Kremnoan Detachment

Last updated 2026-02-18

The Kremnoan Detachment is a faction in Amphoreus, led by Mydei.

History

After returning from the Sea of Souls, Mydei was accompanied by five loyal companions: Hephaestion, Perdikkas, Leonnius, Ptolemy, and Peucesta. These five stood by him through exile, facing life and death together over a decade marked by hardship, camaraderie, and fleeting moments of joy. During their ten years of exile, Mydei and his companions often gathered by campfires, enjoying honey brews and songs. Hephaestion, though scrawny in appearance, was a formidable warrior who teased Mydei for adding goat milk to the honey brew, claiming it ruined the drink's blood-red hue. Perdikkas was a skilled healer, delving into unconventional remedies. Leonnius was swift and reliable, serving as the group's primary messenger. Ptolemy was a scholar, endlessly quoting from tomes, and even took a portion of Castrum Kremnos' grand library when they departed, though it mattered little, as Mydei's family owned it. Peucesta was the quiet one, yet a masterful musician whose melodies would later prove crucial in battle.

The companions tragically died before the Kremnoan detachment could join Okhema. Perdikkas was the first to fall, he was struck by a poisonous arrow from the people of Ladon. Despite his skill in remedies, he could not save himself. Leonnius died during the fifth winter amid Aidonia's three-month snowstorm. While covering the group's retreat from a bottomless swamp, his legs were severed, and his body vanished into foreign mire. Ptolemy fell with his cavalry before they could enjoy the victory in Aidonia. Collapsing obelisks became his tomb. Peucesta sacrificed himself by luring enemies into Aenionus with his music, buying crucial time. The city and Mydei's soldiers were however set ablaze by the soldiers of Aenionus. Hephaestion, Mydei's most trusted friend, fell ill just before Mydei's duel with his father. Concealing his condition, Hephaestion lived only long enough to see Mydei's victory but passed away soon after.[1]

The detachment successfully slew the King of Castrum Kremnos, Eurypon, allowing Mydei to become the new king. However, he initially refused the title, eventually ascending as the demigod of Strife. He then abolished the Kremnoan Dynasty to end Castrum Kremnos' thousand-year history of bloodshed and to give his people a fresh start in Okhema.[2]

The detachment is a military group formed by Kremnoan exiles who chose to follow Mydei and leave Castrum Kremnos. They are currently allied with Okhema, and support the Flame-Chase Journey led by Aglaea.[3] Only Kremnoans are allowed to join the detachment.[4]
