Chapter IV

Chapter IV, titled Betrayal Has a Silvery Smile, is a Story pertaining to the mainline narrative, specifically Part 1.
Short Summary
Kiana, Theresa, and Himeko arrive at the perimeter of the ME Corp HQ building on a stealth mission to rescue Mei, Bronya, and Wendy who are said to be held inside according to their intel. They find out the building is heavily fortified and crawling with guards inside and out. This mission is not so simple to execute as they thought.

Some time later, Kiana, Theresa and Himeko arrive near the ME Corp HQ building on a stealth mission to rescue Bronya, Mei, and Wendy who had been captured by Anti-Entropy in Chapter III.
During the journey, Theresa asks Kiana whether or not she knows that Bronya had been controlled from the start. Kiana admits to the truth about Bronya and blames Anti-Entropy. Theresa reminds her that Schicksal too is partially to blame because they create Valkyries to fight Honkai and suffer corruption in the process (possibly referring to Bronya's amputation due to corruption).
After a few battles, Kiana asks why Mei is being imprisoned in the ME Corp HQ building where Raiden Ryoma was the CEO of ME Corp, who is her dad. Himeko tells her the truth that Raiden Ryoma was arrested for economic crimes, but was actually framed by Anti-Entropy so that the extremist Cocolia could wrestle the power of ME Corp just to oppose Schicksal.

Suffer no more than 1 death(s).Kiana's team is trying to find any opening while fending off many guards at the same time. Before they are thinking of retreat, Bronya suddenly chips in to help. Naturally, Theresa and Himeko have doubts but they have no other choice if they need to find an entrance. While on the way, Kiana learns a bit of history about Theresa while Kiana's way of fighting reminds Theresa about her Kaslana bloodline. After a while, Kiana is wondering why Schicksal can't produce mechs like Anti-Entropy. Theresa mentions that Schicksal attempted to do so with Honkai energy but failed and other research proved that a Valkyrie's body is the best vessel and converter for Honkai energy. Unfortunately, the side effect is being continously corrupted by Honkai energy as well as reducing lifespan. Theresa laments that the founders of Anti-Entropy are more human than the Schicksal leadership by refusing to use humans as Honkai carriers.

Suffer no more than 1 deaths.As Bronya continues to help Kiana's team in unlocking the doors, the lab's gate suddenly closes as soon as they enter. Cocolia was aware of their location all along and baited them to the lab. They have no choice but to fight their way through the guards.

They then discovered Bronya guarding the unconscious Mei. Kiana was expecting a fight from Bronya but she didn't lift a finger, instead reminiscing about her meeting with Mei who has changed her life besides her Matushka, Cocolia. And so, Bronya chose to sacrifice herself by burning her own biochip so Cocolia will not be able to control her. In the process, she ends up in a comatose state.

Suffer no more than 1 death(s).Mei is shocked to find that Bronya is in a coma. Himeko and Theresa suggest falling back to bring Bronya back for treatment as soon as possible. However, Cocolia's mentioning of Wendy forces them back to their original mission.
Suddenly, Wendy talks to them and tells them that they know about the whole truth about Bronya was being controlled. Wendy also tells them that it was Theresa who actually recommended Wendy for the Gem of Desire experiment and finally, a way to save Bronya using the Gem of Desire's energy.

Kiana and her team arrive at an unknown place to find an inactive large mecha. Cocolia chips in to inform that she plays Wendy's last recording and she takes the Gem of Desire out, killing Wendy in the process. According to Cocolia, Wendy wished to exact revenge on Schicksal for recommending her to the experiment, which explains her sudden violent outburst during Chapter III/3-3. The inactive mecha named MSR-I Wotan is now powered by the Gem of Desire and the team now has to destroy it.
