mitya: But if so, how did the author foresee it? Could he predict the future somehow?
Media:vo zdaq007 4 alyosha 03.ogg Alyosha: Maybe things are more complicated than we thought.
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 10.ogg Mitya: ...No, wait a second... If we take the report and the note at face value, they completely contradict one another.
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 11.ogg Mitya: The report definitively concludes that the hauntings in the theater are harmless and cannot affect the real world. But the note seems to be warning of potential danger...
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 12.ogg Mitya: The question is... What exactly does the note mean by "death"?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Is it simply describing our situation?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Is it referring to the victims?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Or could it refer to the perpetrator?
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 13.ogg Mitya: Hmm... The various ways we could interpret this key word lead in completely different directions. Let's pause our analysis here for now. I think we need more information.
(Talk to Mitya again, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 4 mitya 12.ogg Mitya: The question is... What exactly does the note mean by "death"?
(After talking to everyone)
Media:vo zdaq007 6 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: ...If we take all this together, it's not impossible, is it? If anything, it's the natural conclusion.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: I beg to differ. This sounds to me like the product of a researcher's vivid imagination... Perhaps it's because I'm still viewing this through the lens of a typical murder investigation, but still. I'm struggling to be persuaded by your theory.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: *sigh*... Does it really sound that far-fetched? Alright, well, let's treat that as speculation for now. I do agree with what you've said, so let's go with your idea for now.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: Good. Okay, now that we finally have some meaningful leads, I think it's time to reconvene. Let's get the others.
Everyone gathers back on the stage and shares the information they've found...
Media:vo zdaq007 6 valeriy 03.ogg Valeriy: ...So, that's about everything we've discovered so far.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 valeriy 04.ogg Valeriy: I'll share my theory first. Based on what we've learned from the logbook, I believe the extra person among us is most likely the killer.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 valeriy 05.ogg Valeriy: If the killer had simply bought a ticket, it would have greatly increased the risk of their identity being exposed.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 valeriy 06.ogg Valeriy: I expect he or she either hid in the theater ahead of time, or found a way to slip past the ticket inspection. They then blended in with the group and waited for an opportunity to strike.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: What about the note found in the investigation report? Any thoughts on how that fits in?
Media:vo zdaq007 6 valeriy 07.ogg Valeriy: The killer may simply have planted it there as some sort of sick joke. I've seen my fair share of psychopathic killers. They love playing cryptic mind games.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: So it has nothing to do with the haunting of the theater after all...
Media:vo zdaq007 6 shram 01.ogg Shram: This theory makes sense to me. If we have an audience member unaccounted for, chances are they didn't come here to watch the show.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 6 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Could it really be that simple?)
Media:vo zdaq007 6 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: So in other words, all we have to do is find out who got in here without a ticket, and all our problems will be solved?
Media:vo zdaq007 6 chugunov 02.ogg Chugunov: Then let me make one thing clear: All the theater staff should be well aware that I came here for the rehearsal legitimately, yes? There's no way I'm the one who didn't have a ticket.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: It's true. I hear you used every trick in the book to get a hold of that ticket, too. Everything short of throwing a temper tantrum and rolling around on the floor at the entrance.
Media:vo zdaq007 6 chugunov 03.ogg Chugunov: I... I most certainly did not degrade myself in such a way!
Media:vo zdaq007 6 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: Probably a stupid question, but I might as well ask... Did anyone here get in without having their ticket checked?
Media:vo zdaq007 6 shram 02.ogg Crowd: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 6 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: Heh. Guess it was naive of me to expect them to just admit to it...
Media:vo zdaq007 6 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: Especially after the unprompted Lelek reveal. Once was already a miracle, twice would be unfathomable.

(The most likely "extra person" who entered without a ticket is...)
(Select Vodyanitsa, Odette, or Alyosha; optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 7 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 7 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): As things stand, the audience headcount doesn't add up. I guess we can rule out the theater staff members...
(Select Kulish, Soboleva, Torgov, or Rampana; optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 7 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 7 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): We have to catch this extra person, even if only for the victims' sake!
(Select Traveler, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 7 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 7 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): I got my ticket from Childe. It was all above board and my ticket was checked at the entrance, so there's no way it's me.
(Select Tonia, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 7 hero 04.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 7 heroine 04.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Tonia received her ticket the same way I did. I assume Childe got both of them together. In any case, I knew in advance that Tonia was coming.
(Select Chugunov, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 7 hero 05.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 7 heroine 05.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Sounds like Chugunov went to a lot of trouble to get his ticket, because everyone at the theater knows about it.
(Select Valeriy or Mitya, optional)
Media:vo zdaq007 7 hero 06.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 7 heroine 06.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Valeriy came to the theater to catch Mitya. Those two should be able to vouch for one another, and their motives are clear.
(Select Shram)
Media:vo zdaq007 7 hero 07.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 7 heroine 07.ogg (‍Traveler‍): I don't believe any of us here knew Shram before all this. If no one can verify Shram's identity...
Media:vo zdaq007 8 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 8 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Mr. Shram... did you really go through the ticket inspection to get in here?
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 01.ogg Shram: Huh? Me? Why am I being singled out, my friend? Do I seem that suspicious?
Media:vo zdaq007 8 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: It's not that you stand out as suspicious. More that everyone else has been ruled out as trustworthy.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 02.ogg Shram: Okay... Well, we've spent the best part of two days together now, so I'm sure you all can tell what kind of person I am. I'm a true gentleman. I'd never dream of doing something like sneaking into the theater without a ticket.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yeah, I have no doubt that you're a good person. But the problem is... none of us here actually know you, so no one can say for sure that you are who you claim to be...
Media:vo zdaq007 8 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: Although actually... What was it you said last night...? Yeah, you're friends with that Water Imp, which is why you understand our primary mode of expression.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Last time I checked, there were barely any of us remaining in Snezhnaya, since most of the Water Imps left. Could you tell me a little bit more about your friend? There's a good chance I actually know her.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: ...And I suppose it's also kind of a way for everyone else to get to know you a little better.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 03.ogg Shram: Ah... I, uh... hahahaha... umm...
Media:vo zdaq007 8 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: Good grief... Are you blushing? Pull yourself together, man. Stop giggling like a teenage boy, it's revolting...
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 04.ogg Shram: Hey, "revolting" is a little strong! ...Alright, fine, I'll admit it. That Water Imp "friend" of mine... the truth is, we're dating.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 05.ogg Shram: I was just a bodyguard hired by her family, but the stars must have aligned, because sparks began to fly between me and their daughter... Hahaha, never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd get so lucky.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 odette 01.ogg Odette: We don't need details. Just get to the point.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 06.ogg Shram: Okay, okay. I'm just a little hesitant to reveal her name, that's all... You know how it is. These are delicate times...
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 07.ogg Shram: Even with me to protect her... If word gets out that she's dating a human, both the fae and human factions will give her a hard time.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: Really? Wait, no... That can't be...
Media:vo zdaq007 8 chugunov 02.ogg Chugunov: Huh? Shram... What the devil are you talking about?
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 08.ogg Shram: Hmm? Why is everyone looking at me like that? Surely you can understand where I'm coming from...?
Media:vo zdaq007 8 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: "Delicate times"...? "Factions"...?
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 09.ogg Shram: Uh... Yes? You know, the civil war? Last time I checked, the fae and the humans were still at each other's throats...
Media:vo zdaq007 8 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: If I'm not mistaken... the last significant civil war in Snezhnayan history was over four hundred years ago, when Her Majesty the Tsaritsa had just taken the throne and was consolidating her reign.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 shram 10.ogg Shram: ...Wh—What do you mean, four hundred years ago?
Media:vo zdaq007 8 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 8 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (What's going on here? Is Shram from the past?)
Media:vo zdaq007 8 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: Alright, Mr. Mitya, you win this round. As far-fetched as it is... it appears that your theory may be correct.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: I'm just as amazed as you are... I didn't even believe it myself, to be honest.
Media:vo zdaq007 8 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: Is someone going to explain what's going on here?
Media:vo zdaq007 8 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: From the look on your face, you've figured it out too, haven't you, (‍Traveler‍)?

(The clue to Shram's true identity is...)
(Optional — select option 1 — According to the theater's duty log, there seems to have been an extra person at the scene.)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): That seems to be the case. Shram's the extra person, but there's no way of learning his identity from this clue.
(Optional — select option 2 — A letter Vodyanitsa wrote to her family but never sent)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Vodyanitsa's private letter touches upon the history of the Water Imp aristocracy's exile, but reveals nothing about Shram's identity.
(Optional — select option 3 — A clue that has yet to surface)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 04.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 04.ogg (‍Traveler‍): No, the truth lies within the clues we've already discovered...
(Select option 4 — Investigation Report into the Alleged Theater Haunting)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): The theater's Ley Lines have been modified to block souls within its grounds from returning to them. Some souls can even wander this place forever.
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 05.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 05.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Mr. Shram's statement proves he is from hundreds of years ago...
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 06.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 06.ogg (‍Traveler‍): And according to the investigation report on the theater hauntings, Mr. Shram is very likely a lost soul wandering the theater.

(The true nature of the "extra person" is...)
(Select option 1 — A soul wandering the theater)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 07.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 07.ogg (‍Traveler‍): For some unknown reason, the soul that has been wandering the theater due to the Ley Line issues has joined our group and blended in...
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 11.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 11.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Yeah, that must be the immediate reason why the ticket count doesn't match the number of people present.
(Optional — select option 2 — The killer who hid in the theater ahead of time)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 08.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 08.ogg (‍Traveler‍): This is Mr. Valeriy's hypothesis. If there is no supernatural element to this incident, it's very likely to be true.
(Optional — select option 3 — Just an ordinary ticket dodger)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 09.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 09.ogg (‍Traveler‍): That's not it... If that's the case, we're back to square one.
(Optional — select option 4 — I personally)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 10.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 10.ogg (‍Traveler‍): I... don't think I'm that redundant.

("Death" is near. In this case, "Death" most likely refers to...)
(Optional — select option 1 — One of the recent victims)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 12.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 12.ogg (‍Traveler‍): The death of those victims is an irrefutable fact. It is the outcome of whatever's going on here. What we need to do now is find the "truth" within this information...
(Select option 2 — Someone who died long ago)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 13.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 13.ogg (‍Traveler‍): The contents of the investigation report have been verified. There are indeed Ley Line issues and wandering souls in the theater. "Death" likely symbolizes the deceased — Mr. Shram, for instance.
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 16.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 16.ogg (‍Traveler‍): "Death is near"... That must mean that there's a dead person in our midst. That's the truth, isn't it?
(Optional — select option 3 — Murder)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 14.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 14.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Since we discovered that Mr. Shram is from the past, it seems we need to broaden our assessment of this incident beyond the bounds of common sense.
(Optional — select option 4 — Lelek)
Media:vo zdaq009 13 hero 15.ogg Media:vo zdaq009 13 heroine 15.ogg (‍Traveler‍): All of last night, Lelek — that is, Odette — was under surveillance, which rules her out... We've basically proven Lelek's innocence.

(After selecting the correct options)
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: Yeah, the logic is clear now. The investigation report said that there would be souls stuck wandering the theater because the Ley Lines here are cut off.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: Mr. Shram must be one such soul, who died in the theater a long time ago. In which case... that also makes him our extra person.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: So when that note said "death is near," it must have been referring to "death" as in the deceased. People who died a long time ago.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 odette 01.ogg Odette: Someone who died a long time ago...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 04.ogg Mitya: In short, there's a dead person among us. The extra person we've been searching for is a ghost from the past.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 01.ogg Shram: You mean I'm a ghost? No, no, no... Don't make jokes like that, my man. There must be some mistake.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 02.ogg Shram: But even if I was dead, I know for a fact I didn't kill anyone these past two nights!
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yeah. Even if all that's true, the report also said the souls inside the theater can't affect reality, right? They're harmless.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 05.ogg Mitya: Hmm... Then, what if the problem isn't the souls at all... but the Ley Lines themselves?
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 06.ogg Mitya: The Ley Lines have a powerful ability to attract and devour souls. Let's say that the Ley Lines are like a "black hole," constantly seeking to engulf souls, but the souls that don't want to return are trying to avoid being sucked in...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 9 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Huh... Why does this analogy sound so familiar?)
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 07.ogg Mitya: What happens when the "black hole" can't achieve its goal? I'm only speculating here but, but... what if it ended up swallowing innocent souls by mistake? Or intentionally taking other souls to compensate?
Media:vo zdaq007 9 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: That could explain why we weren't able to determine a cause of death. If you're right, and their souls were devoured by the Ley Lines... it does make some sense.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: It does seem to explain a lot of the things we couldn't make sense of... Does that mean it's true?
Media:vo zdaq007 9 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 9 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Except there's no concrete evidence. Mitya is relying on a lot of logical leaps...)
Media:vo zdaq007 9 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 9 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Still, it seems like the best explanation we have under the circumstances...)
Media:vo zdaq007 9 odette 02.ogg Odette: Alright, so how could Shram not know that he's dead? Seems a little unlikely that he hasn't noticed anything unusual even after several days interacting with us.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 08.ogg Mitya: On the contrary, it's perfectly normal for a soul to wander the theater for centuries without questioning their existence or reason for being there. It's simply what's natural for them.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 03.ogg Shram: Uh... Um... Huh.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 04.ogg Shram: You know what, Mr. Brainiac? I think you might actually be right after all...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 05.ogg Shram: I'm trying to remember, and... Ugh... Even though my head feels like it's going to explode, I think... it's all coming back to me...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 06.ogg Shram: ...I was the one who didn't want to remember my own death. So I forced myself to forget.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: Well... I'm sure those are painful memories.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 07.ogg Shram: My lady and I snuck out to go on a date one day. We bought tickets for the theater. It wasn't really my thing, but I was just happy to be together.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 08.ogg Shram: All of a sudden, a group of people burst into the theater, shouting for all the Water Imps to get out... performers and audience members included.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 09.ogg Shram: It was clear the conflict between humans and fae had reached a boiling point. This time, the extremists were even coming after the Water Imps who had nothing to do with the war.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 10.ogg Shram: I thought I could pull one over on them, so I took off my jacket, draped it over my lady, and tried to sneak out amid the chaos...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 11.ogg Shram: But I got caught. They started shouting, calling me a... a traitor to humanity.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 12.ogg Shram: But I was going to do whatever it took to buy her a chance to escape, no matter how many people stood in my way. I had to, both as her bodyguard... and out of love.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 13.ogg Shram: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: It's alright, friend. You can stop there if you want. You don't need to dig all that up again.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 14.ogg Shram: It's just... *sigh*... Even now, I'm still struggling to accept the truth. How could I... be dead?
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 15.ogg Shram: I'm... sorry, everyone.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 16.ogg Shram: If I'd known I was a dead man walking, I wouldn't have dragged you down with me, haha. If I'm the cause of all this death, then punish me however you see fit.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 ptashka 01.ogg Tonia: But Mr. Shram...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 17.ogg Shram: No, I refuse to be a burden. I know what I have to do. You said I've been wandering the theater for centuries, right?
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 18.ogg Shram: I guess it's high time I got a breath of fresh air... Out there, I mean. I'll leave this place, and take all this "death" with me. Go out on my own terms.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: Mr. Shram, I'm sure we can figure out a different course of action...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 19.ogg Shram: My good sir, we both know I'm not supposed to be here. I should have accepted my death long ago... One way or another, this has to end. Unless you're saying this goes against another one of your military principles somehow?
Media:vo zdaq007 9 valeriy 03.ogg Valeriy: No, I'm speaking on a personal level this time.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 20.ogg Shram: Let it go, man. ...Oh, wait, one last thing. Miss Water Imp, my... my lover — her name was Litiya. Litiya Ozerova. Do you know what happened to her?
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Ozerova... Oh, Auntie Ozerova! That's what we all called her. I remember her as a very kind elder! She had a bunch of kids too!
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 21.ogg Shram: Hahaha... Ah, I'm so glad she survived. And she had lots of kids? Good. That's... good. I could hardly expect her to stay single just because of what happened to me, right? Haha...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 22.ogg Shram: As long as she went on to be happy, that's all that matters. *sigh* Besides, I'm dead. My soul has been wandering around here for so long because I was worried about her. But now... I can go without regret.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 shram 23.ogg Shram: There's no need to see me off, my friends. I've enjoyed our time together over these past few days. Perhaps... we'll meet again in the next life.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 chugunov 02.ogg Chugunov: Take care... my man.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 ptashka 02.ogg Tonia: I know Mr. Shram was already dead, but... I still feel so sad.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 mitya 09.ogg Mitya: Death is cruel, no matter how we might try to make sense of it...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: So, was the conflict between fae and humans really that bad back then? I was only little, so I don't remember much. It's terrible to think that so many innocent people had their lives turned upside down...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: Even the historical records about that time period don't say much about it.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 06.ogg Vodyanitsa: All people know is that the Tsaritsa founded the Fatui, drove out most of the fae aristocracy without explanation, then used her terrifying power to suppress the humans.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 valeriy 04.ogg Valeriy: It seems to me like the Tsaritsa chose to make herself the enemy. She downplayed the conflict, directing whatever animosity both sides had for each other at herself instead.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 valeriy 05.ogg Valeriy: That's also why, despite how brutal the conflict was at the time, there hasn't been much lingering tension between humans and fae since. Things have been fairly harmonious for the past few centuries.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 07.ogg Vodyanitsa: So, the Tsaritsa banished the fae... to protect the fae living in the city? She offered herself up to be hated in exchange for peace...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 valeriy 06.ogg Valeriy: Maybe it's not quite as bad as it sounds. I don't think Her Majesty is too concerned if mortals hate her or not, and besides, there are very few who truly do.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 vodyanitsa 08.ogg Vodyanitsa: All this time, I had no idea...
Media:vo zdaq007 9 valeriy 07.ogg Valeriy: Alright, if Mitya's theory is correct, then I think we can consider this matter settled. Let's all take a break.
Media:vo zdaq007 9 chugunov 03.ogg Chugunov: *sigh* If only this blasted storm wasn't still raging on...
(Talk to Mitya and Valeriy, optional)
Media:vo dialog zdaq007 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: Even though Shram was already deceased, his decision to walk into the snowstorm was still a sacrifice, and a very brave one.
Media:vo dialog zdaq007 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: This is one of the few times I don't feel at all happy to have my theory proven true.
(Talk to Tonia and Vodyanitsa, optional)
Media:vo dialog zdaq007 ptashka 01.ogg Tonia: Well, at least it seems like Mr. Shram stayed optimistic until the end.
Media:vo dialog zdaq007 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: The information he revealed... it's given me a lot to think about.
(Talk to Aloysha, optional)
Media:vo dialog zdaq007 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: At least the lingering regret that kept him here has been put to rest. That's not necessarily a bad thing.
(Talk to Chugunov, optional)
Media:vo dialog zdaq007 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: I was actually planning on hiring him as my bodyguard after we got out of here, you know... *sigh* Poor guy.

(Enter the room)
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Looks like now we can just rest until the snowstorm stops...)
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (I still can't believe Shram turned out to be a ghost who'd been in the theater for hundreds of years. To think he was dead this whole time... What a strange turn of events.)
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 01.ogg Odette: Knock, knock.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): ...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 02.ogg Odette: Knock, knock.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 04.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 04.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Uh... You know the door isn't closed, right? You don't have to knock.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 03.ogg Odette: Think of it as a signal then. When I'm entering someone else's room and I knock, I'm here as Odette. If I don't knock, it's Lelek.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Sure, whatever makes you happy.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Please come in, Miss Odette.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 04.ogg Odette: Thanks.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 05.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 05.ogg (‍Traveler‍): So, why did you come to find me? Is there something I can help with?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 05.ogg Odette: Vodyanitsa said you knew about my secret identity from the start.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 06.ogg Odette: But when everyone was discussing who Lelek could be, you were worried that revealing what you knew would be unfair to me, so you kept it to yourself, right?
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...That's what you wanted to talk about?
Icon Dialogue Talk White You just came here to thank me?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 07.ogg Odette: Yes, I'm extremely grateful for that.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 06.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 06.ogg (‍Traveler‍): It's nothing. I mean, you didn't hold what happened with Signora against me, so... I should thank you for that as well.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 08.ogg Odette: Actually, there's something else as well... I've found myself in a situation similar to the one you were in when you helped conceal my identity.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 09.ogg Odette: So I thought I'd come and ask you for advice.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'm honored.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What's the situation?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 10.ogg Odette: It's about Mitya...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 11.ogg Odette: Before all of this, the last time I saw him... He was dead.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What!?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 12.ogg Odette: As I'm sure you know, my goal as Lelek was to stop Project Stuzha.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 13.ogg Odette: Well, when I found out the tech lead for the experiment behind Project Stuzha was Mitya, I immediately started planning to track him down and threaten him to back out.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 14.ogg Odette: I often saw him around the theater, but I soon concluded that making my move there would risk exposing my identity...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 15.ogg Odette: So I decided to infiltrate the Armory Palace and go directly to his lab. That way, the threat would be much more effective.
Icon Dialogue Talk White That must be basically the most classified place in Snezhnaya...
Icon Dialogue Talk White If you managed to infiltrate it... You really do have what it takes to be a Harbinger.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 16.ogg Odette: Well... I suppose there was a bit of luck involved. But I am a Fatuus, so I already had some familiarity with the building's layout.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 17.ogg Odette: But when I finally made it to his lab, Mitya seemed to be... dead.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How did you know?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Are you sure he wasn't just dozing off?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 18.ogg Odette: I checked his breathing and his pulse. He had no vital signs whatsoever. I'm certain of that.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 19.ogg Odette: I thought maybe another anti-Project Stuzha activist had beaten me to it, and chosen a much more brutal method... so I made myself scarce.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 07.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 07.ogg (‍Traveler‍): That's why you were so on guard around Mitya that first night here.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 20.ogg Odette: Yes, when I saw him sitting in the audience during the performance, I could barely contain the shock...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 21.ogg Odette: To me, it was a miracle. Somehow, he'd come back from the dead... But then, the murders started happening and things got so complicated that it wasn't really at the front of my mind.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 22.ogg Odette: That is, until Mitya himself said there must be a dead person among us... Then, I couldn't ignore it any longer.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 08.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 08.ogg (‍Traveler‍): And yet... You thought that bringing it up right away would single Mitya out, just like when everyone was suspecting Lelek.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 23.ogg Odette: Exactly. I thought there could be something I was missing...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 24.ogg Odette: Besides, we soon figured out that Mr. Shram was a ghost, and we knew there was only one extra person, so we thought he had to be the one.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 09.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 09.ogg (‍Traveler‍): But now, it seems like there's another candidate...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 10.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 10.ogg (‍Traveler‍): I understand why you kept it to yourself. There was so much information being thrown around during that discussion, bringing up Mitya would have just introduced more confusion.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 25.ogg Odette: So, what do you think we should do?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 11.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 11.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Let me confirm one thing first. When was it that you found Mitya dead?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 26.ogg Odette: Around a week ago. Sometime in the afternoon.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 12.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 12.ogg (‍Traveler‍): A week ago... That's earlier than I thought. I saw him just a few days ago at a restaurant. That definitely would have been after you found him dead.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 13.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 13.ogg (‍Traveler‍): He seemed completely normal to me. Chatting with Vodyanitsa, trying to avoid Valeriy...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 27.ogg Odette: So he was definitely alive on that day. Huh... Well, all I can say is, I know what I saw.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 14.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 14.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Here's a thought. The reason we even suspected a dead person could be among us was because of the problem with the theater's Ley Lines...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 15.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 15.ogg (‍Traveler‍): But Mitya's death happened inside the Armory Palace. The Ley Lines affecting the theater shouldn't reach that far.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 28.ogg Odette: You're right. I guess he doesn't fit the profile of the person we were searching for.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 16.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 16.ogg (‍Traveler‍): I think the chances of it being him are very low. Surely he can't have died for real in the Armory Palace... Unless...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 29.ogg Odette: Unless what?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 hero 17.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 10 heroine 17.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Unless he really did come back from the dead.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 30.ogg Odette: ...Hmm, you're right. Do you think we need to disclose this to the others?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: Huh? What's this? A private meet-and-greet?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 31.ogg Odette: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 10 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: Where do I line up?
Media:vo zdaq007 10 odette 32.ogg Odette: ...That's not what's going on here.
Media:vo zdaq007 10 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: Haha... Well, I was just making the rounds. Thought I'd try to lighten the mood a bit. Vodyanitsa's handing out food if you're hungry.
(Approach the stage)
Outside, the snowstorm continues to rage, and before you know it, night falls once more.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: What is going on with this storm? Could it be connected to that monster that just arrived in Snezhnaya?
Media:vo zdaq007 11 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: I almost hope it is. Her Majesty the Tsaritsa left to vanquish that beast herself. We just need to wait for her triumphant return.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 02.ogg Chugunov: Do you think... people still feel the cold after they die? I'm wondering about Shram... Maybe we should have given him a coat before he went out there.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: Death itself is cold, isn't it? I'm sure the storm will embrace him.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Well, I hope he has a safe journey. I'm going to miss him, I think... It's not like we can blame him for Rampana and Kulish's deaths.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: Thinking back on it, we barely made it out alive ourselves...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Once we get out of here, how are we going to explain what happened to their families...?
Media:vo zdaq007 11 ptashka 01.ogg Tonia: *cough*... *cough*...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 03.ogg Chugunov: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 04.ogg Chugunov: ...Are you okay? Here, take this. I've never used it.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 ptashka 02.ogg Tonia: *cough*... Thanks...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: Look who's Mr. Nice Guy all of a sudden. Is it because Tonia stood up for you this morning? At least you know how to return a favor.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: Yeah, without Tonia, who knows how badly he would have been hurt.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: *sigh*... I told you already, I never intended to resort to violence.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 05.ogg Chugunov: ...Bunch of rascals.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 06.ogg Chugunov: Um... Little girl, I was rather surprised when you spoke up for me this morning. I didn't think I had many admirers here, so, um... Thank you.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 ptashka 03.ogg Tonia: Oh... No need to thank me. I said some bad stuff about you too...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 07.ogg Chugunov: I've been too embarrassed to admit it, but, uh... You remind me a lot of my daughter.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 08.ogg Chugunov: So kind to everyone, but never lets her old man off the hook... Unless my wife and I are having a fight. Then, she's always on my side...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 09.ogg Chugunov: Especially when she was little. Every time I took her out—
Media:vo zdaq007 11 ptashka 04.ogg Tonia: *cough*... *cough*...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 10.ogg Chugunov: Alright, easy now... How long have you had that cough, Tonia?
Media:vo zdaq007 11 ptashka 05.ogg Tonia: *cough*... I don't know. It's probably been a while... *cough* I'm fine.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 11.ogg Chugunov: Are you taking anything for it?
Media:vo zdaq007 11 ptashka 06.ogg Tonia: Yeah. I'll be fine once I see my brother. He's gonna pick some Frostfairy Flower leaves and brew a tonic for me. I'll feel much better once I drink that.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 12.ogg Chugunov: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 11 chugunov 13.ogg Chugunov: I see. That's good to hear, then.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 valeriy 03.ogg Valeriy: We should probably discuss arrangements for tonight. Now that the deceased has left our midst, there shouldn't be any more incidents.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 valeriy 04.ogg Valeriy: However, out of an abundance of caution, I'll keep watch.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 odette 01.ogg Odette: Shouldn't we take shifts? I can take one if needed.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 valeriy 05.ogg Valeriy: No need. I managed to get a nap in earlier, so I have plenty of energy right now. After all the tension of the past few days, everyone else should just focus on getting a good night's sleep.
Media:vo zdaq007 11 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 11 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (What a long day... This whole situation turned out to be way more complicated than I expected...)
Media:vo zdaq007 11 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 11 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (But Valeriy's right. I should just try to calm down and get some rest... The last thing I want is to give myself nightmares.)
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 01a.ogg Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 01b.ogg Chugunov: (‍He‍/She‍)'s awake... (‍He‍/She‍)'s awake! Get over here you big lug, and take a look!
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: If you must call me something, call me Mr. Door. The black mist is coming. You need to go.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Where are we?
Icon Dialogue Talk White "Black mist"... Haven't I heard that before...?
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 02.ogg Chugunov: Are you alright? Can you walk? We just got attacked by monsters on our way up. That Mr. Door fellow protected us.
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 03.ogg Chugunov: He just seemed to come out of nowhere. Not much of a talker, but when it comes to taking down monsters, that man doesn't hold back...
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 04.ogg Chugunov: Curses. The black mist is catching up to us. We need to keep going.
(After the dialogue)
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 05.ogg Chugunov: Mr. Door... Um, I don't believe I've ever seen you around here before. Why is that?
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: There's no need to try and get to know me. I'm just Mr. Door. I have to find the door that belongs to me.
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 06.ogg Chugunov: Oh... Well anyway, we're lucky to have you here. Thanks for saving us earlier...
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 03.ogg Valeriy: No need to thank me. This is where my duty lies.
(After defeating the second group of enemies)
Chugunov: Remarkable work, Mr. Door! If I had your muscles, I'd do the same!
(Condition missing)
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 07.ogg Chugunov: Are none of these doors the one you're looking for?
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 04.ogg Valeriy: No.
(After defeating the third group of enemies)
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 10.ogg Chugunov: I'm so exhausted... and the black mist is still rising... *sigh*...
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 11.ogg Chugunov: Wait, look! There's more monsters down there! Are they coming from within the black mist?
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 12.ogg Chugunov: No, no! They're gaining on us! Quick, keep going, or they'll be at our heels any second!
Valeriy: ...
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 13.ogg Chugunov: Mr. Door! What are you doing!? We need to get out of here, they're coming!
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 06.ogg Valeriy: Found it.
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 07.ogg Valeriy: This is my "door."
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 14.ogg Chugunov: Wh—What? You mean, you're going to stay here?
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 08.ogg Valeriy: I am a door. This is where my duty lies.
Icon Dialogue Talk White So he meant a door for closing, not for opening...
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 15.ogg Chugunov: No! You saved us. We can't leave you behind!
Media:vo zdaq007 12 valeriy 09.ogg Valeriy: You must keep going. A door can only keep things out for so long. You must make haste.
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 16.ogg Chugunov: But...
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 17.ogg Chugunov: ...You're right. Let's go! We can't let Mr. Door's sacrifice be in vain!
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 18.ogg Chugunov: The black mist isn't moving anymore. Looks like both the monsters and Mr. Door are gone.
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 19.ogg Chugunov: I... I didn't just imagine all that, did I?
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 20.ogg Chugunov: Surely, I wasn't so scared out of my mind that I hallucinated a door as a human being?
Icon Dialogue Talk White No. I remember Mr. Door too.
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 21.ogg Chugunov: Okay, good... There's no way we both hallucinated the same thing.
Media:vo zdaq007 12 chugunov 22.ogg Chugunov: ...Hmm? Getting sleepy? Well, looks like we're safe for now. Go ahead. Let's get some rest...
