Cocoon of Finality is an imaginary entity that resides in an unknown imaginary space. It is described by Kevin Kaslana as an "extraterrestrial manipulator of fate". It manipulates Honkai^[8] energy in this world and creates Herrschers. Its purpose is to “embrace” civilizations, however, it must do so through bloody trial-and-error spanning millions of years when it resets its target's planet back to a past state whenever the civilization threatens to go extinct.

Appearance

The Cocoon of Finality appears as an insect cocoon sitting on the cracked fabric of reality. It emits an otherworldly stellar aura. When it spoke to Kiana Kaslana, it appeared as a mirror of her.

Story

All that is known about its origins is a theory made by Dr. MEI: It was once an alien civilization that managed to fuse with its planet and become a higher being, forming a singular omnipresent will within itself.

The Cocoon works akin to a valve that gathers and manipulates all Honkai energy of imaginary endings and uses it to project Herrscher cores with access to different authorities into different dimensions to "embrace" other civilizations thanks to its innate feeling of loneliness and longing for company, product of being the only intelligent being of its kind.

The reason it uses Herrschers to do its job is because the number of dimensions between the Cocoon and humanity is too big for it to understand them or act directly. It always ends with planet being destroyed as a result, with the Herrscher of Finality being created by Cocoon as a way to reset the world to an earlier state and try again with a different cycle.

This all changed after the Herrscher of Origin was born in the Previous Era and decided to sacrifice herself for the next Herrschers to have a choice to fight against Honkai.

Planet Purusha

Millions of years ago, the civilization of planet Venus faced Honkai and went against the Cocoon. To defend themselves, the Venusians triggered a Sea of Quanta tsunami, sweeping away the Cocoon, but nearly all life on the planet was destroyed, leaving Vita as the last survivor.

Planet Mars

The Cocoon of Finality attempted to foster a civilization on Mars, but failed as the cycles came to a standstill. The Cocoon left the planet dead, the only remains of its past glory residing in its remaining Bubble Worlds.

Previous Era

During the battle against the Final Herrscher on the Moon, PROMETHEUS hacked the Cocoon and created the Will of Honkai, forcing the Cocoon to repeat its last cycle and become predictable.

Chapter XXXV

During Project Stigma, the Cocoon found itself absorbed by the spiritual Adam, but was later found by the Anti-Entropy group, who decided to send Kiana, Raiden Mei and Bronya Zaychik to go meet it and receive the Authority of Finality to fight Kevin and end Project Stigma once and for all.

And so it happened. Cocoon found its one and only successful embrace: Kiana Kaslana, who will then absorb its full power, making the Cocoon something akin to her Herrscher core.

Personality

The Cocoon of Finality mirrors the personality of the current Herrscher of Finality, though while controlled by the Will of Honkai, it really just mirrored whoever talked to it.

Powers and Abilities

• It can project Herrschers and Honkai disasters into different planets and parallel universes.
• As the only true imaginary singularity/Herrscher core, every Herrscher's power is but a shadow of Cocoon's own power.
• Other than being the source of all Honkai phenomena in the world, the Cocoon seems to also have access to nigh-omnipotent powers.
