UI Quest Quest Description

After settling the incident in Svetloledovka, your questions about the current situation and Project Stuzha only increase. To gain more intel, you decide to make contact with the mysterious Rokot...
(Talk to Paimon, optional)
Media:vo dialog zdaq004 paimon 01.ogg Paimon: The boss is gonna give Paimon a copy of the latest newspaper to read. Hehe, that should keep Paimon entertained!
(Talk to Sytin, optional)
Media:vo dialog zdaq004 sytin 01.ogg Sytin: Hello again. Please rest assured, we'll keep a close watch on this place.
(Approach Alyosha at The Korolevskiy Theater)
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: Ah, you made it. I've got some tickets, and I managed to set something up with the Rokot.
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: It'll have to wait until after the show, though. Happy to stay and watch? I doubt you've seen the Korolevskiy Troupe on stage before.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Of course, no problem!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Thank you for sorting everything out.
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 03.ogg Alyosha: Pleasure. Here, this is the way in.
Media:vo zdaq004 1 kulish 01.ogg Kulish: Please present yourself for a routine inspection in accordance with theater regulations. Thank you.
(Off to the side by one of the front pillars, a man that appears to be some kind of high-level Fatui officer is watching the crowd preparing to pass through security)
Media:vo zdaq004 1 valeriy 01.ogg ???: ...
(As Alyosha is going through inspection, the Traveler waits their turn and notices the officer)
Media:vo zdaq004 1 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 1 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Uhh... Is that guy with the Fatui? Looks like he's waiting for something...)
Media:vo zdaq004 1 kulish 02.ogg Kulish: Okay, all done. Thank you for your cooperation. Please proceed through to the theater.
(The Traveler passes inspection and has a pondering look as they rejoin the waiting Alyosha)
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 04.ogg Alyosha: What's up? Everything okay?
Icon Dialogue Talk White I wasn't expecting such strict security here...
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 05.ogg Alyosha: Snezhnaya's business and political leaders are always passing through here, so it makes sense that security's tight.
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 06.ogg Alyosha: Still, it's a little unusual to see the Fatui's Armory Palace guard here... You saw him, right? The guy right at the back — strong, silent type. His name's Valeriy.
("Valeriy" is added to Guiding Notes)
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 07.ogg Alyosha: He's part of the Special Assignments Battalion, but I only ever see him here for one thing — to look for a guy named "Mitya."
Icon Dialogue Talk White Mitya? Who's that?
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 08.ogg Alyosha: Supposedly a researcher, though he never seems to put much time in at the office. The theater is one of his favorite places to hang out when he's playing hooky from work.
Media:vo zdaq004 1 alyosha 09.ogg Alyosha: But that's not for us to worry about. Let's go, the show's about to start.
(The two enter the grand auditorium)
Media:vo zdaq004 2 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: What do you think? Pretty impressive, huh?
Icon Dialogue Talk White It reminds me of the Opera Epiclese.
Media:vo zdaq004 2 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: Oh, the one in Fontaine? I hear it's iconic. Never seen it for myself, though.
(Alyosha finds their row and they make their way past other audience members who are already seated)
Media:vo zdaq004 2 alyosha 03.ogg Alyosha: Here we are, just in time. Sorry, coming through.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Excuse us.
Media:vo zdaq004 2 chugunov 01.ogg Chugunov: Hmph, if you're gonna show up late, keep your mouths shut.
Media:vo zdaq004 2 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 2 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (What's his problem!? ...Whatever, no point arguing with people like that.)
Media:vo zdaq004 2 alyosha 04.ogg Alyosha: Look, there she is. That's who I'm introducing you to later. She's the lead singer of the troupe, Vodyanitsa.
You watch Vodyanitsa's performance...
(A cutscene plays)
(The spotlight illuminates Vodyanitsa's lone figure in the center of the grand stage)
(As she performs her aria, the audience closes their eyes and sways along, entranced)
(Her performance ends with a flourish of shimmering stage effects, and the audience files out)
(Cutscene ends)
Media:vo zdaq004 2 alyosha 05.ogg Alyosha: This leads directly to the greenroom. They're expecting us. Vodyanitsa will be waiting for us there.
(Approach the marked location)
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: Hey there, excuse me.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Ugh, can you believe it? I am so mad right now... Come in!
Media:vo zdaq004 3 odette 01.ogg Odette: Oh... it's you two.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I wasn't expecting to see you here.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: Huh? You know each other? Oh, wait. Is this who you were telling me about? The one you met yesterday and couldn't stop thinking about?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 odette 02.ogg Odette: I never said that.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yes, you did! Why are you denying it? It was right before I went on that rant about the moody factory owner! Oh, I remember it so clearly...
Media:vo zdaq004 3 odette 03.ogg Odette: Might I ask what brings you two here?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 02a.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 02b.ogg Alyosha: Oh, I just brought (‍him‍/her‍) here to see the show, and when it finished, (‍he‍/she‍) was full of praise for Vodyanitsa's performance.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 03.ogg Alyosha: So, I thought I'd try my luck, see if we could get the chance to chat for a bit... maybe get an autograph...
Media:vo zdaq004 3 odette 04.ogg Odette: You work here... You of all people ought to know that's against the rules. It's not what the greenroom is there for.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: Oh, what's the big deal? Come on, don't be shy. I can give you an autograph. You can take a picture too if you want.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 odette 05.ogg Odette: ...Do as you please.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 odette 06.ogg Odette: I've finished all my shows for the day. I'll leave you to chat.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: I wasn't making that stuff up, you know. Odette's just too proud to admit it.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 06.ogg Vodyanitsa: She thinks very highly of you. And so do I. You did the right thing in Svetloledovka.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 04.ogg Alyosha: ...We're good. Odette's out of earshot — I'll lock the door.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 05.ogg Alyosha: Confidentiality, of course. The Rokot is very strict on that.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 07.ogg Vodyanitsa: Whoa, Alyosha! Not out loud! Not with an outsider here!
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 06.ogg Alyosha: Relax, I've taken care of it. Look at this.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 08a.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 08b.ogg Vodyanitsa: The president's reply, sent this morning... Wait, so... (‍he‍/she‍)'s been approved to join!?
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...As in, me?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 07.ogg Alyosha: You told me last night that you wanted to get intel from the Rokot. Unfortunately, Rokot intel is only available to members.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 08.ogg Alyosha: But ever since you set foot in Snezhnaya, we've been working together. I've seen the way you work, your character, and your motives.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 09.ogg Alyosha: Everything about you is perfectly in alignment with what we're trying to achieve in the Rokot. So I figured I might as well cut to the chase...
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 10.ogg Alyosha: I wrote a letter to the president explaining your situation, including just the right amount of detail. His approval came very quickly.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 11.ogg Alyosha: Of course, it's still your decision whether you want to join or not. We'll respect your choice.
Icon Dialogue Talk White So that means you and Vodyanitsa...
Icon Dialogue Talk White You're both members?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 09.ogg Vodyanitsa: Well, assuming Odette was telling the truth and she didn't misjudge you, I guess we don't need to worry about you blowing our cover...
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 10.ogg Vodyanitsa: Still, you gave me a real fright! I didn't know that's why you came looking for me.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 11.ogg Vodyanitsa: Hmm... So that stuff you said about admiring my performance... was that just because Odette was here? Did you actually mean it?
Icon Dialogue Talk White No, no, I meant every word. I loved your singing.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 12.ogg Vodyanitsa: Hehe, now you're talking! That's what I like to hear.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 12.ogg Alyosha: Anyway, lemme give you a quick rundown of how things work. Like I said, the Rokot is a covert organization, and we hide our identities.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 13.ogg Alyosha: Members typically don't meet in person or even know each other's identities. This helps us maintain a high level of independence and secrecy.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 14.ogg Alyosha: Because of this, members are basically free to decide their methods without constraints, so long as the outcome of any activity doesn't violate the organization's principles.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 13.ogg Vodyanitsa: After all, we don't have any ostensible contact with each other. This way, if anything goes wrong, no one else will be implicated.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 15.ogg Alyosha: Beyond the freedom to choose how you operate, it's also your choice whether to act at all. We have plenty of members who have yet to take any action.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 16.ogg Alyosha: In short, joining the Rokot in and of itself won't place any restrictions on your activity in Snezhnaya.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 17.ogg Alyosha: There's a code of conduct you can read if it interests you. But basically, as long as you don't plan on using your anonymity to go around doing evil, you'll be fine.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 14.ogg Vodyanitsa: I tried reading it five or six times... never made it all the way through. Even the most lackluster script makes for more interesting reading.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Sounds good to me.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'm in.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 18.ogg Alyosha: Great. Then, I'll go grab an official application form. Be right back.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Since you keep your identities secret...
Icon Dialogue Talk White How come you two know each other?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 15.ogg Vodyanitsa: Hah... Well, Alyosha has this pet dog, you see. His name's Tugarin, and this one time, Alyosha brought him backstage.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 16.ogg Vodyanitsa: Tugarin took quite a liking to me, so I played with him for a little bit and fed him some treats.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 17.ogg Vodyanitsa: Then, the Rokot was out on a mission one day, and even though we were all in disguise, Tugarin recognized me right away.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 19.ogg Alyosha: Just a coincidence, really. We didn't report it to the higher-ups, though, to avoid dealing with the fallout.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 20.ogg Alyosha: Like... *sigh* my job at the theater, for instance. I really need it to make ends meet.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 21.ogg Alyosha: By the way, what were you complaining about just before we came in? Did everything go okay with Chugunov?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 18.ogg Vodyanitsa: Hmph, everything did not go okay. That's why I was so mad! I tried to make some small talk with him before I went on stage to fish for intel about the Iskra Manufacturing Plant.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 19.ogg Vodyanitsa: But he wouldn't take the bait. No matter what I said, he kept dodging the question.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 20.ogg Vodyanitsa: And then he started complaining! He said he didn't appreciate his second-rate seat in the stalls because he usually gets a private box...
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 21.ogg Vodyanitsa: I mean, what did he expect? Everyone knows that if you want a box seat, you buy a ticket well in advance! But instead, he sends me a letter the day before the show, when we're practically sold out!
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 22.ogg Vodyanitsa: I had to juggle things around just to get him a half-decent seat, hoping he would appreciate the gesture enough to share some information. But nope! He didn't give me anything!
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 22.ogg Alyosha: *sigh*... Yeah, meeting Chugunov in person has definitely been a disappointing experience...
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 23.ogg Alyosha: Oh, you probably don't know who we're talking about, do you? Chugunov was that older guy you were sitting next to today. I'm sure he didn't make a great first impression on you, either.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Oh. THAT guy...
Icon Dialogue Talk White Yeah. Seemed like a real grouch.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 23.ogg Vodyanitsa: To the citizenry, he's a family man and a kind boss.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 24.ogg Vodyanitsa: But our interactions with him tell a very different story... It's one thing to ask for a favor, but he acts like it's his right. He always expects special treatment.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 25.ogg Vodyanitsa: Take the ticket situation, for instance — I've actually gotten him a private box in the past. But not only was he not even grateful, now he's acting like I've sold him short this time!
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 26.ogg Vodyanitsa: Not to mention that he's never paid for a single one of his tickets! Hmph.
Icon Dialogue Talk White That's pretty outrageous...
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 27.ogg Vodyanitsa: And another thing! If he's such a big family man, why doesn't he bring his wife and daughter to see the show once in a while? I've never seen them here, not even once.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 24.ogg Alyosha: Calm down, Vodyanitsa. If he won't do it the easy way, we'll have to try the hard way.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 25.ogg Alyosha: But first things first — here's your application form. Go ahead and fill it out.
(Alyosha walks the Traveler to a nearby desk upon which lies a document)
(An application form appears on screen for the player to fill out with various available options)
Information Collection Form
Name Race Codename Reason for Application
My name is... My race is... My codename within the organization is... My reason for joining the organization is...
(‍Traveler‍) Human Wayfarer I oppose "Project Stuzha"
Monpai Fae Chest Mimic I want to [sic] ordinary people
Feyk Miller Dodoco Seamount Abyss I think the Rokot is cool
Awaj K'umilal Kan Pipilpan Idol The 12th I'm here to put an end to this organization!
Octa Tavia Janitor Bot King Jabberfries! I need a part-time job
Jenny Lil' Bell Primogem Lord of the Seven Calamities Mom told me to give it a try
You fill in the Rokot application form...
(If the form is filled out accurately)
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 28a 1.ogg Vodyanitsa: Excellent! We'll hold onto this for you.
(If the form is filled out inaccurately)
(Vodyanitsa looks at the form for a while, confused)
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 28b 1.ogg Vodyanitsa: Uh... Hmm, looks like I'll need to make a few little tweaks here and there... But other than that, you're good to go. We'll hold onto this for you.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 29.ogg Vodyanitsa: Alright! Now that we're officially Rokot comrades, I can tell you... Chugunov is the target of our current operation.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 30.ogg Vodyanitsa: Recently, we've done some recon work at the Iskra Manufacturing Plant, which pretty much confirmed that their energy consumption is way beyond the legal limit.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 31.ogg Vodyanitsa: All we need now is some direct evidence to present to the Veche, so we can demand that they shut the plant down.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 26.ogg Alyosha: That way, the Kresnik Kristall can be allocated to where it's needed most.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 32.ogg Vodyanitsa: I was hoping he might let slip during one of our chats, but he's too tight-lipped. We'll have to find another way.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 33.ogg Vodyanitsa: I'm meeting another regular theater-goer tonight. Mitya.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Alyosha mentioned that name earlier.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 27.ogg Alyosha: Ah... but Valeriy's here too, and he's probably looking for Mitya. So he may end up being a no-show.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 34.ogg Vodyanitsa: Hehe, don't you worry. He must know how to dodge Valeriy, or he wouldn't be showing up on time for every performance.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 35.ogg Vodyanitsa: Mitya is a renowned energy expert. Although we can't get any direct evidence of the excessive energy consumption at the plant, we can "accidentally" let the information slip to him.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 36.ogg Vodyanitsa: The authority should take someone like him seriously. So, if he starts raising questions about energy use at the Iskra Manufacturing Plant, there'll be a proper investigation.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 37.ogg Vodyanitsa: Also, we're not allowed on site, but he has clearance. So all we need is his cooperation.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Since he's an energy expert, does that mean...
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...He might know the inside story of Project Stuzha?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 38.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yeah, so that's the other thing we're trying to figure out... though I think we're far less likely to make any progress on that front.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 39.ogg Vodyanitsa: Still, I hear that Mitya is a bit of a chatterbox. So, who knows? Maybe if we catch him in the right mood, he'll let something slip.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 28.ogg Alyosha: What do you think? Sound like something worth your time?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Definitely. I'd love to join you.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 40.ogg Vodyanitsa: Okay. In that case, you guys find a seat somewhere nearby, pretend you're a couple of buddies there to eat, and keep your ears peeled for useful information.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 41.ogg Vodyanitsa: He's a huge fan, so I doubt he'll have his guard up around me. But you two need to be convincing. If he suspects anything at all, he might stop talking.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 29.ogg Alyosha: Sure. Don't worry, we'll make a believable pair of buddies.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'm sure we can manage a bit of friendly chit-chat.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 42.ogg Vodyanitsa: Perfect, you've sold me already! Now, help me tidy this room up a bit before we head out.
Media:vo zdaq004 3 alyosha 30.ogg Alyosha: Okay, what needs tidying?
Media:vo zdaq004 3 vodyanitsa 43.ogg Vodyanitsa: Everything.

(Enter Podvorye Restaurant)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: We come here often, so we shouldn't stand out. Let's sit here.
(Alyosha and the Traveler claim a nearby table as Vodyanitsa sits alone to wait for Mitya)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: Now, it's up to Vodyanitsa. Let's see how the conversation goes.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Ah, Mr. Mitya! Over here, over here!
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: Ah, sorry, I got a little held up on my way here. Now we have even less time than we planned...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: Go ahead and order some snacks and drinks — whatever you'd like. Let me see, according to my schedule... we still have twenty-five minutes left.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: Hmm, you're really pressed for time today, huh? I was imagining this would be a leisurely chat... If you'd prefer, we can always reschedule for another afternoon when you have more time.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: Hehe, no need. Getting to meet the lead singer is a very precious opportunity for me — I'm not about to pass it up.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 04.ogg Mitya: I've already had to decline your invitations several times because our schedules rarely align. If I don't grab this chance while it's here, who knows when the next one will come around.
(Mitya's scarf waves at Vodyanitsa)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Well, it's very kind of you to make time just for me.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What's going on with his scarf?
Icon Dialogue Talk White It's like it's alive...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 alyosha 03.ogg Alyosha: I'm not too sure, to be honest. But Snezhnaya's full of weird and wonderful things like that, so people tend not to bat an eye. I'm sure the same will go for the Eye of Graeae and Paimon.
Icon Dialogue Talk White That'll make getting around easier.
("Mitya" is added to Guiding Notes)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: The reason I invited you out for tea and a chat today was to get some feedback from a true fan of the theater.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 05.ogg Mitya: Well, I genuinely have nothing bad to say. No matter how many times I hear you sing, it never gets old. It always seems fresh and new somehow.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 06.ogg Mitya: Maybe it's because the more times I listen, the more details I notice. Or maybe you simply improve with every performance, delivering it better each time.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: Thank you, I'm delighted to hear that! Could you give me any specific examples?
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 07.ogg Mitya: Oh! Yeah, that, uh... the piece you sang today, for example. Uh, "Beneath the Frozen River"...?
(Vodyanitsa frowns while Mitya's scarf raises a "hand", seemingly looking at him incredulously)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 08.ogg Mitya: Hey, what's with you? I'm just praising a good performance.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 09.ogg Mitya: I always used to find that such a bleak and lonely song. But the more you listen, the more you realize that it's not as cold and nihilistic as it appears. When you really dig down into it, there's a certain level where you're surprised by the emergence of hope.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 06.ogg Vodyanitsa: Wow, I'm impressed. I didn't expect you to pick up on that. Actually, I only tried out that angle after talking with the composer.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 07.ogg Vodyanitsa: ...Still, Beneath the Frozen River wasn't on today's program.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 10.ogg Mitya: Oh, really!? But it's a classic... You sing it every time...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 08.ogg Vodyanitsa: Almost every time.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 11.ogg Mitya: Oh... haha, um... well then, let me say a few words about that other all-time classic, "Flying in the Wind" from "The Mountain Sparrow."
(Mitya's scarf wags a finger at him disapprovingly)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 09.ogg Vodyanitsa: I didn't sing that one today either. My voice wasn't quite up to it, so I switched it out at the last minute.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 12.ogg Mitya: Oh... but... uhh...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 10.ogg Vodyanitsa: Sorry, Mr. Mitya, but... You were at the theater today, yes?
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 13.ogg Mitya: Of course I was. Remember? I said hello to all the troupe members before the show started. You, Odette, and the others.
(Vodyanitsa leaves her seat and approaches Mitya)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 11.ogg Vodyanitsa: So what did Odette sing today?
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 14.ogg Mitya: ..."Elegy of the Snow-Winged Goose," of course!
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 12.ogg Vodyanitsa: Correct. I see... I see.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 13.ogg Vodyanitsa: You find my singing boring, don't you? That's why you don't remember a single song... Hmm. Looks like I'll need to cut a few from the program next time.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 15.ogg Mitya: No, that's not it! I swear!
(Mitya stands up hastily)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 16.ogg Mitya: Ah... Alright, I'll be straight with you. I'm sorry. My mind was wandering as you took the stage today.
(Mitya's scarf once again wags a finger at him disapprovingly)
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 17.ogg Mitya: I enjoy watching your shows because the exquisite performances stimulate the mind. It always sparks some inspiration for my research.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 18.ogg Mitya: So, whenever I get stuck at work, I come to the theater for a change of pace.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 19.ogg Mitya: Odette's dance during the Elegy of the Snow-Winged Goose today was simply incredible. It got me wondering what she's been going through recently...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 20.ogg Mitya: That look of sheer defiance in the face of utter tragedy... It was so inspiring, I started scribbling in my notebook right away.
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 21.ogg Mitya: Not that I made a ton of progress in the grand scheme of things, but I still think it was productive. By the time I snapped out of it, the entire show had finished...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 vodyanitsa 14.ogg Vodyanitsa: So what you're saying is, you didn't listen to my singing at all...?
Media:vo zdaq004 4 mitya 22.ogg Mitya: Unfortunately not... I'm sorry, I don't know which is more disrespectful: the fact that I don't always come for the show itself, or the fact that I missed your performance...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 4 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Seems like things are getting a little awkward... Hmm?)
Icon Dialogue Talk White You look nervous. What's up?
Media:vo zdaq004 4 alyosha 04.ogg Alyosha: Mitya just stepped into a conversational minefield. If there's one thing Vodyanitsa doesn't like, it's people who show disrespect for her performance...
Media:vo zdaq004 4 alyosha 05.ogg Alyosha: Ugh, this meeting was so hard to set up... Don't tell me it's already falling apart...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: ...Hmph.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: It's fine. I suppose this is... affirming in its own way. At least it shows that our performance really... touches people's hearts, right?
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: Don't let it bother you. It... certainly doesn't bother me.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 01.ogg Alyosha: She's showing a lot of restraint...
Icon Dialogue Talk White Must be tough.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: Well, I'll be sure to let Odette know how much you adored her performance.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: Please don't say that. I always love your performances too, it's just that inspiration struck at the wrong time today... I'm usually all ears.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: I know, I can tell. That's why I value your opinion.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 06.ogg Vodyanitsa: I'm sure some people can't stand it when others praise their coworkers right to their face, but not me. No sir.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 02.ogg Mitya: Fair enough. I still feel kinda bad, though...
(Mitya's scarf gives a thumbs-up)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 07.ogg Vodyanitsa: Ah, but you know what I really can't stand? People who only show up to the theater to pretend that they're cultured. Makes me sick to my stomach.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 03.ogg Mitya: Oh yeah, a hundred percent. There are too many of those people around. By the time they're walking out the door, they've forgotten all about the show.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 04.ogg Mitya: W—What's wrong? You look furious...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 08.ogg Vodyanitsa: I don't know if you've heard about the boss of the Iskra Manufacturing Plant... He isn't even a theater investor, but he always demands the same privileges as actual investors.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 09.ogg Vodyanitsa: Box tickets only, premium drinks... Even the right to request specific songs!
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 02.ogg Alyosha: Well played, Vodyanitsa... seems like she's harnessing her rage to steer the conversation back on track...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 05.ogg Mitya: Now that you mention it, I've interacted with that guy before. I gotta say... everyone holds him up as an example of a benevolent businessman, but... I dunno. I don't see it.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 10.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yeah, he couldn't care less about what's happening onstage. He's just there to flaunt his social status. I hate that I have to prepare programs for guys like that.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 11.ogg Vodyanitsa: What's the big deal with that factory he runs, anyway? I asked around a bit and heard some pretty shocking stories. Sounds like he's just another greedy capitalist.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 06.ogg Mitya: Oh, really?
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 12.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yep! The things people are saying are pretty damning. Low wages, insanely long working hours, equipment running around the clock... And as if that's not bad enough, he also strictly forbids his employees from giving any kind of interview.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 13.ogg Vodyanitsa: Project Stuzha has now been extended so many times, we're at the point where Kristall rations for the common folk are barely enough to survive on. Yet he even wants to get his greedy hands on them, just to boost his own profits...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 14.ogg Vodyanitsa: If the rumors are true, he's in serious violation of the law.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 07.ogg Mitya: Interesting. So you've heard about it too.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 15.ogg Vodyanitsa: What? So it's really true?
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 08.ogg Mitya: Haha, who knows? I've only heard the same rumors you have. But there's no smoke without fire.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 09.ogg Mitya: The Rooster's been coming down on us hard lately, demanding that we track and trace every single batch of Kristall. My coworkers in the Department of Energy have been tearing their hair out over it...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 16.ogg Vodyanitsa: The Rooster? I didn't realize he cared that much.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 10.ogg Mitya: Yeah. Even though there are no restrictions on Kristall trading, the poor will wind up freezing to death if we let the rich buy as much as they want. That's clearly unfair.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 11.ogg Mitya: Looks like we'll need to arrange an investigation into the Iskra Manufacturing Plant as soon as possible.
(Vodyanitsa nods happily)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 12.ogg Mitya: I never knew you kept up with current affairs beyond the theater, Miss Vodyanitsa. You really have a heart for the common person.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 13.ogg Mitya: Most fae in your position have long been indifferent to the plight of humans.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 17.ogg Vodyanitsa: Well, those of us who choose to live in human cities are naturally going to pay attention to any significant upheaval. Isn't The Rooster a fae himself?
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 18.ogg Vodyanitsa: I'm just surprised to learn that even someone with as much experience as him is getting so stressed out over Project Stuzha. What is the end goal of this project, anyway...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 5 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (This is it... We're finally going there...)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 03.ogg Alyosha: I'm sure Mitya can sense on some level that she's fishing for information. But since their conversation is so relaxed, he might just let something slip.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 14.ogg Mitya: *sigh* It's stressing me out, too. If I'd only made better progress with my research, things wouldn't have dragged on this long.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 19.ogg Vodyanitsa: Oh, so your work is related to Project Stuzha?
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 15.ogg Mitya: That's right. The Armory Palace needs a brand-new energy source — not the power of the Light Realm, and not elemental energy.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 16.ogg Mitya: Right now, the only thing that meets the requirements is the power contained within Stellar Linchpins.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 17.ogg Mitya: But harnessing that power is costly. Each step of the process requires enormous amounts of Kresnik Kristall, from extraction to quantification, to attempts at conversion.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 18.ogg Mitya: Progress has been painfully slow, and the team is getting burned out as time goes by. Sometimes I see people staring into space, as if in a trance...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 20.ogg Vodyanitsa: Could it be that this new energy source has side effects?
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 19.ogg Mitya: No, no. It doesn't affect us, because the energy is used for—
(Mitya's scarf suddenly wraps its "hand" tightly around his neck)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 20.ogg Mitya: Argh... Okay, okay, I got it! Stop choking me... Ahem... Sorry. I can't talk about that.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 21.ogg Mitya: I think we're all just... exhausted. We've been working ourselves to the bone for so long, with so little progress to show for it. It's no wonder people are struggling to stay motivated.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 21.ogg Vodyanitsa: ...Seems like I owe you an apology. I shouldn't have gotten so mad at you for not paying attention during the show.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 22.ogg Mitya: Haha, don't worry about it. I count myself lucky, to be honest. I don't envy the people who work closely with the Tsaritsa herself — I'd much rather be in my current position. At least I don't have to shoulder any major responsibilities.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 04.ogg Alyosha: So they're trying to develop a completely new kind of energy...
Icon Dialogue Talk White It's a shame we didn't get to hear more.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 05.ogg Alyosha: Yeah. Censored by his scarf. Who would've thought...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 23.ogg Mitya: Oh dear, it looks like my time is up. I'm afraid I have to leave.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 24.ogg Mitya: So sorry, we ended up barely talking about the theater...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 22.ogg Vodyanitsa: That's okay. It was a pleasure chatting with you, really.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 25.ogg Mitya: Let's make up for it next time. Hmm... Yeah, hopefully once the work pressure eases up a little, I'll be able to focus more on the performance, and then we'll have more to discuss.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 mitya 26.ogg Mitya: We touched on some confidential issues today... I'd be grateful if you could keep it between us.
(Mitya's scarf gives a final wave as he runs off)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 23.ogg Vodyanitsa: That could have gone worse.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 06.ogg Alyosha: Nice job. Why was Mitya in such a hurry to leave, though?
(Valeriy enters the building with two Fatui soldiers in tow)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 valeriy 01.ogg Valeriy: Sorry, routine inspection.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Is that... Valeriy?
(The soldiers perform a quick sweep of the restaurant and signal in the negative)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 valeriy 02.ogg Valeriy: ...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 valeriy 03.ogg Valeriy: Okay. Let's go.
(They leave as abruptly as they arrived)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 24.ogg Vodyanitsa: So he wasn't rushing to get back to work... He must have calculated that Valeriy would find him here in exactly twenty-five minutes. That's frighteningly accurate...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 07.ogg Alyosha: One of the main duties of the Special Assignments Battalion is to ensure that important figures stick to their schedules.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Sounds like Mitya's archenemy, then.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 vodyanitsa 25.ogg Vodyanitsa: Alright, time for us to get going too. Excuse me, check please.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 08.ogg Alyosha: We'll settle our check too, then.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 nefedov 01.ogg Nefedov: Hello there. Mr. Mitya paid the check before leaving.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 nefedov 02.ogg Nefedov: He also asked me to pass on a message. He said it was an honor to share his tea break with Miss Vodyanitsa and her two friends.
Media:vo zdaq004 5 alyosha 09.ogg Alyosha: Wait...
Media:vo zdaq004 5 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 5 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (So he knew we were here all along? Hmm, this raises a lot of questions... Did he deliberately mention the new energy source so that we'd overhear it?)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 5 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Maybe his work isn't confidential after all — maybe the key here is the purpose of this new energy... I guess that's the next thing to look into.)
(Vodyanitsa and Alyosha say their goodbyes and leave the restaurant)
Media:vo zdaq004 5 hero 04.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 5 heroine 04.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Hmm... Vodyanitsa and Alyosha have left. Time to head back and call it a day.)
(Approach Paimon in the room upstairs)
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 01.ogg Paimon: You're back! You're pretty early today.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How are you feeling?
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 02.ogg Paimon: Paimon was just gonna mention that! After she woke up today, Paimon felt like her temperature was completely back to normal, but her strength still hasn't returned...
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 03.ogg Paimon: Still, there's some good news. Paimon thinks she might've figured out the source of the problem.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 04.ogg Paimon: It's like there's... some kind of mysterious power affecting Paimon. Paimon's never felt this way before during any of her travels.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 05.ogg Paimon: She only started feeling this way since we arrived in Snezhnaya...
Icon Dialogue Talk White Some kind of mysterious power, you say...?
(The Traveler remembers Mitya's words)
Media:vo zdaq004 6 mitya 01.ogg Mitya: That's right. The Armory Palace needs a brand-new energy source.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 6 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Could that have something to do with this?)
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 06.ogg Paimon: What is it? You're making that face again. Y'know, the one you get whenever you have a lightbulb moment.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Let me tell you what I found out today.
(The Traveler recounts their conversation with Mitya)
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 07.ogg Paimon: ...So, they're trying to develop a new energy source here... And you think that might be why Paimon's feeling unwell?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Yes.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 08.ogg Paimon: Hmm. Well, Mitya denied that the energy they're researching has any side effects — although he did say that people working on the project have been having issues with their concentration and short-term memory...
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 09.ogg Paimon: But even so, those are completely different symptoms from Paimon's.
Icon Dialogue Talk White This power you mentioned...
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...Can you sense where it's coming from?
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 10.ogg Paimon: It's pretty faint, so it's kinda hard to tell... But if anything, it seems like it's coming from roughly the same direction as the Armory Palace.
Icon Dialogue Talk White All the more reason to find out the purpose of their research.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 11.ogg Paimon: Sure, Paimon's with you there. But how, though? The Rokot only has a limited amount of intel...
Icon Dialogue Talk White There's still one avenue we haven't explored...
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...The Snezhnograd Veche.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 12.ogg Paimon: Oh, great point! They argue about Project Stuzha every day. If we could sit in on one of their sessions, we might pick up some new leads.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Okay. I need to write a letter to Alyosha.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 13.ogg Paimon: Good idea. Oh yeah — while you were out, Paimon tried all the yummiest-looking desserts in the Podvorye Restaurant.
Media:vo zdaq004 6 paimon 14.ogg Paimon: This one seemed right up your alley, so Paimon saved some for you! Come try it once you've finished writing your letter.

(Pass time)
Media:vo zdaq004 6 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 6 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Alyosha replied. He says that we won't be able to speak at the Veche, but he can arrange for us to attend as visitors.)
Media:vo zdaq004 6 hero 03.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 6 heroine 03.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Time to get ready... then head to the Snezhnograd Veche.)
(Talk to Paimon, optional)
Media:vo dialog zdaq004 paimon 02.ogg Paimon: You're back! Paimon's been working on the crossword puzzle in the newspaper. It's actually pretty fun!
Media:vo dialog zdaq004 paimon 03.ogg Paimon: Oh shoot, Paimon forgot the next word! She had it a moment ago... Think, Paimon, think...
(Approach Vodyanitsa in front of the Snezhnograd Veche State Hall)
Media:vo zdaq004 7 mironova 01.ogg Mironova: Ah, Miss Vodyanitsa, prima donna of the Korolevskiy Troupe! What a surprise, meeting you here. Will you be sitting in on a session of the Veche?
Media:vo zdaq004 7 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: Sorry, I'm not taking interviews today...
Media:vo zdaq004 7 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: Oh good, you're here. The session's about to begin — let's get inside.
Media:vo zdaq004 7 mironova 02.ogg Mironova: Please wait, Miss Vodyanitsa...! Could you introduce me to your new friend?
Shortly after you take your seat, the meeting of the Snezhnograd Veche officially begins. Discussions on whether to extend Project Stuzha are saved until the end.
As "The Rooster," Pulcinella shares various energy-related statistics, the dull and lifeless room suddenly becomes very animated.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 01.ogg The Rooster: In summary, the energy management commitments made for the outgoing period have been delivered upon. Furthermore, both the production and consumption of Kresnik Kristall show clear signs of stabilizing.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 02.ogg The Rooster: The relevant agencies have assessed the present circumstances and determined that the status quo can be sustained until the next period. For detailed statistics, I would refer you to the industry reports that have been distributed to all persons present.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 03.ogg The Rooster: It should also be noted that while the recent blizzards have led to a significant increase in people's energy expenses, this is strictly a short-term phenomenon associated with a remotely located monster.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 04.ogg The Rooster: Her Majesty the Tsaritsa is giving her full attention to this matter. We should have every confidence that it will be dealt with swiftly and conclusively.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 05.ogg The Rooster: A financial report on disaster relief is also present in this report, courtesy of Pantalone.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Why does it keep getting noisier in here?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: *sigh* They cover the same old ground every single time. The Rooster never seems to mind, but everyone else is getting tired of it.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: There's a general lack of trust. People aren't seeing any tangible benefits that affect them directly. Of course, none of that will be reflected in any of the reports on the table.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 01.ogg Mironova: Yeah, if it weren't for these hard-copy documents, I could've at least made something up...
Icon Dialogue Talk White I've been meaning to ask... why are you still here?
Icon Dialogue Talk White And why are you acting so chummy?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 02.ogg Mironova: Don't mind me, I'm just out here trying to hit my interview quotas. "Bring Out the Kvass!" Ever read it? Best-selling newspaper in town.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: If I remember correctly, you guys don't even have a sales permit... You have to sell from stalls on the street...
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 03.ogg Mironova: Okay then, "best-selling street stall newspaper in town." Still counts!
(Mironova cheerily pours herself a drink)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 06.ogg The Rooster: Order.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 07.ogg The Rooster: We will now open the floor to the representatives. If there are no further substantive issues to discuss, we will then proceed to a vote on this motion.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 01.ogg Childe: Snezhnaya has a long tradition of treating members of the Fatui armed forces and their dependents favorably.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 02.ogg Childe: But recent survey shows that Fatui families in remote areas have access to 15% less Kristall than the average civilian family in Snezhnograd.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 03.ogg Childe: It's been said many times before, but it bears repeating now: There needs to be a clear and consistent rationale behind how Kristall is allocated, or we will soon face immense public backlash.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 01.ogg Regrator: Perhaps you wouldn't need to keep repeating yourself if you would hear me out for once... I say again, true consistency exists only in principle. In the real world, fairness is relative.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 02.ogg Regrator: You appear to treat resource allocation as a simple function of production and population. So what about when the equipment used in production breaks down? Have you factored that into your equation?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 03.ogg Regrator: And do you even know how long it's been since Snezhnaya last conducted a census?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 04.ogg Childe: If I knew the answers to questions like that, I'm sure I'd be a very wealthy man — and I doubt I'd be going by "Childe."
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 05.ogg Childe: I'd like to bring the focus back to the specific issue I raised. Or do you wish to deny that favorable treatment for Fatui dependents is our longstanding policy?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 04.ogg Regrator: Ah, it's easy to be a critic when there's no accountability. That seems to be a running theme in the anti-Project Stuzha cohort.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 05.ogg Regrator: Defeat the ringleader, and all other problems will magically resolve themselves. That's what they seem to think.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 06.ogg Regrator: But in case you aren't aware, not one jot in my report would change, whether Project Stuzha continues or not.
(Tartaglia slams his hands on the table)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 06.ogg Childe: So you have no intention whatsoever of finding a solution to this problem?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 07.ogg Regrator: On the contrary, I'm the only one here who ever brings solutions.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 04.ogg Mironova: Childe opened by speaking up for the armed forces. Regrator struck back with style, and a war of words ensued!
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 05.ogg Mironova: Our reporter was live on the scene to get the audience's reaction as it all unfolded: Who do you support?
Icon Dialogue Talk White I think Childe raised some issues that need addressing...
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 06a 1.ogg Mironova: The people have spoken! Childe received raucous applause from the crowd as he pushed Regrator onto his back foot with a relentless barrage of questions. It had to be seen to be believed.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I think Regrator's rebuttal makes sense...
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 06b 1.ogg Mironova: The people have spoken! Regrator delivered a deft rebuttal to Childe, as we've seen so many times before. Ah, but how could Childe take this lying down?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: Now you see why they don't have a sales permit.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Hmm...
Media:vo zdaq004 8 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 8 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (However this reporter wants to spin things, I haven't forgotten that Tartaglia was representing the Northland Bank when we first met in Liyue.)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 8 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (So surely their relationship can't always have been this strained...)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 marionette 01.ogg Marionette: You two are getting off-topic. Let's focus on what the data is saying.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 arapov 01.ogg Arapov: Mr. Pantalone, may I speak on your behalf?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 08.ogg Regrator: Oh, please do. I'm more than happy to save my breath.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 arapov 02.ogg Arapov: Kristall distribution policy undergoes modifications with each new period, the ultimate goal being to find the most reasonable method of allocation, which I believe is what Mr. Tartaglia also seeks.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 arapov 03.ogg Arapov: But I fear many may have been misled on this topic by extremist activists. To clarify, Project Stuzha is not the root cause of the problem. It is merely a framework for resource distribution.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 arapov 04.ogg Arapov: The most recent reports all point to Snezhnaya's resilience and adaptability during this period of fine-tuning, and give clear indications that the distribution framework is improving with each iteration.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 arapov 05.ogg Arapov: To make drastic adjustments without first considering the risks would likely do more harm than good. It would be a waste of the hard-won experience we've gained to date.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 07.ogg Mironova: Renowned scholar of finance, Arapov spoke up to clarify the fiscal logic, clearly alluding to social organizations like the Rokot in his words.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 08.ogg Mironova: With the notorious Lelek still active to this day, should the Rokot be held responsible? No, there is someone else to blame!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Where did you get "Rokot" from?
Icon Dialogue Talk White And who is this "Lelek"?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: She's just rephrasing what Mr. Pantalone said. The Rokot are the critics he accuses of taking no responsibility for their actions.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 06.ogg Vodyanitsa: As for Lelek... You won't have heard of him yet. He's currently the most famous member of the Rokot... Well, more like infamous.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 07.ogg Vodyanitsa: Ending Project Stuzha has become an obsession for him. Unlike the more decent ones among us, he believes that votes in the Veche are all that matter.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 08.ogg Vodyanitsa: So whether it's threats, coercion, or bribery, he'll use whatever means necessary to get people to change their vote.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Wow. There's more to the Rokot than I thought...
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 09.ogg Mironova: And since we're already on the subject, what do you think of Lelek's methods? Are you for or against?
Icon Dialogue Talk White I can sympathize with him.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 10a 1.ogg Mironova: Yes, don't we all! Lelek's supporters grow in number by the day. We stand with Lelek!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Hard to say. I suspect there's more to his story.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 10b 1.ogg Mironova: Well, whatever the story is, his actions benefit us all. We stand with Lelek!
Icon Dialogue Talk White He seems a little extreme.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 10c 1.ogg Mironova: Despite a handful of detractors among the audience, the people overwhelmingly support Lelek. We stand with Lelek!
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 07.ogg Childe: At least someone here wants to take this discussion seriously. I've been considering that issue myself — what you really need is more precise regional data, right?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 08.ogg Childe: I think it would be easiest to let the Fatui handle it. Since they're already in charge of Kristall shipments anyway, we may as well get them to collect some data while they're at it.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 09.ogg Childe: Whatever you need, you can ask the Fatui to look into it for you. In terms of supervision, I think the Druzhna would be a good fit. I had hoped to discuss this with Miss Vesna, but sadly she's not present.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 akvilina 01.ogg Akvilina: I will be happy to take a note of your suggestions and present them to Commander Vesna for a decision upon her return.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 akvilina 02.ogg Akvilina: The Commander has always taken a keen interest in Project Stuzha. However, given the Druzhna's demanding workload, I'm afraid it may prove difficult for them to provide any practical support.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 08.ogg The Rooster: Let us refrain from jumping to conclusions until a concrete and actionable plan is in place.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 akvilina 03.ogg Akvilina: My apologies, Lord Rooster.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 09.ogg The Rooster: There are numerous issues to address here, including manpower, time-sensitivity, and reporting lines.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 10.ogg The Rooster: Nevertheless, I support drafting a proposal. Follow the usual procedure, and it can be raised as a new motion for all parties to evaluate at the appropriate time.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 sharova 01.ogg Sharova: In that case, I'd like to share one thought before the proposal is drafted. The issue of time-sensitivity was raised just now, which I presume relates to the official reports.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 sharova 02.ogg Sharova: In fact, the Energy Commission already collects regular statistics on each urban center and its surrounding area. Would these be of any use?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 marionette 02.ogg Marionette: That's a good idea. I read every issue of Svetloledovka's report, and although my focus is mostly on the section about equipment operation, the energy consumption statistics also yield a lot of insights.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 11.ogg The Rooster: Be that as it may, does no one see an issue with using local data to determine Kristall quotas? In the long-term, it seems like a very risky solution...
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 09.ogg Regrator: Not if they are used purely for reference. So long as we have the report from the Northland Bank's headquarters to corroborate it, no one will be able to fool me.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 12.ogg The Rooster: Very well then. It appears that this arrangement is acceptable to all parties.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 10.ogg Childe: Yeah, sounds good to me.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 11.ogg Mironova: The members reached a provisional consensus on the issue of improving treatment for Fatui soldiers... *yawn*
(‍Traveler‍): (You notice the reporter jot down a few words before suddenly crossing everything out and starting a fresh paragraph...)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 12a.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 12b.ogg Mironova: Today, the prima donna of the Korolevskiy Troupe attended a session of the Snezhnograd Veche in the company of a (‍dashing young man‍/most charming young lady‍). The question on all of our minds is: What is the true nature of their relationship?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 09.ogg Vodyanitsa: Write anything like that again and I'm revoking your permission to interview the troupe, got it?
The remaining discussion covers everything from energy to healthcare, technology, and industry. All parties take the opportunity to express their stance on Project Stuzha.
You ignore Mironova as she carries on writing her sensationalist report. But after a while, you start to feel that reading the news from her might actually be more interesting than being here in person...
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 13.ogg The Rooster: Now then, if there are no further contributions from those present, we shall proceed to the final vote.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 10.ogg Vodyanitsa: Hey, check it out!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Is that... Chugunov?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 vodyanitsa 11.ogg Vodyanitsa: What made him vote against? Why now...?
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 14.ogg The Rooster: The votes have been tallied. Those in favor of continuing Project Stuzha total sixty-one percent, securing a clear majority.
Media:vo zdaq004 8 tartaglia 11.ogg Childe: (That was too close... The margin has shrunk yet again. Chugunov was a huge loss...)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 marionette 03.ogg Marionette: (I'll bet Lelek is behind this... I wonder how Pulcinella will respond this time.)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pantalone 10.ogg Regrator: (Chugunov... I see. Lelek strikes again.)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 mironova 13.ogg Mironova: (Yes, go Lelek! Once Project Stuzha is defeated, our unwavering support at "Bring Out the Kvass!" will finally pay off when we make our comeback! Haha, I can taste our victory already!)
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 15.ogg The Rooster: In accordance with the result of this vote, Project Stuzha will remain in effect until the next Veche period. Finally, may I remind us all:
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 16.ogg The Rooster: "We debate only for the greater glory and solidarity of our nation. May the aurora shine ever on and the tundra always stand firm."
Media:vo zdaq004 8 pulcinella 17.ogg The Rooster: The session is concluded.
(Talk to Vodyanitsa)
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 01.ogg Vodyanitsa: I have to say, I really wasn't expecting Chugunov to vote against Project Stuzha.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Why? What's so strange about that?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 02.ogg Vodyanitsa: Well, in principle, Snezhnaya's business and political elites ought to be the ones least likely to oppose it.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 03.ogg Vodyanitsa: As we heard, Project Stuzha is basically just a resource distribution framework that requires everyone to cut back during the winter.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 04.ogg Vodyanitsa: But even if the policy got canceled, the Tsaritsa's energy needs wouldn't suddenly go down. The extra demand from the public would have to be filled from somewhere, so logically, the factories would have to take the hit.
Icon Dialogue Talk White This explains a lot...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 05.ogg Vodyanitsa: I got a letter from Mr. Mitya just before today's session. He said he's confirmed that there are issues around overtime and excessive energy consumption at the Iskra Manufacturing Plant.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 06.ogg Vodyanitsa: In a situation like this, once The Rooster receives the report, he'll order the factory to halt production and submit to an investigation, before issuing a penalty.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 07.ogg Vodyanitsa: But that's a week-long process, and thus didn't make it onto the Veche agenda this time. I don't think he suspects anything so far.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Got it, so for him it's a choice between reducing production and stopping entirely...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 08.ogg Vodyanitsa: Exactly. And as you know, he's a very selfish person.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 09.ogg Vodyanitsa: I was originally gonna try and flip him after he received notice of the official sanctions. My plan was to convince him that the whole thing was completely unfair.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 10.ogg Vodyanitsa: Rather than just sit back and take the hit while his factory stopped production, he'd be better off voting to end Project Stuzha. At least that way, no one else would be able to make any money either, because all the factories would suddenly have more limited energy to work with.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 11.ogg Vodyanitsa: But now, he's already voted against it... which means, someone must've used more forceful means to change his vote. Just like with everyone else who flipped.
Icon Dialogue Talk White You mean, Lelek?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 12.ogg Vodyanitsa: Yeah. No one knows why Lelek is so obsessed with ending Project Stuzha, but by the looks of it, he's inching closer and closer to success.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 9 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Lelek must have strong motivations, given how he'll stop at nothing to achieve his goal. Maybe he knows the full truth of Project Stuzha.)
Media:vo zdaq004 9 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 9 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (Maybe my next step should be to focus on him.)
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 13.ogg Vodyanitsa: Alright, what're your plans for the rest of the day? Shall we head out?
(Tartaglia, Sandrone, and Likhachev walk up to them)
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 01.ogg Childe: Hey, comrade. I noticed you were here during the debate.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 01.ogg Marionette: I didn't take you for a political enthusiast.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 14.ogg Vodyanitsa: Greetings, Harbingers. I just happened to have some free time today, and my new friend here thought it might be fun to check out the Veche.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 02.ogg Childe: Ah, Odette must've introduced you. Haha, looks like you two are getting along pretty well.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 vodyanitsa 15.ogg Vodyanitsa: I'll leave you to catch up. I should head back to the troupe.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 02.ogg Marionette: Sure. Break a leg, and all that.
(Vodyanitsa leaves)
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 03.ogg Marionette: "Thought it might be fun to check out the Veche," did you? Heh, things are never that simple with you, (‍Traveler‍). There's no way you're here for kicks and giggles. Tell me I'm wrong.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I learned an interesting tidbit today.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Some guy called "Lelek."
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 03.ogg Childe: Oh, yeah. To some, he's a captivating enigma. To others, he's the bane of their existence.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 04.ogg Childe: No one ever thought that some anonymous nobody from the Rokot could cause such a stir.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I want to find out his true identity.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Is it okay if I start digging around?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 05.ogg Childe: Huh? You want to look into Lelek? Haha, then I'm sure his days of anonymity are numbered. What do you think, Sandrone?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 04.ogg Marionette: Fine by me, I guess. If (‍Traveler‍) actually manages to expose Lelek, it'll be doing Pulcinella a favor.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 05a.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 05b.ogg Marionette: In return, it seems fair to let (‍him‍/her‍) in on what we've learned so far.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 06.ogg Childe: My thoughts exactly. Sharing is caring, after all.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 07.ogg Childe: Head back to Glupov and grab the files on Lelek. It's easier to just pull the records than go through the rigmarole of getting the Traveler a visitor's permit.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 likhachev 01.ogg Likhachev: As you command, Childe, Sir.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 06.ogg Marionette: In that case, since we're going to be waiting anyway, I'll have someone brew a pot of black tea.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 08.ogg Childe: One common thread among the many incidents Lelek has been involved in is that the victims are all too scared to share any real information about him. Clearly, he must have threatened them in some way.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 09.ogg Childe: His modus operandi is to silently infiltrate the scene and leave a threatening letter behind. But neither the letters nor the crime scenes ever yield any clues to his identity.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 10.ogg Childe: So all these files have to offer are short statements by the people affected. They don't give us a lot to go on.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 07.ogg Marionette: If nothing else, it shows we're dealing with a trained professional who's versed in counter-surveillance.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 11.ogg Childe: Yes, and to that point, he often strikes in highly secure locations. The victims are high-ranking and influential people who take their personal security very seriously.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 12.ogg Childe: Somehow, Lelek slips right into their rooms without making a sound. There's never any eye-witnesses, nor the slightest trace of a break-in.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 13.ogg Childe: If he can get in and out undetected, it means he can strike without warning... Not that that's ever happened so far. But the thought is enough to scare these people sleepless.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 14.ogg Childe: It's hard to believe that a human being could pull this off flawlessly every time, so they switched the focus of the investigation to fae. Unfortunately, no one's found anything yet.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Are you saying even you couldn't pull it off?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 15.ogg Childe: Careful — don't underestimate me... Heh, although truth be told, I'd probably find it hard not to blow my cover. Direct confrontation is more my style.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 08.ogg Marionette: We haven't ruled out the possibility of Lelek being human. It's just, there can only be a handful of people in all of Teyvat who'd fit the profile. Fae, on the other hand — plenty would have the ability, but few would have the motive...
Icon Dialogue Talk White So it's someone as strong as Tartaglia...
Icon Dialogue Talk White And even more meticulous...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 16.ogg Childe: No, no, not as strong as me — you'll never find the culprit with criteria like that. Let's go with... "a little weaker than me."
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...Neuvillette?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 17a 1.ogg Childe: Argh, you hit me right where it hurts... I'll admit, he's strong and meticulous. But can we at least limit this to candidates who have something to do with Snezhnaya?
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...Skirk?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 17b 1.ogg Childe: There's no denying that master is strong, but meticulous? We can only hope...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 09a.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 09b.ogg Marionette: (‍He‍/She‍)'s just trying to find a reference point. Stop getting fixated on who's stronger than who.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 18.ogg Childe: But that's the most important thing! In my opinion, anyway.
(The Traveler puts their hand to their head in exasperation)
Icon Dialogue Talk White Alright, alright, let's take it down a notch or two.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How about Odette as a reference point?
Icon Dialogue Talk White She's someone we all know, and I've seen her in action.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 10.ogg Marionette: Odette? Yeah, that seems about right. Her skills are solid, and she's always calm under pressure.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 19.ogg Childe: Except she's Fatui, so the likelihood of her working against us is pretty low... But yeah, much more accurate than your previous example, at least.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 11.ogg Marionette: ...No, wait a moment. Maybe we should interrogate that assumption.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 20.ogg Childe: What do you mean? Which assumption?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 12.ogg Marionette: Her Fatui identity doesn't necessarily exonerate her. And when you think about it, the Rokot would be precisely what she needs to conceal her identity.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 21.ogg Childe: Hmm... plus, she wouldn't need to be such a pro at covering her tracks. She'd already know where the Fatui will be and when, so she could choose the perfect time to act...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 22.ogg Childe: Yikes. I was just thinking out loud... Why is this starting to sound like such a convincing theory?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 23.ogg Childe: Still... What reason could Odette possibly have for trying to call off Project Stuzha?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 13.ogg Marionette: Arlecchino would be the best person to ask — she knows Odette best. Unfortunately, she isn't back yet.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Arlecchino?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 14.ogg Marionette: Rosalyne used to open up to her in private about her struggles with Odette.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 15.ogg Marionette: As I'm sure you can imagine, Arlecchino is quite a lot better with children than Rosalyne was.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 16.ogg Marionette: She gave her some tips on how to handle the situation, and Rosalyne managed to reach a settlement with Odette before leaving. So I suppose there were at least no lifelong regrets left behind.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 17.ogg Marionette: Beyond that, I don't know the details about that side of things. But I do know that Odette definitely has a motive to hold a grudge against Project Stuzha.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 18.ogg Marionette: The reason being, her father passed away during the early stages of the project.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 19.ogg Marionette: That was back before it'd been named Project Stuzha, when things were still being worked out. But in essence, it's remained the same ever since.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 24.ogg Childe: Huh, the more you know... Rosalyne was always so self-centered. I never understood why she started paying so much attention to Odette.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Oh, even you didn't know about this?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 25.ogg Childe: Hah, is that such a surprise? If you cast your mind back, you may remember that Rosalyne and I weren't exactly close... We had tea together a few times, but that was about it.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 20.ogg Marionette: Odette's past is no secret. Her father was a Fatuus, and her mother was a very famous ballerina.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 21.ogg Marionette: On the surface, it looks like she followed right in her parents' footsteps... But the truth is quite a different story.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 22.ogg Marionette: After her father passed away on a mission, her mother was overcome with grief. She broke her leg during a performance and could never dance again.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 23.ogg Marionette: Odette was only interested in ballet at the time, but this tragedy left the family with both breadwinners gone. They could barely make ends meet...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 24.ogg Marionette: Per Capitano's policy, family members of Fatui who died in the line of duty had to be appropriately accommodated and provided with adequate assistance.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 25.ogg Marionette: So, regardless of how Rosalyne may have felt about it, it fell to her to resolve the issue of Odette's family's livelihood. In the end, the solution they agreed upon was to have Odette join the Fatui.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 26.ogg Childe: Right, because the alternative would have been a one-off compensation payment, I guess? In that sense, joining up was definitely the better option.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 27.ogg Childe: Still... She must have had mixed feelings about it, right? If she doesn't even like the Fatui...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 26.ogg Marionette: It's just a theory. A possibility. But as a motive for Odette to become Lelek, it holds up.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 27.ogg Marionette: That said, I have no idea where Odette's head is at right now, or what her conflict with Rosalyne was about.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 28.ogg Marionette: Plenty of people were on bad terms with Rosalyne. I have no intention of trying to figure it all out.
Icon Dialogue Talk White So Signora actually wanted to mend her relationship with Odette...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 29.ogg Marionette: Yes, but there's not much point in discussing that now.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 28.ogg Childe: Yeah, back to Lelek. Since our investigations so far have turned up next to nothing, we've got nothing to lose by trying a new angle.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 29.ogg Childe: Funnily enough, Tonia and I had actually made plans to go to the theater tomorrow to watch Odette's rehearsal. Unfortunately, thanks to this Lelek situation, I'll be stuck working overtime again.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 30.ogg Childe: Which means you can go in my place. No point wasting the ticket, plus you'll get to meet Tonia.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What's the rehearsal for?
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 30.ogg Marionette: "Spirit Seeker," quite the classic ballet. It was passed down through Odette's mother's family for generations, though it hasn't been performed in years.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 31.ogg Marionette: But Odette's been practicing it diligently, and it's finally ready for a return to the stage. Excitement is through the roof. Tickets for the official performance sold out long ago.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 31.ogg Childe: Tonia's excited for it too. She's desperate to see it, no matter what. Personally, it's not really my kind of thing, but since she's my little sister, I had to figure something out.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 32.ogg Marionette: I've actually seen it several times before. The story's pretty straightforward: The lead character follows a trail of clues left behind by a spirit, gradually recovering her memories along the way.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 33.ogg Marionette: It's a tale of love and regret — so not exactly reinventing the wheel, at least by today's standards...
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 34.ogg Marionette: But when that classic melody kicks in and the lead character begins to dance, it always gets me. It really is beautiful.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 marionette 35.ogg Marionette: Not an easy dance to do justice to, though. I know it's always been Odette's dream to perform this piece, but I'm not sure she's really ready.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 32.ogg Childe: ...In that case, I think that even if she is Lelek, we should wait until her performance is over before we respond.
Media:vo zdaq004 9 tartaglia 33.ogg Childe: I'll let you take it from here, comrade.

(Approach Paimon in Podvorye Restaurant)
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 01.ogg Paimon: Sounds like you made a ton of progress today! Hehe, it's good that everything's going so smoothly.
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 02.ogg Paimon: Next step is to head back to the theater and get a clear answer from Odette.
Icon Dialogue Talk White It could be easier said than done...
Icon Dialogue Talk White Even if she's the one, she won't necessarily admit it.
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 03.ogg Paimon: Either way, Paimon doesn't get the sense that she's a bad person. Sure, she might have done some pretty extreme things, but Paimon bets she has her reasons.
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 04.ogg Paimon: Maybe this is going too far, but like... With everything she's managed to do so far, wouldn't it make more sense in theory to be even more... y'know, heavy-handed?
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 05.ogg Paimon: Why leave a letter when she could... um... well, we know there are plenty of other ways to keep people in line, right? The point is, she could've gone further, but she didn't.
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 06.ogg Paimon: So if it is her, she's got some principles, at least.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I want to believe in her, too.
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 07.ogg Paimon: Yeah... Well, all you can do is follow the facts wherever they lead.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How are you feeling today?
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 08.ogg Paimon: No change, really. But that thing Paimon told you about yesterday... Paimon feels like she can sense it more clearly now.
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 09.ogg Paimon: *sigh* Hearing you talk about your day makes Paimon itch for an adventure! If only she could be there with you so we could experience it all together...
Media:vo zdaq004 10 hero 01.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 10 heroine 01.ogg (‍Traveler‍): Yeah, I wish you could be there too. I'm not used to adventuring alone. But don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this.
Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 10.ogg Paimon: Hehe, guess it's just one of those things. Never mind — Paimon will behave herself and keep resting!
Media:vo zdaq004 10 hero 02.ogg Media:vo zdaq004 10 heroine 02.ogg (‍Traveler‍): (If Odette is Lelek, she may well have inside information on Project Stuzha...)

Media:vo zdaq004 10 paimon 11.ogg Paimon: Hey look, it's snowing... Could be a tough day ahead. Make sure you wrap up warm tomorrow!
(The Traveler smiles back and nods in response)

Trivia

  • When filling in the Information Collection Form for the Rokot, the player's response options include several references:
    • Monpai — Paimon, but with the syllables reversed.
    • Feyk Miller — Reed Miller, with "Feyk" likely pronounced as "fake."
    • Awaj K'umilal Kan — one of the Thirteen Sovereign Lords, possibly Ajaw.
    • Octa Tavia — Octavia.
    • Jenny Lil' Bell (王小美 Wáng Xiǎoměi in the Chinese version) — Several localizations use this as a callback to the Archon Quest Solitary Fragrance in Chapter I: Act III - A New Star Approaches, when the player has the option to forget (or "forget") Ganyu's name when greeting her. The incorrect name in Solitary Fragrance is Yangu in English and 王小美, a generic stand-in name, in Chinese.
      • The French, Thai, and Portuguese localizations use Yangu as the Rokot form option despite using Xiaomei or Wang Xiaomei as their incorrect names for Ganyu in Solitary Fragrance.
    • Seamount Abyss (海山谷淵 in the Chinese version) — Enjou, combining all of his aliases (Enjou, Sanka, Kokuchuu, and Hayne) without the directional indicators.
    • The 12th — the non-existent twelfth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers.
    • Lord of the Seven Calamities — a moniker for the Heavenly Principles used by the Frostmoon Scions.
