Dialogue Set #1
Available before completing Mistilteinn.
- Euphrosiniya: *sigh* I really need this budget proposal to pass...
You are...?
- Euphrosiniya: Ah, forgive me. I was thinking aloud. I am Euphrosiniya Ignatyevna Trubetskaya, Privy Councillor and a Veche Councillor of the Snezhnograd Veche. Please, call me Euphie.
- Euphrosiniya: Honestly, I would step down as councillor tomorrow if I could. After six months of watching those incompetent nobles do nothing but pass the blame around, you would understand why.
- Euphrosiniya: Unfortunately, as head of the Trubetskoy family, I cannot abandon my duties in good conscience — not while the people of Zolnyy cannot even get the ash they need to stay warm.
- Euphrosiniya: If I had any real choice in the matter, I suppose I'd become a traveling merchant, or something like that... *sigh* Anything would be better than spending every day at a desk, talking myself hoarse for nothing.
You seem displeased?
- Euphrosiniya: Indeed, I am. And if you intend to side with "The Rooster," allow me to explain. House Trubetskoy is well within its rights to say as much openly, even before Her Majesty herself.
- Euphrosiniya: Without question, we will forge Her Majesty's new world. But surely that does not mean the people of the old one should be left to starve and freeze in the dark.
- Euphrosiniya: As a Veche Councillor, I have put forward no fewer than five proposals to improve heating in Zolnyy. But the Speaker... hah. He never fails to find some absurd excuse to dismiss them.
- Euphrosiniya: If he spared even a fraction of the thought he wastes on power games for the orphans freezing in the streets, he might almost pass for human. Not that he ever was. He is a fae.
About your family...
- Euphrosiniya: My house takes its name from Grand Duke Brahe Prokhorovitch Trubetskoy, Governor of Nod-Krai five hundred years ago.
- Euphrosiniya: His title came to him through his adoptive father, a fae who gave his life in glorious service to His Majesty the Belyi Tsar. Even under the laws of that time, there was nothing improper about a human inheriting a fae's title.
- Euphrosiniya: When Solovei the Torchforger asked the Tsaritsa to grant the borderlands autonomy, Grand Duke Brahe also appeared before the throne. There, he willingly gave up any claim to the land and all it held.
- Euphrosiniya: He then entrusted the governor's palace to the Lightkeepers, who turned it into a military fortress. And that is how the Nod-Krai we know today came to be.
- Euphrosiniya: Tch... I would very much like to know which ungrateful bard in the borderlands first made up those rumors about my ancestor...
- Euphrosiniya: They claim — and please, you must not believe this — that he was made a fool of by Reed Miller's companion, and that he greedily sought some so-called "Great Treasure."
- Euphrosiniya: Those lying, good-for-nothing fools are no better than the nobles on the Veche. If I ever learn who started that tale...
I shall take my leave.
- Euphrosiniya: Until we meet again, outlander.

- Euphrosiniya: Unfortunately, as head of the Trubetskoy family, I cannot abandon my duties in good conscience and stand by while people go hungry... As you know, hunger can kill. It truly can.
- Euphrosiniya: If I had any real choice in the matter, I suppose I'd become a traveling merchant, or something like that... *sigh* Anything would be better than spending every day at a desk, talking myself hoarse for nothing.

- Euphrosiniya: Indeed, I am. And if you are not familiar with how our politics work, allow me to explain. House Trubetskoy is well within its rights to say as much openly, even before Her Majesty herself.
- Euphrosiniya: Even now, with Project Stuzha shelved indefinitely, they still quarrel over funds that are all but meaningless to them.
- Euphrosiniya: They think nothing of spending trillions of Mora on banquet halls. Yet ask them to spare a few thousand Mora per person so the poor of Zolnyy may buy food, and suddenly every coin is a matter of life and death.
- Euphrosiniya: If they refuse to pass it again, I will pay for it myself. Let them say I have some hidden agenda. Let them say I am trying to win people over. I no longer care.
