Tempus Carpite "Seize the Time" in the title and lyrics may be a reference to the Latin aphorism Carpe diem "seize the day," taken from the Odes, a work by the Roman poet Horace.
- The second and fourth lines of the lyrics may be a reference to Matthew 6:34:
  Nolite ergo solliciti esse in crastinum. Crastinus enim dies sollicitus erit sibi ipsi: sufficit diei malitia sua.
  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
