Divine Keys are Previous Era technology (usually a weapon) made with the core of Herrschers from the Previous Era, with all before the 6th created under the guidance of Vill-V.^[1]

The creation of Divine Keys was started by Dr. MEI and called Project Divine Key, which was aimed to convert the cores of defeated Herrschers into weapons.^[2] Only one Divine Key has been said to be finished in the Current Era.^[3] All Divine Keys with cores can draw their power from the core for only a short period of time before needing to recharge for two hours.^[4]

1st Divine Key - Key of Revelation

Also known as Void Archives.^[5]

• Requirement: Fundamental understanding of synthesis and creation.^{[citation needed]}
• Known Abilities:
  • Mimicry: Using the power of the first Herrscher, Void Archives can reform itself into another object, primarily into other Divine Keys.^{[citation needed]}
  • Archives: Void Archives has a library of all knowledge from the Previous Era.^{[citation needed]}

2nd Divine Key - Key of Infinity

Also known as the Cosmic Juggernaut,^[7] its primary function is observation of the Imaginary Tree and bubble universes.^{[citation needed]}

• User(s): Su, Otto Apocalypse.^{[citation needed]}
• Known Abilities:
  • ??? (0th): Opens a gate to the Imaginary Tree, but requires a key to activate, which Otto Apocalypse traded with Kevin Kaslana for.^[8]
  • Inverted Horizon (1st): The key can also be used to open a portal to the Sea of Quanta and sink a bubble universe.^[9]
  • Seed of Sumeru: The key can be used to create another bubble universe.^[10]

3rd Divine Key - Key of Sanction

Also known as the Seven Thunders of Retribution, the key has many forms, depending on its "mood" and user,^[11] and has taken a liking to Raiden Mei. Its primary function revolves around combat, and it does this by generating high voltage projectiles that reduce matter into atoms.^{[citation needed]} It was made using the Previous Era's Herrscher of Thunder.^[11]

• Known Form(s): Capable of turning into seven different forms, that being: a railgun, a blade, a lipstick, a slingshot, and three unknown forms.^[11]

4th Divine Key - Key of ???

The Key is a satellite^[12] with the ability to purify an area of Honkai Energy,^[13] made from the Previous Era Herrscher of Wind's core.^{[citation needed]} It was used to clean Earth's atmosphere, lands, and oceans to make the planet habitable again after the Herrscher of the End corrupted it.^[13]

After 50,000 years, the 4th Divine Key had exhausted its energy in order to repair the Earth and then floated in space until Schicksal captured it.^[13] Murata Ryusuke, who used to be a university researcher, received an invitation from Otto to be the director of St. 7308 Labs and repair the 4th Key^[14] as Schicksal planned to use this Divine Key to repair Siberia after the 2nd Honkai War destroyed the entire area.^[13]

5th Divine Key - Key of Stagnation

Vill-V created it from the core of the Previous Era's Herrscher of Ice, and was initially designed to be a weapon of mass destruction.^{[citation needed]} However, after the 12th Herrscher used the missiles she created to destroy the last three cities on the planet, she felt responsible for the destruction that her invention caused. She then decided to repurpose the 5th Divine Key into a "life-sustaining flame", which she then called The Suspended Key; The Great Hibernation.^[15] Speculated to play a part in the cryopods that enabled the remaining Flame-Chasers to survive the end of the Previous Era.

6th Divine Key - Key of Creation

Also known as Abyss Flower. Abyss Flower constitutes two parts, "Abyss" and "Flower", nodding to its primary functions of decomposing and restoration.^[16] It was made from the Previous Era Herrscher of Death's core.^[17]

• User(s): Elysia,^[18] Su,^[19] Eleanor Schariac (Black Abyss spear form), Reanna Brigantia,^{[citation needed]} Cecilia Schariac,^[20] Durandal.^[21]
• Requirement: High vitality, typically some form of Honkai resistance as the key can unleash harmful vapors for those with lesser resistance.^{[citation needed]}
• Known Abilities:
  • Virescent Growth: The key can be used to create a large plantlike structure, used to trap enemies or soften landings.^[20]
  • Heilige Lanze die Welwitschie (0th): Revives a person from the dead, or heals fatal injuries. Used by Reanna Brigantia to save Elaine Gaston in 1955.^{[citation needed]}
  • Forced Limit Break (Alternate 0th): Extends one's life and heals all injuries, used by Erwin Reanna Schrodinger to save Welt Joyce, Frederica Nikola Tesla, and Lieserl Albert Einstein in 1955.^{[citation needed]}
  • Banish Bloom (1st): Charges up an extremely powerful attack for about two minutes (at worst), and unleashes a sunstrike on an area with a radius of around 10 meters. Used by Reanna to annihilate a Templar-class Honkai Beast in 1955.^{[citation needed]}
  • Holy Lance Countercurrent (2nd): Reanna used this technique to first separate Abyss Flower into its two segments: Black Abyss and White Flower. Reanna then proceeded to thrust White Flower after their separation into the corrupted Schrödinger, who then had her Honkai infection completely sealed into her right arm, erasing any other traces of infection on her body.^{[citation needed]}

7th Divine Key - Key of Destruction

The Key of Destruction is regarded as one of the most destructive Divine Keys, having been made from the core of Himeko (Previous Era), the Previous Era's Herrscher of Flame. It was so powerful, it needed to be split into two.^[22] Its primary function is for combat, firing devastating bullets or delivering fire-imbued blows.^{[citation needed]}

The following weapon forms have historically been in the possession of House Kaslana.^[23] They are also made from the core of the Previous Era's Herrscher of Flame.^[24] In the separated form of the Key, it is known as the twin pistols, Judgement of Shamash. The two guns can be combined into the Zweihänder form, Cleaver of Shamash, with full abilities.^[25]

• Requirement: Honkai Energy reserves.^{[citation needed]}
• Known Form(s): Judgment of Shamash^[24] - Cleaver of Shamash^[25] - Might of An-Utu^[28] - Shuhadaku of Uriel.^{[citation needed]}
• Known Abilities:
  • Might of An-Utu (Form): When all limiters have been removed, only a Kaslana with their ICHOR expressed can survive delivering this devastating blow of destruction, capable of leveling a city single-handedly, about 300% of the previously recorded maximum output as recorded by Schicksal in 2000.^{[citation needed]}
  • Shamash Unleashed (0th): Must be activated in Zweihänder form or the higher levels. Utilizes all 100% of Shamash's energy to deliver a devastating slash, with the entire sword turning into flames. Except for Kevin and Siegfried, who awakened his dormant Parvati genes, all members of the Kaslana family who used this technique perished.^{[citation needed]}

8th Divine Key - Key of Sentience

Also known as Fenghuang Down, it was made with the core of the Previous Era Herrscher of Sentience.^[29] Its primary function allows the wielder to manipulate brain signals and actively control the target's mind. Victims will see an illusion created by the wielder and believe that it is real.^[30]

• Known Abilities:
  • Sunderer of Reality: The Edge of Taixuan, Eminence can be supercharged by Fenghuang Down if the user no longer has a functioning Blade Mantra, using memories as fuselage. This was used in conjunction with the 1st Power of Fenghuang Down, which serves to create an unstoppable mental attack, which the Will of Honkai tanked for Sirin, causing the link between them to shatter.^[32][33]
  • Dream World: Fenghuang Down can generate a dream world or mental realm at the user's will.^{[citation needed]}
  • Sentience Link (0th): Transfers and implants one's consciousness/soul/sentience into a feather of Fenghuang Down, which renders it 'broken', which means it can't use any ability until the user's consciousness leaves said feather back into their body or some other body. Which means as long as the feather containing the consciousness is not destroyed, Fenghuang Down can be restored. Fu Hua used this technique after the Herrscher of Sentience occupied her body.^{[citation needed]}
  • Complex Manifest (2nd): First used in the 12th Eruption of the Previous Era, this technique allows for the user enter the mental plane, whose range extends all over the MOTHs' base. This also allows the user to single out consciousnesses, which appear as sparks, and very strong ones will have distinct presences, such as the Flame-Chasers and Herrschers (Kevin: stubborn, unbending sword; Sakura on the verge of death: ephemeral wisp that fluttered painfully like a wilted leaf; and The Herrscher of Corruption: a cocoon of malevolence that extended its tendrils everywhere). Fu Hua said that this technique is done once her complete sentience focus is directed into a single point. The user can also summon copies of their will to serve as their guard in this plane.^[34]

9th Divine Key - Key of Devouring

Also known as Cosmic Harmony,^[35] its two subforms, Twins of Eden^[36] and Star of Eden have different usages across the timeline but both demonstrate gravity manipulation. It was from the core of Previous Era's Herrscher of Earth, and found by Schicksal in the Yellowstone Ruins of the Current Era.^[37]

• Known Abilities:
  • Quasi Black Hole (0th): The key can generate a quasi black hole, where targets close to it will face time dilation on the Event Horizon, with every minute equating 60-65 minutes.^[38][39][9]
  • Singularity Rebuild (3rd): The user summons the Star of Eden to use immense levels of gravity to condense a volume of space down to a naked singularity, and stretches it back to propel one into higher dimensions. Welt used this technique against Murata Ryusuke, who was attacking him from higher dimensional planes.^[40]

10th Divine Key - Keys of Domination

Also known as the Xuanyuan Swords,^[41] they were mass manufactured due to the numerous Herrscher "cores"^{[citation needed]} obtained from the Previous Era's Herrscher of Legion.^[42] Their forms change, depending on their user,^[41] and will bestow different powers.^{[citation needed]}

• User(s): Fu Hua^[43] (Xuanyuan Sword, Grips of Tai Xuan, and Water's Edge)^[44], Ji Xuanyuan (Xuanyuan Sword), Cheng Lixue (Water's Edge),^[45] Li Sushang (Xuanyuan Sword and Water's Edge).
• Known Form(s)/Abilities:
  • Grips of Tai Xuan: Capable of dispersing the physical manifestation of the Edge of Tai Xuan, Eminence.^[46][47]
  • Water's Edge: Allows the user to manipulate water to an extent. It was wielded by Cheng Lixue and Fu Hua during the Second Eruption.^[45]
  • Manipulation of Fumes of Death: Emile - Kalpas' friend, whose sword's abilities allow weak manipulation of the fumes of death.
  • Dark Xuanyuan Sword
  • Crimson Shadow: Used by Ma Feima (Yanqing), capable of turning one invisible or creating light illusion clones of oneself, suspected derivative of Wind's powers, similar to the Previous Era Herrscher L10-001.
  • Willowfoil: Used by Lin Zhaoyu, the sword is capable of bending into a whip and stretching.
  • Peerless: Used by Su Mei, a dual a pair of yin and yang swords fit for dual wielding.
  • Clearbreeze: Used by Jiang Wanxi, a blade that is capable of erasing sound around the user's area, which she used to take away Fu Hua's senses before they assassinated her.
  • Restlessfall: Used by Jiang Wanru, an unknown awakened blade, has some minor powers related to the Herrscher of Death.
  • Cheng Lingshuang's Xuanyuan Sword: It is unknown what its powers were, as she never awakened it and it was destroyed in the Mount Taixuan incident.
  • Scented Ink: Used by Qin Suyi, a blade that resembled a brush pen used back in ancient China, with the ability to manipulate ink and liquids. This sword was later passed down to her daughter, Li Sushang, which took the form of Water's Edge.

11th Divine Key - Key of Binding

Also known as the Oath of Judah, it has a subform known as the Pledge of Sakura. Its primary function is draining Honkai Energy and imprisonment, but it can also be used as a melee weapon.^{[note 2]} It was made from the Previous Era Herrscher of Binding's core.^[42]

• Known Form(s): Oath of Judah - Pledge of Sakura.^{[citation needed]}
• Known Abilities:
  • Search: Judah has a locating ability that is activated when it is given something that relates to its target and when its user touches it while thinking of the target. It will then shrink and search for its target in a 200km radius, with its sensory probes.^[48]
  • Elysion Pedion (0th): Judah's 0th power is creating a field that negates Honkai Energy and other energy phenomena. Because of this, it can even kill its user without proper training, especially if they have Honkai genes or energy in them.^[49]

12th Divine Key - Key of Corruption

Jizo Mitama, made by the Previous Era's Herrscher of Corruption.^[50] Though its creation began in the Previous Era,^[5] it was only completed in the Current Era.^[3]

Key of Blankness

Made by Dr. MEI, the Key of Blankness is a battlesuit capable of harnessing the powers of a Herrscher by bonding with cores.^[51][52] Wielded by Dr. MEI against the Previous Era's Herrscher of Legion^[53] and Murata Himeko with the Gem of Haste against the Herrscher of the Void.^[54] The Key of Blankness is said to put great strain on its user.^[55] Additionally, once found by Schicksal, it was used to create other next-gen Valkyrie battlesuits, including 4th generation Godsbane-class battlesuits.^[51]

• The ending of Second Eruption implies the humans souls of Herrschers are retained in their cores. Therefore, any time a Divine Key "reacts" to someone or shows personality, it is likely that the soul inhabiting the core is reacting to the person and their reactions are manifesting in the Divine Key.
