The Sea of Quanta, also known as the Sea,^{[note 1]} is a very important place in the Honkai Impact 3rd series. It is the place where bubble universes reside and where several characters were sealed. The Sea of Quanta is where Quantum Shadows are born and produced.^{[citation needed]}

Description

The concept of the Sea of Quanta was found and named in the Previous Era.^[1]

From the moment the Imaginary Tree emerged from the Sea of Quanta, they were the only two living things in the universe, beginning a long rivalry. The Tree wishes to absorb the Sea, while the Sea wishes to drown the Tree.^[2] In order to facilitate this cycle, worlds "grow" as leaves of the Tree, and when they fail to persist, "fall" from the Tree and into the Sea.^[3] These worlds become fragmented versions of themselves, called bubble universes, with some having more stability than others.^{[citation needed]} The Sea of Quanta, as described by Lieserl Albert Einstein, is like a puddle of water spilled from multiple overflowed glasses. The analogy says the puddle's water is not from a specific glass, but it can be associated with any glass. She also likens the Sea of Quanta to the basis of the many-worlds interpretation in quantum mechanics.^[1]

There are no rules, boundaries, time,^[4] or limitations in the Sea of Quanta.^[5] Because of this, the Sea of Quanta also has no scenery such as stars or light on its own.^[4]

Bubble Universes

The Sea of Quanta is a place that doesn't follow contemporary rules.^[5] Bubble universes can be parallel universes which are a hypothetical self-contained plane of existence, co-existing with one's own;^[6] or man-made universes which are created by someone.^[7]

Some people's memories are enough to create entirely new bubble universes, as was the case with the one Kevin Kaslana created to "teach" Seele Vollerei in Chapter XII.^[8]

A bubble universe can maintain stability through an Ether Anchor.^{[citation needed]}

Sea of Data

The Sea of Data is a subordinate body from the Sea of Quanta,^[9] with its quantum space^[10] surrounding the planet of Mars.^[11]

Ether Anchors

Simply put, an Ether Anchor is what tethers and holds a bubble universe together. It holds the world in place, but cannot do much to combat the lifespan of a bubble universe.^{[citation needed]}

Related Entities

• Sa: Sa is an entity who lives in the abyss of the Sea of Quanta. Sa is an omniscient being that destroys and consumes bubble universes.^{[citation needed]}
• Herrschers from Sea of Quanta: This refers to Herrschers, specifically the Herrscher of Rebirth, who are born from the Sea of Quanta. This makes them independent from the Cocoon of Finality.^{[citation needed]}

• Millions of years ago, The civilization of planet Venus used the power from the Sea of Quanta to fight the Honkai. After the destruction of the planet, Vita ventured into the Sea of Quanta and evolved into Sa.^{[citation needed]}
