Gameplay Notes
- Durng steps 3-10, any instance of Hydro applied by Traveler will trigger Aino's Precision Hydronic Cooler to activate.
- During steps 3-7, it will always be raining, which provides consistent Hydro application.
- During steps 3-4, the active party will be limited to a trial Traveler (Hydro) and Flins.
- During step 5, the active party will be limited to a trial Lauma and Nefer.
- During step 6, the active party will be limited to a trial Albedo and Durin.
- During steps 7 and 9, the active party will be limited to a trial Traveler (Hydro), Lauma, Nefer, and Flins.
- During step 9, each time Dottore uses his Realm Attack, he displaces one of the characters in the party: first Flins, then Lauma, then finally Nefer. For a short duration, the player must fight Moon Replica Shades using only the displaced character. Afterward, the battle resumes against Dottore with that character removed from the party.
- The player does not actually have to fight the Moon Replica Shades, as battle will automatically resume after 20 seconds.
- Completing step 9 grants the Wonders of the World achievement When the New Moon Returns.
- During step 10, the active party will be limited to a trial Traveler (Hydro) and Columbina. After Columbina stuns The Doctor, the party will be restricted to a trial Traveler, with their Skill and Burst replaced with new talents granted by Columbina.
- During the final cutscene, quick time events will be displayed, prompting the player to press a button for Nefer's dive and kick, Flins's rain of spears, the Traveler's Geo stalagmite, and Columbina's kuuvahki beam, with Columbina's quick time event requiring mashing. However, the attacks will still play out and Dottore will still be vaporized regardless of if the player hits the quick time events or fails them.
- Upon completion of this quest, the Frost Moon is brought within the False Sky, replacing the false moon that was previously shown.

Dialogue
- (Approach Marionette)
- Marionette: Ah, you're here.
- Paimon: Sandrone! How are things going?
- Marionette: Glad you asked. You two are about to become the first people to lay eyes upon my masterpiece... Or should that be the first person and the first, uh... Specter?
- Paimon: Hey!
- Marionette: Eh, whatever. Come. Feast your eyes on this.
- Paimon: Wow, we've never seen something like this before!
It looks impressive!- Marionette: This meter displays the progress of my formula. Currently, it's still making the most important connections.
- Marionette: Once it's finished running, I'll deliver it right to your side, and then, we can finally bring Columbina back.
- Paimon: What do you mean, deliver it? Can't you just tell us over the Dodocommunication Device? It'll just be some numbers, right?
- Marionette: Ugh. You're such a greenhorn. This isn't the kind of formula you solve in math class. It's a highly complex algorithm capable of constructing a framework of rules.
- Marionette: ...Whatever. We'll be here all day if I start trying to explain it. All you need to know is, the formula must be completed before we can bring Columbina back.
Got it.- Marionette: I'll share the data with you. Nicole's agreed to let me use her information channel, so we just need to use the Dodocommunication Device like so, and...
- (A stylized meter appears in the upper corner of the screen, currently showing 10% progress)
- Marionette: There. Now you can check in on my progress.
- Paimon: Wow, look at that! You're amazing, Sandrone!
- Marionette: Pfft, about time you recognized my genius! Took you long enough! Hahaha.
- Marionette: Anyway, that's all from me. You should check on the others if you have time — make sure we don't have any weak links in the chain.
- Marionette: That might sound harsh to you, but close supervision is a common practice in the Fatui. Not looking to catch anyone out — I just care about everything going smoothly, that's all.
- Marionette: I'm kinda stuck here while the formula's running, so I need you to be my second pair of eyes in the meantime.
- (Sandrone's progress meter increases to 20%)
- (Approach Albedo and Durin)
- Durin: Thankfully, Miss Nicole has come to our aid. Nasha Town is now looking very well defended!
- Albedo: Golden flame... Yes, that's Nicole's power, alright.
- Albedo: Based on the latest message from Grand Master Varka, it sounds like they've reached an agreement.
- Albedo: The situation should be more stable with her assistance. Everyone will have at least some degree of protection.
- Paimon: Albedo, Durin!
- Durin: Hello there, you two!
- Albedo: Are you well-rested?
Thanks for your concern. I'm doing alright.- Durin: That's good to hear.
- Durin: As per the plan, Albedo and I will be in charge of Nasha Town.
- Durin: As Dottore's energy field expands, it's creeping ever closer in that direction... but we will do our best to hold our position.
- Albedo: We've fought side-by-side many times before, and always with great success.
- Albedo: I believe this time will be no different. So don't worry about us — focus on fighting Dottore.
- (Talk to Albedo or Durin, optional)
- Durin: As Dottore's energy field expands, it's creeping ever closer in that direction... but we will do our best to hold our position.

- (Approach Lauma and Nefer)
- Nefer: Yes, Miss Moonchanter? What are you staring at?
- Lauma: You always address me in the strangest ways. "Lady Moonchanter" one minute, "Miss Moonchanter" the next...
- Nefer: Yes, and? Are either of those incorrect?
- Lauma: Not as such. It's just that I simply call you "Nefer" nowadays.
- Nefer: Uh-huh, that's my name. What's your point?
- Lauma: The point is, I don't add any honorifics or titles.
- Nefer: Meaning what?
- Lauma: That... maybe we're on friendlier terms now than we used to be.
- Nefer: Is that how you see it? And I thought I was the one with eye damage.
- Paimon: Nefer! Lauma!
- Lauma: Paimon. (Traveler).
- Paimon: Just swinging by to check in on you! How are things going? Did you manage to get some rest?
- Nefer: Don't worry about me. I won't slow us down.
- Lauma: And I give my all to ensure our victory.
- Lauma: Ah, yes. Allow me to give you two a quick checkup...
- (Lauma's power briefly surrounds the Traveler and Paimon)
- Lauma: ...All done. You're both in good shape.
We're lucky to have your support.
Thank you both.- Nefer: You're welcome. You'll have your work cut out for you in this battle against Dottore, so make sure to get some rest in first.
- Paimon: Paimon will keep an eye on (him/
her), don't you worry! - Lauma: I'm glad to hear it. Take good care of yourself too, Paimon.
- Paimon: Sure thing!
- (Talk to Lauma or Nefer, optional)
- Nefer: Don't worry about me. I won't slow us down.
- Lauma: And I give my all to ensure our victory.
- (Talk to Flins)
- Flins: (Traveler), Paimon. A pleasure to see you both.
- Paimon: Flins! How's everything coming along?
- Flins: Fairly well, if I do say so myself. Personally, I am ready to confront Dottore head-on.
- Paimon: Ooh, you sound much more serious than usual.
- Flins: To be honest, I am not usually fond of exercising my full strength. For one thing, it's hardly conducive to maintaining a low profile. Besides, I believe one should have the right to choose when to show their hand.
- Flins: I am conserving my strength until the moment of battle is upon us. Anything to boost our chances of victory.
- Paimon: Seeing you get in the zone like this really puts Paimon at ease. Huh, (Traveler)?
Yeah, me too.
Most at ease indeed.- Flins: I consider it an honor to have your trust.
- Flins: Rest well. I look forward to seeing you both in your element during the battle.
- (Talk to Flins again, optional)
- Flins: Rest well. I look forward to seeing you both in your element during the battle.
- (After talking to everyone)
- (Traveler): (...!)
- (Traveler): (Hostiles incoming... Are these The Doctor's minions?)
- Nefer: Here they come. That's quite a horde.
- Lauma: As we expected.
- (Traveler): Get ready, everyone!
- (Sandrone's progress meter increases to 30%)
- Flins: Take your positions and prepare to engage!
- Albedo: Let's begin.
- Durin: I'm at the ready!
- (The group splits into pairs and run to take their positions)
- (While fighting the enemies with Lauma and Nefer)
-
- (Sandrone's progress meter increases to 40%)
- Lauma: These creatures cannot stand against us.
- Nefer: Ooh, fighting talk. Just don't let your guard down.
- Lauma: That goes without saying. I'm hardly the risk-taker in this group.
- Nefer: ...Excuse me?
- (While fighting the enemies with Albedo and Durin)
-
- (Sandrone's progress meter increases to 50%)
- Durin: That was easier than I thought.
- Albedo: Naturally.
- Durin: What do you mean? Umm...
- Durin: Is it because... as created beings go, we're of a higher level than them?
- Albedo: Very good. You understood what I was implying.
- (While fighting the enemies with the Traveler, Lauma, Nefer, and Flins)
-
- (Sandrone's progress meter increases to 60%)
- Flins: People have always used fire to drive away wild beasts.
- (Traveler): Wouldn't a lantern work just as well?
- Flins: You read my mind, my dear friend. I was just about to say that.
- (Traveler): Alright then, dear friend. Bring the light!
- (After defeating the enemies)
-
- (The Traveler and their allies stand back-to-back in Nasha Town's central plaza, fallen enemies scattered around them)
- The Doctor: You're looking well. I trust you've had a good couple of days?
- (Traveler): Dottore!
- The Doctor: It's actually a good thing, in my view. If the subjects of my experiment were to die prematurely, it would throw quite a wrench in the works.
- The Doctor: And so, I must thank you all for your resilience.
- The Doctor: We are no longer on the same level, but you are nonetheless worthy of my respect. A creator-god should be merciful and gracious, after all.
- The Doctor: And in any case, it is only right that, before I end your lives, the world is informed of the arrival of their new god.

- Cutscene's Travel Log summary:
- (With a snap of his fingers, Dottore transforms into a larger form)
- Heretic of the False Moon
- Il Dottore
- (Dottore traces his finger through the air, drawing a line across the false sky)
- (As the Traveler and their allies watch in horror, a massive rift splits the false sky, revealing the Frost Moon beyond)
- (Chuckling, Dottore transports them into an arena in the sky that appears to be held up by a massive hand)
- (As the group gets their bearings and prepares to face Dottore, he rises into the air and makes a declaration)
- Il Dottore: The experiment
- Il Dottore: Begins
- (The cinematic ends)
- (Condition missing)
-
- Take cover behind the Ancient Moon's Remnants to escape the moonfall impact
- (Condition missing)
-
- Stay right where you are, or you'll be punished for crossing the line
- (If a character's HP is reduced to 1)
-
- (The character's HP is recovered)
- You can't fall here! A stubborn will compels you to regain your feet...
- (Condition missing)
-
- Affected by The Doctor's power, your sense of direction is now inverted.
- (When Dottore displaces Flins during the fight)
- Flins: Oh... I've been moved inside another space, and it's sealed off.
- Flins: Looking at the structure of it... It seems like Dottore intends to trap us here.
- Flins: There's no exit. Our endurance is about to be put to the test.
- (When Dottore displaces Lauma during the fight)
- Lauma: Looks like Dottore has opted for a divide and conquer strategy...
- Lauma: But we will not allow him to triumph.
- Lauma: Now, I shall pray for our victory.
- (When Dottore displaces Nefer during the fight)
- Nefer: What's this supposed to be? A knockoff version of the space Columbina got trapped in?
- Nefer: Huh... There really is no way out...
- Nefer: We'll see about that, Dottore.
- (Upon returning to the fight against Dottore when all party members other than the Traveler are displaced)
-
- (Sandrone's progress meter increases to 70%)
- Il Dottore: My apologies. I had not intended to take your teammates from you.
- Il Dottore: But you have a choice in the matter. Obey, and I can release them.
- Il Dottore: An excellent deal, if you ask me. Won't you consider it?
- (Condition missing)
- Il Dottore: I'm aware you've been working on some little tricks to surprise me with, but it appears that none of them have come to fruition.
- Il Dottore: My guess would be that you're trying to bring Columbina back. But then, where is Sandrone? Or are you trying to buy time for her?
- Il Dottore: Heh... I always found their friendship to be a curious phenomenon. Two highly incongruent personalities, and yet they share a deep connection.
- Il Dottore: Speaking of Columbina, I once saw her as like a younger sister. We got along quite amicably while she was with the Fatui.
- Il Dottore: But then one day, she suddenly decided she would refuse to take part in any further experiments. To this day, I truly don't understand what I could have done to upset her so much.
- Il Dottore: It's such a pity. I could have had a sister, a family... But alas, she grew to dislike me...
- (Traveler): You're not fit to be family to her.
- Il Dottore: That, I can't deny.
- Il Dottore: So many people, all obsessed with playing out the same tired old dramas. This world is rotten to the core.
- Il Dottore: And then there's you... You had every opportunity to reach the right conclusion. The thought of killing you off like this... Hehe.
- Il Dottore: But I maintain that I approached you in good faith. So I will offer you another chance. Will you work with me? You have until I count to ten to make your choice.
- Il Dottore: One. Two. Three...
- (As he counts, Dottore rises into the air)
- (Traveler): (Not in a million years!)
- Il Dottore: ...
- Il Dottore: Sandrone? What a pleasant surprise. I didn't think you'd join us all the way up here.
- Marionette: You're as sick and twisted as ever. Don't fool yourself into thinking anyone's grateful for the chances you're offering them.
- (Traveler): (Sandrone? But the formula hasn't finished running yet...)
- Il Dottore: Funnily enough, I was just discussing a collaboration opportunity with (Traveler). And then I see you... who, I must say, is a good example of an opportunity gone to waste.
- Marionette: Gone to waste?
- Il Dottore: I said that everyone would get one chance. And you've used yours to march right back into the lion's den... So yes, it's an utterly wasted opportunity.
- Marionette: Hah! And what makes you think I believe a word that comes out of your mouth?
- Il Dottore: I was planning on disposing of your little formula after wrapping up more urgent business here. But since you've taken the trouble of serving it to me on a silver platter, I can simply bring it forward in the schedule.
- (A cinematic plays)
-
- Cutscene's Travel Log summary:
- (Pulonia tries to fight Dottore, who easily dodges all of its attacks before striking it down with a hail of Ancient Moon's Remnants)
- Il Dottore: Is this your life's work?
- Il Dottore: This piece of trash?
- (As the world-formula reaches 80% completion, an incensed Sandrone charges Dottore alongside the Traveler, only for both to be quickly incapacitated)
- (The world-formula continues to approach 90% as Dottore walks towards his two opponents, preparing to kill them)
- Il Dottore: Your formula runs too slowly
- Il Dottore: Sandrone
- Il Dottore: You put your hope for success on others
- Il Dottore: Instead of fighting dirty
- Il Dottore: That is why you have failed
- (Dottore rises into the air and prepares his daggers)
- Il Dottore: Now, whom should I slay first?
- Il Dottore: Any volunteers?
- Il Dottore: No one?
- (Dottore turns in the Traveler's direction, Sandrone's attention following his line of sight directly to them.))
- Il Dottore: How nice of you to leave the decision to me
- (Dottore uses a swarm of daggers to disarm the Traveler, before launching a final one to kill them)
- (However, the killing blow doesn't land, with Sandrone being revealed to have taken it in their place, piercing her through the abdomen.)
- Il Dottore: Oh?
- Il Dottore: How unexpected
- (Dottore pulls the weapon and Sandrone impaled on it to him, grabbing her by the neck in a chokehold)
- Il Dottore: Sandrone
- Il Dottore: Any last words for me
- Il Dottore: Comrade?
- (A flashback to Sandrone's time with her creator begins)
- Alain Guillotin: Is there anything you wish for?
- Sandrone: Not really
- (The flashback ends, and Sandrone affirms her resolve to herself as she grasps onto his wrist.)
- Sandrone: But I've always known... what I don't want!
- (Sandrone gives Dottore a defiant grin.)
- Sandrone: Heh
- Sandrone: Go to hell
- Sandrone: Dottore
- (A large surge of energy pierces Sandrone's chest, causing her to cough up blood, and it drips from her mouth. A scorch mark is left on her skin as her body goes limp.)
- (Traveler): No!
- (Dottore tosses Sandrone's body behind him, with the tablet displaying her world-formula's progress having stopped at 90%)
- Il Dottore: And now...
- Il Dottore: You have failed
- (The cinematic ends)
- (Traveler): Sandrone...!
- (The progress meter UI shatters and stays at 90%)
- Il Dottore: Now you see how fragile mechanical contraptions are. Just a gentle tap... and they fall to pieces.
- Il Dottore: However keen of an inventor Sandrone may have been, her death spells the end of the formula that was running inside her body.
- Il Dottore: Of course, I have to commend her for making it this far. As her colleague, I have to admire her stubborn tenacity.
- Il Dottore: Now, it is time for you to take your place by my side.
- (Traveler): ...
- (The Traveler makes a sound of protest, but their injuries keep them on the ground)
- Il Dottore: My count was interrupted, but the second chance I extended to you still stands. Once again — you are welcome to join me.
- Il Dottore: By now, I'm sure you have gained a greater appreciation for the power and authority I wield. What is stopping you from embracing a new world of endless possibilities?
- (Traveler): ...
- Il Dottore: Not in the mood to talk? As you wish. You seem less talkative than usual today.
- Il Dottore: I'll change the topic to something more... apropos. Sandrone was always like this. Never trusting anyone, always so reluctant to share her research with them.
- Il Dottore: Objectively speaking, she had her strengths. It is remarkable how she extracted and even optimized the world-formula from so much data.
- Il Dottore: But her inability to trust was her undoing. Had she allowed someone else to monitor or run the formula for her, you might still have a chance at victory even now.
- Il Dottore: But regrettably, she was a stubborn fool. As much as it pains me, she had to go.
- (Traveler): ...Dottore.
- (The Traveler rises to their feet)
- (Traveler): Maybe this is news to you, but people can change. Columbina surprised you when she escaped... And I think Sandrone would surprise you, too.
- Il Dottore: Change?
- (Traveler): You can twist the truth however you want, but I see it, clear as day: You're the one who can't trust other people.
- Il Dottore: Is that how you see me?
- (Traveler): ...
- Il Dottore: By this point, what can you hope to do about it?
- (A cinematic plays)
-
- Cutscene's Travel Log summary:
- Il Dottore: It is pointless to fight on
- Il Dottore: You've already lost
- (Traveler): Wrong. You can't win this
- (Traveler): Dottore
- (To Dottore's confusion, the world-formula's progress continues to increase, despite Sandrone supposedly being dead)
- (He looks up to see the Frost Moon moving in the sky)
- Il Dottore: What?
- (The Frost Moon is shown being pulled into Teyvat by Varka, Arlecchino, and Nicole)
- (A flashback to the group's planning begins)
- Sandrone: My formula can get us 90% of the way
- Sandrone: It will connect you to Columbina
- Sandrone: Then
- Sandrone: I will bring the formula's output to the Traveler's side
- Sandrone: For the last 10%...
- Sandrone: Do whatever it takes, just bring the moon down
- (The flashback ends, as the moon continues to descend into Teyvat)
- (In response, Dottore creates a shield to block the moon, and closes the hole in the false sky)
- (After a brief moment, however, the false sky shatters as the Frost Moon completes its descent)
- (Traveler): The moon... will never be yours
- Columbina: I turn my body into moonlight, and pour it over Nod-Krai
- Columbina: My soul, I leave here... To inform my future friends
- Columbina: Lastly... I will hide the Trilune authority within the Frost Moon
- Columbina: And when my body, soul, and authority are reunited...
- Columbina: Finally...
- (Traveler): Columbina!
- (The Moon-Prayer Blossoms on Hiisi Island are shown turning red)
- (Columbina returns to life in front of the Frost Moon, adored with her halo and angelic wings)
- (Her blindfold vanishes as she opens her eyes for the first time)
- (Columbina descends onto the arena and lands by the Traveler's side)
- Columbina: It's been too long. I'm back
- (The cinematic ends)
- Columbina: Stay focused on the battle, (Traveler).
- Il Dottore: What a touching reunion. Though, I personally find myself repulsed by the sight of weaklings huddled together for warmth.
- Il Dottore: Now, if you're quite finished patting yourselves on the back...
- Il Dottore: Show me how long you can struggle... before you drown.
- (Traveler): Watch out, Columbina! He can manipulate space itself.
- Columbina: I know. Wait for the right moment. We'll strike together.
- (After a certain amount of time)[verification needed]
-
- The Doctor is about to unleash his power again. Wait for Columbina to create an opening
- (A cutscene begins)
-
- (As Dottore traps the Traveler, Columbina steps forward and transforms the arena into a Lunar Domain)
- (Columbina fires beams of moonlight at the Dottore, who attempts to block them with three layers of barriers)
- (However, his barriers shatter one by one, leaving him kneeling on the ground)
- (The Traveler lands and prepares to finish him off)
- (The cutscene ends)
- Columbina: I grant you the new moon's blessing.
- Columbina: The new moon shines upon you.
- Il Dottore: I am growing weary of your stubborn resistance...
- (If the Traveler's HP is reduced to 1)
-
- (The Traveler's HP is recovered)
- Defeat your foe! The blessing of the New Moon grants you the strength to keep fighting...
- (While unleashing Traveler's special Elemental Skill — for the first, second, and third time, respectively)
- Columbina: No longer must the world cower in the cold night.
- Columbina: Let the moonlight dispel the darkness.
- Columbina: Everlasting as the moon.
- (While unleashing Traveler's special Elemental Burst — for the first, second, and third time, respectively)
- (Traveler): It's over, Dottore!
- (Traveler): Time to pay for your heinous crimes.
- (Traveler): Our future is not yours to command!
- (A cinematic plays)
-
- Cutscene's Travel Log summary:
- (The Traveler infuses their sword with Pyro, then leaps at Dottore and crosses blades with him)
- Il Dottore: Willfully blind...
- (Dottore dodges backwards before attempting to use Moonfall Impact)
- Il Dottore: How can you be so satisfied with your fate?
- (The Traveler and Columbina charge Dottore together, forcing him to pull back and raise a shield with the power of the Iridescent Moon)
- (The Traveler cleaves the shield with a single blow, which causes the the Iridescent Moon's marrow to fall out of Dottore's hold)
- (Columbina seizes the Moon Marrow before Dottore can react, and uses it to free Lauma, Flins, and Nefer from their imprisonment)
- Columbina: This battle was never about fate
- Columbina: It's about friends... family...
- Columbina: And the home you stole from them
- (Recovering from the blow, Dottore rises into the air again)
- Il Dottore: So dull. Only the weak rely on each other for comfort
- Il Dottore: You shall see. Once I transcend fate, you will be nothing but fodder for my grand experiment!
- (Dottore unleashes Ancient Moon's Remnants upon the group)
- Columbina: That will never happen
- (As the remnants fall, the group rushes towards Dottore)
- (Nefer strikes first, weaving through the remnants and using her shades to launch herself at Dottore)
- (She knocks him to the ground before sending him flying backwards with a kick)
- (Flins and Lauma charge at Dottore, who summons Moon Replica Shades to combat them)
- (Flins slices his way through the shades, before leaping into the air and summoning a rain of spears, decimating all the shades and hitting Dottore again)
- (The Traveler duels Dottore as Lauma leaps into the air in centaur form and releases a large wave of energy)
- (The Traveler uses Geo to summon a massive stalagmite that punches Dottore upwards hard in the chest, knocking the Eternal Moon's marrow out of his grasp in the process)
- (Columbina rises up in front of the moon and unfurls her wings, with three moons behind her converging into a Trilunar Syzygy)
- Columbina: Today, the moon lights up this world once more
- (Columbina casts down a massive beam of kuuvahki onto Dottore, who tries to resist it with his artificial Moon Marrow)
- (Unable to overcome Columbina's Trilunar Authority, the artificial Moon Marrow quickly cracks and shatters, and Dottore is ultimately atomized by the blast)
- Il Dottore: This... loathsome world...
- (The Lunar Domain fades as Columbina lands back in the arena and her friends gather around her)
- Columbina: No... This world is our home
- (Seeing Sandrone's body at the edge of the arena, Columbina rushes towards her and cradles her sadly)
- (The cinematic ends)
- (Quest ends)
