Warps are the gacha system in Honkai: Star Rail and the primary method to obtain Characters and Light Cones.
The Warp system is unlocked during the Trailblaze Mission A Moment of Peace.
Types

Availability
The Stellar Warp is always available and requires 
Star Rail Passes.
The Departure Warp is available indefinitely until all 50 Warps are made. It has a 20% discount using batch Warps, requiring only 40 Star Rail Passes to complete all 50 pulls. Within this limit, players are guaranteed to obtain one non-promotional 5✦ character.
Limited-time Event Warps are split into two types: Character Event Warps and Light Cone Event Warps. As the name suggests, they are only available for a limited time and require 
Star Rail Special Passes instead of Star Rail Passes.
Character Event Warps have one promotional 5✦ character and three featured 4✦ characters. Light Cone Event Warps have one promotional 5✦ Light Cone and three featured 4✦ Light Cones. Both the promotional 5✦ and featured 4✦ items have an increased drop rate compared to the basic rates when the guarantees are factored in.
Players can buy either of the Passes for 
Stellar Jade ×160 each from the Warp menu or through the Store. However, purchasing is optional, as Stellar Jade will be used in place of missing Passes when performing a Warp. Additionally, there are also in-game methods of obtaining Passes; see their respective pages for more information.

Rules
- 4✦ drop guarantee: If a player does not obtain any 4✦ (or above) item within 9 warps in a row, the 10th warp is guaranteed to be a 4✦ (or higher) item. (On guarantee, the probability of getting a 4✦ item is 99.4%, and the probability of getting a 5✦ item is 0.6%.)
- This counter will reset if the player obtains any 4✦ item.
- Featured 4✦ character guarantee: Every time a player obtains a 4✦ item, there is a 50% chance it will be one of the featured 4✦ characters.
- If the 4✦ item obtained is not one of the featured characters, then the next 4✦ item obtained is guaranteed to be one of the featured characters.
- Thus it requires a maximum of 20 warps to obtain one of the featured 4✦ characters.
- 5✦ drop guarantee: If a player does not obtain any 5✦ item after 89 warps, the 90th warp is guaranteed to be a 5✦ item.
- This counter will reset if the player obtains any 5✦ item.
- Character Event Warps do not contain 5✦ light cones in their item pool, as such each 5✦ drop will be a character.
- Promotional 5✦ character guarantee: Every time a player obtains a 5✦ item, there is a 50% chance it will be the promotional 5✦ character.
- If the 5✦ item obtained is not the promotional character, the next 5✦ item is guaranteed to be the promotional character.
- Thus it requires a maximum of 180 warps to guarantee obtaining the promotional 5✦ character.
- Counter and Guarantee carry-over: Each warp of the same type shares the above counters and guarantees, this means that your counters for the current Character Event Warp are carried over to the next Character Event Warp (but not the Stellar Warp).
- For example, if one warps 89 3/4✦ items on Character Event Warp A, then the first warp on the following promotional Character Event Warp B will be a guaranteed 5-star character.
- Likewise if one warped a non-promotional 5-star character on Character Event Warp A, then the next 5-star character on Character Event Warp B will be guaranteed to be the promotional character.

- Thus it requires a maximum of 20 warps to obtain one of the featured 4✦ light cones.
- 5✦ drop guarantee: If a player does not obtain any 5✦ item after 79 warps, the 80th warp is guaranteed to be a 5✦ item.
- This counter will reset if the player obtains any 5✦ item.
- Light Cone Event Warps do not contain 5✦ characters in their item pool, as such each 5✦ drop will be a light cone.
- Promotional 5✦ light cone guarantee: Every time a player obtains a 5✦ item, there is a 75% chance it will be the promotional 5✦ light cone.
- If the 5✦ item obtained is not the promotional light cone, the next 5✦ item is guaranteed to be the promotional light cone.
- Thus it requires a maximum of 160 warps to guarantee obtaining the promotional 5✦ light cone.
- Counter and Guarantee carry-over: Each warp of the same type shares the above counters and guarantees, this means that your counters for the current Light Cone Event Warp are carried over to the next Light Cone Event Warp (but not the Stellar Warp).
- For example, if one warps 79 3/4✦ items on Light Cone Event Warp A, then the first warp on the following promotional Light Cone Event Warp B will be a guaranteed 5-star light cone.
- Likewise if one warped a non-promotional 5-star light cone on Light Cone Event Warp A, then the next 5-star light cone on Light Cone Event Warp B will be guaranteed to be the promotional light cone.
Additional Items
When players receive characters and Light Cones from Warps, they also receive 
Undying Embers and/or 
Undying Starlight. These items can be traded in the Store to obtain other items.
When players receive a duplicate character, they also receive Eidolon items, used to activate Eidolons of characters.
When players receive a duplicate 5-star character with maxed Eidolons, they also receive a 
Silver Companion Spirit, used to exchange for 
Golden Companion Spirits in the Stellar Convergence shop.
