Mars, also known as Luoxing,[1] is the fourth planet from the sun of the Solar System[2] and the main setting of Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2.

Description

Mars is a red planet[2] where crimson sand filled the sky. There, two moons hung in the sky, Deimus[note 1] and Phobos,[3][citation needed][note 2] and one shone brighter than Venus. Finality had stalled here. The sparse Bubble Universes are the final echoes of civilization.[4] Before the Great Eruption, ancient Mars consisted of four main continents; Arcadia, Elysium, Phoenix and Lunae. On Mars, a year is 18 months, with a total of 668 or 669 days.[5] The Martian Language is the main system of writing used on Mars.

Mars exists in an unbalanced structure between the Imaginary Tree and Sea of Quanta, where the Sea of Quanta is superior to the Imaginary Tree. This structure creates a warped space around Mars known as the Sea of Data.[6]

History

Main article: Timeline

The history of Mars is documented using different calendars. The history that is recorded using the Earthian calendar uses the 365/366 days, 12 months in a year format, while history recorded using the Martian Old Calendar uses a strict 668 days, 18 months in a year format, and history recorded using Mars's current calendar (Era of Relocation) uses the 668/669 days, 18 months a year format.[5] Because of this, the calendar differences are specified for each entry via the Earthian years, Old Calendar, and Era of Relocation.

Prehistory

  • Unknown period
    • The Sea of Data is created from both the Sea of Quanta's and the Imaginary Tree's warped influence over Mars.[6]
  • 1 billion years ago
    • Mars faces the threat of Finality, on the edge of total destruction.[58]
    • Mars destruction.[58] The Cocoon of Finality attempts to foster a civilization on Mars, but fails as the cycles come to a standstill. The Cocoon leaves the planet dead, the only remains of its past glory residing in its remaining Bubble Universes.[4]
    • Divine power temporarily gives Mars some resistance against the Sea, allowing civilization to grow.[6]
