Lost Items From the Old Capital
Last updated 2026-06-29
Lost Items From the Old Capital refers to a set of unique items that can be acquired from various sources within the Withered Domain, often providing glimpses into the lives of the people who delved inside Hollow Zero both past and present.
The acquired items can be viewed from within Ray's Research Log.
Acquisition
Lost Items From the Old Capital can only be acquired in the Withered Domain and are not currently accessible within the Lost Void. The majority of the Lost Items are obtained from specific Hollow Events, notably the Weird Detective, Weird Scavenger, Weird Student, and Weird Crystals.
These events are not guaranteed to appear in any given stage and may also be hidden within specific Special Areas (ex: Area Codename: 0044). Depending on the item, the player may also be required to interact with one of these NPCs several times before the item is handed over for collection.
The items from the "Here It Once Swayed" set can only be obtained as a reward from reaching objectives in the Inferno Reap gameplay.
Sets
The Hollows Bank
A four-item set consist of two recordings, a money bag, and a cellphone, which tells the story of two men robbing a bank and the aftermath of it during the Hollow Zero Disaster.
The red-haired schoolgirl Carol who periodically appears in front of Box Galaxy gadget shop in the Sixth Street is a related NPC of this set.
The Sanctuary
A six-item set consisting of two recordings, two documents, a pillow, and a “Withering” corruption sample, which tells the story of a researcher of the White Star Institution from getting a new supervisor to discussing with the latter about retrieving samples and data, left inside Hollow Zero when they had to evacuate the observation post.
Blossoming out of Ruins
A four-item set consisting of two recordings, a headset, and a "Withering" corruption sample. It tells the story of a defense force squad that had an unfortunate run-in with what is implied to be Nineveh. The squad were branded deserters after their disappearance, and are thought to have fled rather than died. The proxy then assists two veterans in retrieving their fallen comrades' dog tags, repairing the squad's reputation.
Symbiosis
A three-item set consisting of one recording, a pen gift box, and a book called "Symbiosis". It talks of how Ethereals could be considered their own species and as such could have symbiotic relationships with animals and plants. The proxy helps a biologist in the Scott Outpost to collect data on the Ethereals.
Lucky Ticket
A three-item set consisting of two recordings and a tattered ID card. It tells the story of two Hollow Raiders ("Parker" and an unnamed man) that infiltrated the Hollow Investigative Association with the complicity of higher-ups, who did not care about the background or motives of Investigators, especially if their life was expendable, like criminals'. The Proxy helps the second Raider, now an old man, to find his wallet (with a photo of the two friends together) in the Ether-rich spot where Parker presumably got killed by etherals.
Measurement Device
A five-item set, consisting of two recordings, a broken Zenless Limit gauge, an unused bullet, and a "Withering" corruption sample. It tells the story of Wade Squad, sent into Hollow Zero as a desperate measure to prevent Ether activity to reach the Zenless limit and thus create other Companion Hollows, and specifically of the soldier Zero. The Proxy helps the now Commander Zero to place the medal he was given for his glorious career in the place as a commemorative offering inside Hollow Zero, where his mates from Wade Squad died during that operation. The presence of an unused bullet in the set suggests that the Thanatos we face during the commission is actually a corrupted Wade Squad soldier, who either did not manage to kill themselves before mutating or deliberately chose to become an Ethereal.
Night of the Hollow Passage
A four-item set, consisting of a recording, a photo, a button, and an official dossier from the HIA. It tells the story of two girls, who are later revealed to be Lily and Darla, who traversed Hollow Zero on a bike looking for a mysterious crystal door, which allows to travel back in time. They ended up facing Ethereals and were saved by an Investigator. The Proxy helps Lily gather dogs from Sixth Street to keep Howl company.
Hollow Proposal
A four-item set, consisting of two recordings, a pair of handcuffs, and a "Withering" corruption sample. It tells the story of a young couple, a woman and a Hollow Investigator, who could not afford engagement rings and thus tried to get a piece of an Ether crystal from Hollow Zero to make some money after hearing about it from a drunk rich Hollow Raider. His fiancée secretly followed him in the hollow and handcuffed them together, so that they either both went home or both proceeded deeper. The Proxy plays hide and seek with Kosugi, which is revealed to be the couple's daughter, while her father, Thierry, was sent in a last-minute investigation inside a Hollow, and her mother, Sharon, is working at the precinct.
Here It Once Swayed
A five-item set, consisting of a piece of fabric, a matchbox, a pottery fragment, a flower, and a damaged diary. It tells the story of a rich girl who ran away with only her diary and a potted flower she greatly cherished during the Hollow Zero disaster. There is no quest unlocked after collecting the whole set.
The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (A)
A five-item set, consisting of dampened Ether explosives, a photo, a White Star Institute document, a worn tablet, and a laboratory map. It is part of the The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault commission questline.
The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (B)
A six-item set, consisting of a metal wreckage, two recordings, a broken drone, a damaged safe, and a photo. It is part of the The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault commission questline.
List
There are 33 Lost Items From the Old Capital:
| Image | Name | Group | Description | Version |
|---|---|---|---|---|

|
Retro Flip Phone | The Hollows Bank | A retro flip phone with a long list of failed outgoing calls to a contact named "Sis." A pre-composed message remains unsent in the outbox: "If anyone reads this and also finds a bag full of cash nearby, can you please send some of the money to a girl named Carol in Ward A2-1402, Eridu Hospital? Just tell her this is the aid she requested before." |
1.0 |
| Crudely-Crafted Hollow Zero Investigator's ID | Lucky Ticket | An ID card for a Hollow Zero investigator that belongs to someone named "Parker." The card has been crudely made, with obvious ghosting on both the name and serial number. It also feels rough around the edges. The outer laminate has scratches and tears in it, and it looks as though it has been discarded long ago. |
1.0 | |
|
Zenless Limit Gauge | Measurement Device | A broken Zenless Limit Gauge with its meter stopping one tick before the red line. Fortunately, Ether activity did not reach the Zenless limit — otherwise New Eridu would have yet another Hollow. |
1.0 |
|
Bullet | Measurement Device | The casing of a bullet from a revolver; engravings on the base identify it as military issue. It seems like a discarded bullet with no trace of having been used. |
1.0 |
|
"Withering" Corruption Sample | [[]] | 1.0 | |
|
Polaroid Picture | Night of the Hollow Passage | A polaroid picture of a large dog that looks rather long in the tooth. A handwritten message on the back is blotched at the edges: "Will you still be my dog in my next life? I'll stay with you right until the very end." |
1.0 |
|
Button | Night of the Hollow Passage | Looks like just a normal button, in the style of those buttons on the overcoats popular among boys' uniforms throughout New Eridu high schools. The button has the initials "D.R." scrawled lightly into it in acrylic ink. |
1.0 |
|
Official Dossier from the Hollow Investigative Association | Night of the Hollow Passage | A damaged document, the only contents of which can be deciphered as: "Hollow Investigative Association Decision on Citizens Trespassing Through Hollow Zero" "Please take the two girls back to school, and re-educate them on Hollow safety procedures. Hollow Zero is the highest-risk area in New Eridu. Please do not enter of your own accord." |

|
Book Called "Symbiosis" | Symbiosis | A book titled "Symbiosis" that judging by its cover looks quite worn. The section on how changes in the ecosystem alter symbiotic relationships has sections circled with fading pen marks. | 1.0 |
| Gorgeous Fabric | Here It Once Swayed | A piece of torn cloth that looks like it was once part of an expensive dress. Although it is stained with mud, closer inspection reveals traces of fading from washing and wrinkles that not even cleaning could smooth out. Who would damage a good piece of clothing just to get a piece of cloth? | 1.1 | |
|
Matchbox | Here It Once Swayed | A fairly clean and light matchbox. Seemingly empty, it actually contains more than a dozen dried flower seeds. It's almost impossible for plants to bloom and grow in a Hollow, so it's unlikely these seeds could take root and grow now after being lovingly stored in this matchbox by someone... Or should we try anyway? | 1.1 |
|
Pottery Fragment | Here It Once Swayed | Based on the pattern on it, this piece of pottery belonged to a flowerpot that was once extremely popular in the old capital. The edge of the fragment seems to have been ground by something. The technique used was rough, but it managed to turn it into a sharp weapon... Upon closer inspection, it looks like it has been used for some time and has become somewhat blunt. | 1.1 |
|
Flower | Here It Once Swayed | This fresh and tender pink flower looks like a drop of dew slid across it just moments ago. At first glance, it looks like a flower sold by a florist. The only problem is this flower has never been documented in New Eridu or shows up in any records of the old civilization. Its petals begin to wither the moment it is brought out of the Hollow. | 1.1 |
|
Damaged Diary | Here It Once Swayed | "I ran away from that house. Everyone used to fight over everything in there, yet now they're scrambling to get away from it. How ridiculous." "Taking this pot of flowers with me has been more troublesome than I thought... but I can't bear to leave it behind. I still miss my mother." "Woohoo! I found a bucket. But it's only the fifth day, and it has bloomed four times already... Is this some kind of omen?" The last entry seems to be written with a finger in a faint color: "At least the flowers are still blooming. At least I'm free here. I'm happier than I've ever been." |
1.1 |
| Laboratory Map | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (A) | A building blueprint found in the Arpeggio Fault. Although damaged, it shows the text "Fourth Laboratory Level B1." In the corner of the paper, there's a circled wall, with hasty small writing nearby saying, "Due to key operation failure, changed to demolition plan." | 1.3 | |
|
Damaged Safe | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (B) | A locked box was found in the Ruined Buildings of the suspected underground storage of the Fourth Laboratory. The box has been opened, and only a few scattered documents and photos remain, making it impossible to determine the original contents. Inside the box, there's a note that reads, "May the Creator... lead... to fulfill the lifelong wish..." The paper's material is noticeably different from the other documents. Due to Corruption, some of the writing is difficult to decipher. | 1.3 |
|
White Star Institute Documents | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (A) | A document bearing the emblem of the White Star Institute. The remaining text is roughly as follows: "...It has been confirmed... the Fourth Laboratory is located... within the fault... Therefore, it is unanimously agreed that dispatching an advance team to recover the special Etheric Matter is urgent... As the vault is a key location for the institute, the key for entry must only be kept by the team leader and must not be lost..." |
1.3 |
|
Broken Drone | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (B) | A damaged drone that appears to be reconnaissance equipment from the insurgents based on its markings. The drone still contains some audio data. "...The Ethereal is abnormally large! Should we have the autonomous combat units avoid it?" "Evade immediately. Take the alternate route to the lab to ensure the demolition goes smoothly. We must get what we need this time." "Understood, executing immediately." "Retract the drone, and do not approach the creature too closely to avoid drawing its attention..." The audio abruptly cuts off. |
1.3 |
|
Deformed Metal Wreckage | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (B) | A sizable piece of mechanical debris with a distinctive camouflage paint job, resembling components from a rebel Armed Mech. The debris shows signs of deformation from a strong impact. | 1.3 |
|
Dampened Ether Explosives | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (A) | Recently transported Ether explosives by a cargo robot for clearing paths in the Hollow. Upon discovery, the explosives had fallen from the robot's cargo hold and, having become damp, can no longer be detonated. | 1.3 |
| Photo of the Turbulent Region | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (A) | A photo of the "Turbulent Corridor" area in the Arpeggio Fault was obtained from an institute investigator. The investigator specifically noted that the Ether concentration in the Turbulent Corridor area is abnormal, with an excessive number of fault fragments that are severely damaged, indicating that they are not naturally formed products of Hollow changes. | 1.3 | |
|
Worn Tablet | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (A) | A tablet terminal with a shattered screen. It is a standard smart device used by White Star Institute researchers and also has basic communication functions. Several messages can be found in the tablet's inbox, with the following content: "Alowyn, it's been half a month. Have you found the key to our storage room? If you can't find it yourself, ask your colleagues." "Alowyn, please find the key to the storage room as soon as possible. Mom needs it urgently." "Alowyn, if you can't find the key, Dad has called a locksmith. Take leave and go home on that day. Mom misses you." |
1.3 |
|
Bangboo's Data Memory Card | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (B) | A data storage card found in the broken Bangboo containing a few remaining audio files. "...Calling... Calling 4412! Report back immediately, report back immediately! If you don't, you will be considered a traitor!" "Captain, 4412's tracking signal has gone towards the Institute's group! And..." "That useless... that girl has always messed things up! She failed before, and now she dares to..." |
1.3 |
|
Photo of a Young Girl (Lost Item) | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (B) | A Polaroid photo found beneath the tombstone of Alowyn Mystik. The photo was stored in multiple layers of anti-corruption serum, preventing it from becoming corrupted over time. The woman in the photo is wearing a White Star Institute uniform, looking a little nervous as she faces the camera. Her appearance is unremarkable — likely the kind of face many people would quickly forget... But a certain Bangboo never will. |
1.3 |
|
Intact Data Memory Card | The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault (B) | A data storage card found in the area where rebel armed Mechs were eliminated. It was stored in multiple layers of anti-corruption serum, preventing it from becoming corrupt over time. It seems the owner tried hard to preserve it, but unfortunately, it was lost in the Hollow. It may contain critical information. |

Universal Audio Memory Card | [[]] | This universal model can read and transfer content from various devices, including but not limited to surveillance bugs, Bangboo, security rooms, mobile phones, VCRs, voice recorders, and internal storage for Hollow communication devices... | 1.0 |
