Turenna
Last updated 2026-07-28
Turenna is an event-exclusive NPC who first appeared in the event Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta.
Location
- During Roses and Muskets
Profile
Turenna first appeared as a trainee in the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol under the Maison Gardiennage. She officially joined after being trained under Drillmaster Enghiene. As a newcomer in the Special Patrol, her duties were to monitor foreign creatures, provide the highest levels of assistance to special guests, and resolve issues that were beyond the ability of ordinary Gardes.
During the Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta event, Turenna was assigned by the Maison Gardiennage to assist and monitor Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta preview event that was held by Haniyyah in the Court of Fontaine. She also assigned a Gardemek to take care of Bongo-Head and Kindlejoy. After being introduced to the Traveler and Paimon by Haniyyah, she became a big fan of them and held them in high regard, referring to them as "Super Zenith Boss-Level Forces".
During the Roses and Muskets event, she managed the shooting simulator titled "Thousand-Pace Interdiction Arcminute Sharpshooting Zone" for the Fontinalia Festival and assisted Chevreuse in the arrest of Morris and Veronique.
By the time of the Operation Downpour Simulation event, Enghiene realized she'd known Turenna for four to five years. Considering her former trainee an experienced veteran now, she determined that it was time that Turenna started teaching new recruits herself.
Appearance
Turenna has brown hair and eyes. She wears the female-variant of the standard Garde uniform — a cobalt blue uniform with golden adornments.

Event Dialogue
Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta
Available after completing the quest Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta!, but before completing the event stage Lil' Fantasy, Maguu Battle!.
- Turenna: Also, please consider giving me more coaching if you have the time! I intend to become... a master tactician!
Then let me teach you again!
- Turenna: Aye, aye! Don't go easy on me!
Since when did I become your leader!?
- Turenna: Oh! Sorry! I've already started imagining what it would be like with you in the Special Patrol... Although I'm afraid we still can't offer you millions of Mora per month.
- Turenna: But if you ever meet Captain Chevreuse, well, she might just write you a recommendation for a salary like that!
Chevreuse?
Captain?- Turenna: She's the Captain of our Special Patrol. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say she's one of the greatest musket sharpshooters in Fontaine, period!
- Turenna: We members of the Patrol are generally skilled at using muskets, but she uses them like they're an extension of her hand!
- Turenna: They say she can shoot out a candle's flame without damaging the candle itself from over a hundred paces away with even the most ordinary, mass-produced musket.
- Turenna: The current leaders of every squad in the Patrol are either sharpshooters who have been personally taught by her or have undergone strict evaluation.
- Turenna: As a newbie who's just joined, I can barely make a shot from around a hundred and fifty paces away... And it has to be against a head-sized target.
Whoa! What kind of marksmanship is that!?
- Turenna: Ugh... I knew you'd say something like that...
- Turenna: Well, I haven't practiced enough, but I'll work harder! I aim to get 2,000 rounds of practice in this month!
Whoa? You're that accurate?
- Turenna: Nah, I'm just alright! With your skill, it wouldn't even take that long for you to surpass me!
- Turenna: Anyway, if we get the chance, I'll teach you a little about muskets.
- Turenna: Anyway, please consider joining the Special Patrol or at least become a Special Member, would you?
Let's talk about you first...
- Turenna: Me? I'm just a newbie in the Special Patrol, so I haven't accomplished anything praiseworthy...
- Turenna: It's why I was sent to manage Ms. Haniyyah's Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta.
- Turenna: Of course, this doesn't mean that the Patrol considers it a trivial task.
- Turenna: I only took over the job and started gathering information from up close after verifying that Ms. Haniyyah's Fungi companions weren't dangerous.
- Turenna: In the event that we did encounter dangerous monsters, and if the situation warranted it, then we would have dispatched numerous sharpshooters in conjunction with the Gardemeks...
- Turenna: The Gardemeks would lead the monsters into a killbox, and the sharpshooters waiting in ambush there would loose a hail of bullets upon them...
- Turenna: In this way, we'd able [sic] to keep the monsters pinned while preventing any undue effects on the service life of the Gardemeks.
That sounds amazing!
- Turenna: Not at all! It's just one of our most basic tactics!
Can that be used on me?
- Turenna: That's not funny. You're not an imaginary enemy... Or I should say that unless the captain led the team herself, no ordinary tactics would be capable of suppressing you...
- Turenna: If you're interested in the Special Patrol's tactics, I'll bring a handbook along and introduce them to you next time!
- Turenna: Anyway, please consider joining us, or at least becoming a Special Member!
Then you can start with some self-reflection...
- Turenna: A—Alright! Ugh... I'm still too weak...
Roses and Muskets
Available after completing Spread Out Less Than An Arcminute!
- Turenna: Super Zenith Boss-Level Force, do you have any further instructions?
Let's play a round of "Thousand-Pace Interdiction Arcminute Sharpshooting Zone"!
- Turenna: No problem! This game doesn't use up any real ammunition, and the targets don't require maintenance, so you can play as many rounds as you like!
About muskets...
- Turenna: Oh, interested in a custom-made musket of your own?
- Turenna: Though I couldn't tell you exactly how muskets work myself, I do recall hearing colleagues mention the names of several outstanding gunsmiths.
- Turenna: In terms of their lifespan, accuracy, and ballistic stability, there's simply no comparison between a mass-produced musket and one that has been painstakingly crafted by a gunsmith...
- Turenna: And if you're using high-quality ammunition, produced to very tight tolerance levels, then get ready for some jaw-dropping results!
- Turenna: But I seem to remember that regular citizens aren't allowed to carry muskets, at least not without having first cut through an absolute sea of red tape...
- Turenna: Tell you what, when I return to the Special Patrol headquarters, I'll ask around for you!
See you around!
- Turenna: Nice to meet you again, Super Zenith Boss-Level Force! I'll be here waiting for you, drop by whenever you'd like!
Mutual Security Enhancing Simulation
Dialogue Set #1
Available after completing Commanders and Wargames, but before completing Scenarios for Study.
- Turenna: Turenna of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, reporting to Proto-Boss! Greetings! Seeing that you're participating too really makes the trip down here totally worth it!
Since when did I become a "Proto-Boss"?
- Turenna: Aha, that's Captain Chevreuse and Captain Grosrochard's assessment of you! The highest acknowledgment of both the Special Patrol and the Gardes!
- Turenna: You've been promoted from "Boss-Level Force" to "Proto-Boss"! That means not only are your fighting skills up to par, but you're the cream of the crop when it comes to commanding as well!
- Turenna: Doesn't the fact that that Staff Officer from the Millelith Su Ding invited you to join prove it?
- Turenna: The simulation was pretty interesting! I got to see some of the greatest fighters from other countries for myself, and how they dealt with monsters was simply dazzling! It was just like all the stuff you showed me before...
- Turenna: Oh! Sorry, I know you're a super busy bee buzzing all over, so you might not be able to remember right away!
- Turenna: When I was playing Lil' Fungi's Fun-Tastic Fiesta before, you gave me the gift of your insight...
- Turenna: And during the Fontinalia Film Festival, you showed me just what a real top gun could do in our Thousand-Pace Interdiction Arcminute Sharpshooting Zone promotional event. That was a genuine revelation...
- Turenna: I've made pretty significant progress lately, and haven't had too many missions on my docket, so when Captain Chevreuse and Captain Grosrochard got the invitation, they decided to send me as a representative!
- Turenna: The Patrol members you taught are all slowly getting better. I'm working hard to become an outstanding sharpshooter capable of helping you! Trust me, the time you spent helping wasn't wasted on me!
Hey, give yourself some credit too...
- Turenna: You're simply too kind, Proto-Boss! ...Anyway, I just can't thank you enough!
Then study hard and work hard, soldier!
- Turenna: Understood, Proto-Boss! I'll do my best!
- Turenna: I'll be joining in a few more simulations over the next few days! The mini-monsters they use each time are different, and it kinda feels like my brain is playing in a series of... magnificent... tactical plays!
About the Special Patrol and the simulation...
- Turenna: Actually, this isn't our first time working with the Millelith. As you know, Lumidouce Harbor and Yilong Wharf are just across the sea from each other, so we have a longstanding working relationship to maintain order and guarantee the safety of shipping.
- Turenna: So, after Captain Chevreuse got the letter, she was pretty stoked! After all, every time we work together, both sides learn a lot about tactics and tech from one another!
For example?- Turenna: Hmm, let me think... Before, we learned about different Millelith formations with layered ranks, and so we improved our own ranked volley fire, stabilizing the rhythm of our musket volleys.
- Turenna: And for their part, the Millelith improved their own equipment by studying our muskets, allowing them to better deal with criminals who may have smuggled in firearms or Ruin machines that utilize similar weaponry.
- Turenna: I've heard that some Millelith smiths are researching a type of armor that consists of piecing together blocks of a specially fired type of ceramic between two pieces of a particularly sturdy hardened fabric...
- Turenna: That way, when bullets strike the armor, they would first disintegrate upon striking the outermost layer, causing the projectile to lose its structural integrity and greatly reducing its penetrative power...
- Turenna: As the bullet continues onward, the ceramic plate in the middle will break, absorbing the vast majority of the impact, and finally the powerless, deformed bullets will be stopped by the final layer of armor.
- Turenna: Against muskets with a small enough caliber or light enough ammo, you could get shot at point-blank range and the bullet still might not get through!
That sounds pretty nifty.
I want a set too!- Turenna: Aha, for that you'll have to ask our Millelith friends. I expect armor like that costs a fortune, and it may be difficult to manufacture on a large scale. Also, it may be too heavy for ordinary people...
- Turenna: Though according to legend, the Millelith that fought in the great war way, way long ago wore armor that was heavier than a Gardemek, and their weapons were comparable to naval artillery... So it probably isn't too heavy for them.
- Turenna: And ordinary musketeers wouldn't have a chance at hitting someone as skilled as you, so you probably don't need extra protection like that!
Keep it up, I've gotta get going!
- Turenna: Don't be a stranger, I hope we'll see each other soon!
Dialogue Set #2
Available after completing Scenarios for Study.
- Turenna: The Wargames are nearly over, Proto-Boss. Su Ding mentioned that your work all went pretty smoothly, yes?
It did indeed! How's it all gone for you?
- Turenna: It's been great, we've gotten so much out of it!
- Turenna: In the Wargames, we came up against many highly mobile opponents, such as flying Fungi.
- Turenna: Weapons like muskets, which are slow to fire and require precision, aren't very effective against such foes.
- Turenna: To make up for this, we focused on improving our ability to implement rapid rotation tactics in smaller squads. Compared to our previous formation-based way of shooting, our combat style has become a lot more flexible!
- Turenna: All in all, these Wargames have helped us identify weaknesses in our tactics, so we now have a much clearer idea of what we need to work on. I'm pumped, to be honest!
That's great. See you next time!
- Turenna: Yes, yes! And you're welcome to pay us a visit at the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol's headquarters at any time... if you can find it!
Operation Downpour Simulation
Dialogue Set #1
Available after completing Operation Downpour Simulation (Quest), but before completing Thinking Outside Every Box...
- Turenna: It's been a while since we last met, Proto-Boss, but I feel like your eyes have gotten even sharper. I'm sure you can... snipe a target from over 1,000 paces away!
Shouldn't a leader focus on... leading?
- Turenna: Well, yes! All the better to use the wargame to try out every tactic in your book, right?
- Turenna: But there are movie scenes where the hero sets their sights on the enemy leader, and with a "Boom, headshot!" drops both the boss and the enemy morale in one fell swoop... So cool!
How's your marksmanship, Turenna?
- Turenna: Reporting in, Proto-Boss! My half-body target record at a range of 200 paces is 9 out of 15 shots! Captain Chevreuse says I am... incredibly average!
- Turenna: I've also noticed that the Patrol has recently been employing high-caliber muskets to combat larger monsters. The bullets are heavy and have a longer effective range.
- Turenna: It's a crying shame that we can't wield elemental energy like Captain Chevreuse, and have custom-made muskets rain down hellfire on our foes...
- Turenna: In any case, when using the same amount of gunpowder for heavier bullets, they'll have a slower initial velocity and a more curved trajectory. At extreme distances, you may as well be tossing pebbles at your target.
Sacrificing range for power...
It'd be hard to hit targets that are far away...- Turenna: That's right. The human body can only handle so much recoil, so we can't just keep firing. Or the next "crack" we hear when we pull the trigger might be our own shoulder...
- Turenna: If we optimize the shape of the bullet and minimize its air resistance, we could narrow the barrel of the musket, increase the shot's initial velocity, improve overall accuracy, AND give it a greater effective range!
- Turenna: And, and, we could alter the materials used for the interior and exterior of every shell, switching up our rifling to maximize bullet spin, look into developing hollow point bullets to achieve maximum destructive power...
You lost me at "rifling."
Yeah! I understand exactly what you mean...!- Turenna: Ah! Look at me going off on one again... I'm no engineer of the Fontaine Research Institute, and I don't know how to work the exact numbers. I'll just write this down and bring it to our gunsmith...
- Turenna: Ahh... wouldn't it be nice to have the perfect musket — no recoil, perfect accuracy, easy-to-carry ammunition...
Wait here, I'll go give the wargame a shot.
- Turenna: Of course! I'll be watching your strategic genius at work, and taking notes!
Dialogue Set #2
Available after completing Thinking Outside Every Box...
- Enghiene: Turenna! Through this wargame... no, through all your years of training, you've truly come into your own as a member of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol.
- Enghiene: It's time for you to teach the new recruits.
- Turenna: M—Me...? Wow, um, I'll have to prepare myself mentally...
- Enghiene: Prepare yourself well! Someday, you'll be their drillmaster.
- Enghiene: Yes, you, Turenna! You're well-versed in both combat and training. You've arrested a two-digit number of criminals, taken down a four-digit number of monsters, and you have a grand total of seven service medals to your name...
- Enghiene: You don't have to show off, but be sure to keep your recruits in line, and keep them working hard!
- Turenna: Knocking criminals out and hunting monsters is nothing compared to dealing with my coworkers...
- Turenna: Um... In any case, I'll do my best!
Final Long-Range Sightlines
Dialogue Set #1
Available after completing Sightlines and Camera Tricks, but before completing Flower, Feathers, and Bullets.
- Turenna: Really not going to play another round, Instructor?
- Enghiene: I've already got my best score on the board. You saw — I'm getting a bit too old for this. Up against this fancy new wargame, the most I can do is scrape by with a passing grade...
- Turenna: But the passing grade is sixty percent of Captain Chevreuse's score! Outside of you, everybody else flunked, so where's the "too old" coming from...
(Keep listening...)
- Turenna: If you don't shoot now, I'll never see you holding a musket again.
- Turenna: I didn't even feel it coming on. How did the time go by so quickly...
- Turenna: *sob*... *sniff*...
- Enghiene: Eh? What're you crying for, kiddo?
- Enghiene: I'm just retiring. It's not like we'll never see each other again!
- Enghiene: You want to see me, easy enough — pick a place, treat me to dinner once a week.
- Turenna: Yes, yes, yes — not just buttered Tidalga, you can pick the Hotel Debord for all I care!
- Turenna: But... maybe not every week... how about once a month?
- Enghiene: Whatever. Whatever you arrange, I can take.
- Enghiene: But seriously, though... from now on, all the new recruits we've got are yours.
- Enghiene: Keep a good eye on Marine and Roxane — make sure they don't lose themselves in the work.
- Enghiene: And don't let the recruits come up short of where you were back in the day. The moment any of them slacks off, give 'em a swift kick in the rear!
- Turenna: I will! A swift kick in the rear!
- Enghiene: Good. My sisters are calling me down to Natlan for a vacation. I might be out of Fontaine for a couple of months...
- Enghiene: And when I'm back from vacation, I'll be coming to inspect your results!
- Turenna: I won't let you down, Instructor!
(Maybe leave them to chat alone...)
Dialogue Set #2
Available after completing Flower, Feathers, and Bullets.
- Turenna: Captain... Were you serious about what you just said?
(Keep listening for a bit...)
- (Turenna flinches)
- Turenna: I'll have to be carried through the air by a Qucusaurus, too?
- Chevreuse: That's right.
- Turenna: And I'll have to practice handling the musket up there, shooting at ground targets at high speed?
- Chevreuse: That's right.
- Turenna: Then... is there a raise involved?
- Chevreuse: There is.
- Turenna: I'm in!
- Turenna: Honestly, even without the raise, I'd be in. Money's never the issue — the dignity of a Special Patrol officer is.
- Turenna: If the Flower-Feather Clan's Saurian-riders can do it, I'm not about to admit defeat!
- Chevreuse: Honestly, I knew you'd accept even without the raise — but I don't want to short-change anyone on the team. So beyond the raise, there'll be a series of supplementary insurance arrangements and stipends as well.
- Chevreuse: To make sure you've got the stamina to handle harsher combat conditions, I'll be adding targeted physical conditioning training as well.
- Chevreuse: Let's start with a 100,000-pace weighted run.
- Turenna: I... I'll run. I'll run my best.
- Turenna: Dangling in midair really does take it out of you, doesn't it? So for this 100,000-pace run, I'll carry fifty units of weight?
- Chevreuse: ...I was going to say thirty-five units.
- Chevreuse: But since you're volunteering fifty, then Letellier can run the same standard. We'll see whether the others can take it after that.
(Maybe I shouldn't listen to any more of this...)
