Unshielded team members gain Barrier of Phoenix's Flames. Its value starts at 2,000 and caps at 4,000. While active, it reduces DMG taken by 50%. When its value drops to 0, it's temporarily disabled, but regenerates by 500 when the character uses Combo ATK, Ultimate, or Parry ATK.

The Light From Fiery Plumes Remains

Quickly evade incoming attacks up to 2 times, or assume Parry Stance to block or strike preemptively.

Tap [EVA] while touching the joystick: Evade. Ultimate Evasion will trigger Time Fracture for 3s. CD: 12s.
Tap [EVA] without touching the joystick: Enters Parry Stance to block enemy attacks.
During Parry Stance, upon successfully blocking an attack or tapping [ATK], instantly trigger Ultimate Evasion Skill, and Parry ATK based on the current stance (can also be triggered by tapping [ATK] after triggering Evasion Skill with Ultimate Evasion) to deal massive damage. She uses herself as a furnace for phoenix fire, and burns away her life to deliver an unparalleled blow that deals 2,500% ATK of Fire DMG. While performing Ultimate, she is invincible and Time-frozen Domain is in effect.
After using Ultimate, she will enter a new life and recover 25% of max HP through phoenix fire.
SP Cost: 100. CD: 17s.

① Wander the World Without Return

When Fenghuang of Vicissitude casts Ultimate, every 7% HP lost increases Ultimate's Fire DMG by 12%, up to 60%.

A powerful attack enhanced by fire and vitality.

Each stance has its own Qi that starts at 300 points and caps at 300 points. Qi is restored in the following ways:
After entering, the current stance regens 8 points per 1s and the other stance regens 12 points per 1s.
After exiting, regens 28 points per 1s.
Together the Sun and Moon Shine restores 20 points on hit.
Punch Stance and Kick Stance's Basic ATK restores Qi of the respective stance.
Punch Stance Basic ATK:

Using Enhanced Joint ATK increases Total DMG by 20% x current Seal of Rosefinch's Blaze stacks and removes all Seal of Rosefinch's Blaze stacks (min interval between obtaining stacks: 0.1s). Exiting also removes all Seal of Rosefinch's Blaze stacks.

Chronicle of Worldly Tribulations

Unleashes Astral Ring's power and enhances the character.

The character is protected by Wheel of Destiny. While Astral Ring is active:
● Basic ATK SEQ 4 and SEQ 5 and Parry ATK pull nearby enemies. Upon entering Stellar Outburst state, the character unleashes Stellar Assault to deal 400% ATK of Fire DMG.
● Casting Combo ATK triggers a 3s global Time Fracture.
● Parry ATK can connect into Basic ATK SEQ 4 and SEQ 5. After the sub-skill "Forge Clear Mind" is unlocked, Basic ATK SEQ 4 and SEQ 5 after Parry ATK further deal 12% more Fire DMG for 3s; retriggering refreshes the duration.
● While Wheel of Destiny is inactive, in Stellar Outburst state, Ultimate is replaced by A Thousand Weights on a Feather, which deals 2,500% ATK of Fire DMG. During A Thousand Weights on a Feather, the character is invincible and Time-frozen Domain is in effect.

While Wheel of Destiny is active:
● Team members protected by Wheel of Destiny in Stellar Outburst state can trigger Fenghuang of Vicissitude's Phantom to attack, causing on-field team members to deal 1,200% ATK of Adaptive DMG (counts as Shadow Star Attack DMG), and gain a 11s Rondo in the Shadows state.
● In Stellar Outburst state:
○ When entering Stellar Outburst state, the character's current/Max HP becomes 1,500/10,000, and Qi and Heart Flame are removed.
○ When the character is on the field, she cannot be switched out, the [Weapon] button is disabled, her HP cannot drop below 1, and automatic Qi regen stops. Off-field team members are replaced by Phantoms to assist in battle.
○ Barrier of Phoenix's Flames is enhanced, which increases the character's Ignore Interrupt and allows the character to block 100% of DMG taken. When the character casts Combo ATK, Joint ATK, Enhanced Joint ATK, or Parry ATK, the Max HP restored increases to 15%.
○ Tap a Phantom to initiate an assist attack, which removes Qi and Heart Flame and deals 800% ATK of Fire DMG (counts as Shadow Star Attack DMG). Concurrently, the character releases Shadow Star Attack, which resets her Ultimate Evasion Skill's CD and renders her invincible for its duration. Afterward, tap [ATK] to connect into Parry ATK. Releasing Shadow Star Attack sends the character into a 7s Rondo in the Shadows state. Rondo in the Shadows state ends when Stellar Outburst state ends.
◆ In Rondo in the Shadows state, when the character casts Parry ATK or Basic ATK SEQ 4 or SEQ 5, a Phantom is generated to deal 300% ATK of Fire DMG and restore 50 Qi; Basic ATK SEQ 5 restores 30 extra Qi.
◆ For the first Shadow Star Attack, the character switches to Punch Stance and casts Breaching Strike to deal 100% ATK of Fire DMG, restore 1 Heart Flame and 120 Qi, and trigger a 1.5s global Time Fracture. While possessing Cleansing Burn, it deals an additional 750% ATK of Fire DMG.
◆ For the second Shadow Star Attack, the character switches to Kick Stance and casts Flamefall Slash to deal 100% ATK of Fire DMG, restore 1 Heart Flame and 120 Qi, and trigger a 1.5s global Time Fracture. While possessing Cleansing Burn, it deals an additional 1,500% ATK of Fire DMG.
○ In Rondo in the Shadows state, the character enters By Candlelight state after casting Enhanced Joint ATK. While possessing Cleansing Burn, entering By Candlelight state in Punch/Kick Stance triggers a 1.7s/1.2s Time-frozen Domain. When Time-frozen Domain expires, it triggers a 3s global Time Fracture. The character exits By Candlelight state when casting Shadow Star Attack or A Thousand Weights on a Feather or when current HP drops to 1%. Exiting By Candlelight state immediately ends Time-frozen Domain.
○ In By Candlelight state, Basic ATK consumes HP, Candle Flame is applied to increase action speed, HP and Qi cannot be restored, and while possessing Cleansing Burn, Candle Flame deals additional Fire DMG (counts as Shadow Star Attack DMG).
◆ Basic ATK SEQ 1 consumes 15% HP at most. Candle Flame deals an additional 500% ATK of Fire DMG.
◆ Basic ATK SEQ 2 consumes 15% HP at most. Candle Flame deals an additional 500% ATK of Fire DMG.
◆ Basic ATK SEQ 3 consumes 20% HP at most. Candle Flame deals an additional 600% ATK of Fire DMG.
◆ Basic ATK SEQ 4 consumes 25% HP at most. Candle Flame deals an additional 600% ATK of Fire DMG.
◆ Basic ATK SEQ 5 consumes 25% HP at most. Candle Flame deals an additional 700% ATK of Fire DMG.
◆ HP consumed by Basic ATK is converted into Barrier of Phoenix's Flames's shield at a 1:1 ratio.
◆ When exiting By Candlelight state, if the current HP is less than 1,000, restores HP to 1,000, restores 20 SP, and increases the Max HP restored by casting Combo ATK, Joint ATK, Enhanced Joint ATK, or Parry ATK to 30%.
○ After 4s in Stellar Outburst state, tap [ULT] to cast A Thousand Weights on a Feather to deal 1,000% ATK of Fire DMG. During this time, the character is invincible and Time-frozen Domain is in effect.
◆ A Thousand Weights on a Feather can be activated at any SP, and will consume 100 SP at most. For every 1 SP consumed, A Thousand Weights on a Feather deals an additional 8% ATK of Fire DMC capping at 800% ATK of Fire DMG.
◆ A Thousand Weights on a Feather deals additional Fire DMG equal to the HP consumed in By Candlelight state in Stellar Surplus or Stellar Outburst state x 0.08% ATK, which caps at 2,400% ATK of Fire DMG. Finishing A Thousand Weights on a Feather cancels Stellar Outburst, resets the recorded HP consumption, and restores 36% of Max HP.

● In Astral Ring Charging state:
○ On QTE entry, restores 300 Qi for Punch and Kick Stances. Takes effect only once during each Astral Ring Charging state.
○ When Fenghuang of Vicissitude is not the leader, she recovers an additional 80 SP upon QTE entry. This takes effect only once per Astral Ring Charging state.
○ When Fenghuang of Vicissitude is the leader, after casting Enhanced Joint ATK or switching Stances, the next Parry ATK restores 120 Qi, and the Qi recovery efficiency of Basic ATK SEQ 4 and 5 increases by 350%. This effect is disabled in Rondo in the Shadows state.

● For the sub-skills "Nurture Vermillion Fire", "Immortal Blaze", and "Peace Reigns Under Heaven", the duration of buffs applied by entering the field or switching Stances is extended to 25s, and activating Stellar Outburst state counts as switching Stances.
● For the sub-skill "Lifelong Sincerity", the duration of buffs is extended to 25s. This effect triggers when Stellar Outburst state activates.
● Enhanced Joint ATK from the main skill "Awaiting Dawn in the Long Night" no longer consumes Max HP.
● For the main skill "The Light From Fiery Plumes Remains", the duration of global Time Fracture triggered by Ultimate Evasion Skill is extended to 4s.
● After the sub-skill "Cross Earthly Tumult" is unlocked, switching Stances when the evasion skill is not on CD does not consume a reset attempt.

① Fiery Plumes Unfurl

Gains Stellar Drain after Stellar Outburst state ends. In Astral Ring Charging state, casting Joint ATK or Enhanced Joint ATK consumes Stellar Drain on hit to restore 10 Astral Ring Intensity.
● Activating Wheel of Destiny restores 10 extra Astral Ring Intensity.
● Activating Grail of Infinitude restores 10 extra Astral Ring Intensity.
● This character starts battles with Stellar Drain.

② Ink-Stained Phoenix Feather

While Grail of Infinitude is active:
● After QTE entry, the SP cost for activating and maintaining the next Ultimate is reduced to 0. This effect is lost upon exit.
● QTE entry fully restores Qi and Heart Flame.
● When activating Stellar Outburst, if Ultimate's current CD is greater than 4s, it is reduced to 4s.
● In Stellar Outburst state:
○ The character's Max SP increases by 200. After QTE entry, the first Enhanced Joint ATK/Ultimate to hit enemies in Stellar Outburst state restores 160/128 SP.

③ A Cinnabar Heart Turned to the Moon

Activating Wheel of Destiny also activates Stellar Surplus:
● In Astral Ring Charging state, when Astral Ring Intensity reaches its cap, Stellar Surplus state activates, but deactivates when Stellar Outburst state activates. In Stellar Surplus state, every 1 point of Astral Ring Intensity gained is converted into 1 point of Surplus Intensity, which caps at 20 points but is reset to 0 when Stellar Outburst state activates.

● When Fenghuang of Vicissitude is the leader:
○ When Surplus Intensity is greater than or equal to 10/20 points and Fenghuang of Vicissitude is on the field, Phantoms replace off-field team members. Tap a Phantom to call her in to attack, removing Qi and Heart Flame and dealing 300% ATK Fire DMG (counts as Shadow Star Attack DMG). After casting, the character gains Rondo in the Shadows state for 7s, during which automatic Qi regen stops, and casts Shadow Star Attack to deal 100% ATK of Fire DMG and trigger a 1.5s global Time Fracture, during which the character is invincible.
○ While possessing Cleansing Burn, Breaching Strike/Flamefall Slash deal an additional 400%/1,200% ATK of Fire DMG.
○ In Rondo in the Shadows state, when the character casts Parry ATK or Basic ATK SEQ 4 or SEQ 5, a Phantom is generated to deal 300% ATK of Fire DMG and restore 40 Qi, and the character automatically enters By Candlelight state.
○ In By Candlelight state: The character's current/Max HP becomes 10,000/10,000, Basic ATK and Parry ATK consume HP, and Candle Flame is applied to increase action speed; HP and Qi cannot be restored during this time; Barrier of Phoenix's Flames is enhanced, which increases the character's Ignore Interrupt and allows the character to block 100% of DMG taken. Repeatedly tap [ATK] to perform a 6-sequence combo, with each sequence restoring 30 Qi for both Stances.
◆ SEQ 1 is Parry ATK, which resets Ultimate Evasion Skill's CD and consumes up to 8% HP.
◆ SEQ 2 is Basic ATK SEQ 4, which consumes up to 12% HP.
◆ SEQ 3 is Basic ATK SEQ 5, which consumes up to 15% HP and automatically switches Stances on hit.
◆ SEQ 4 is Parry ATK, which resets Ultimate Evasion Skill's CD and consumes up to 8% HP.

◆ In By Candlelight state, while possessing Cleansing Burn, Candle Flame deals additional Fire DMG (counts as Shadow Star Attack DMG), and Parry ATK/Basic ATK SEQ 4/Basic ATK SEQ 5 deals an additional 80%/90%/130% ATK of Fire DMG in Punch Stance and deals an additional 180%/200%/220% ATK of Fire DMG in Kick Stance.
◆ Exits By Candlelight state upon casting Ultimate, entering Stellar Outburst state, Rondo in the Shadows expiring, or current HP dropping to 1%. After exiting By Candlelight state, recovers 36% of Max HP.
◆ When Fenghuang of Vicissitude exits, Rondo in the Shadows state ends.
○ All team members gain Stellar Shine. In Stellar Surplus state, enemies take 6% more Total DMG from all team members. While possessing Cleansing Burn, Stellar Shine is enhanced and provides the following effects:
◆ In Stellar Surplus state, enemies take 10% more Total DMG, 20% more Elemental DMG, and 18% more Physical DMG from all team members.

In Stellar Outburst state: When Fenghuang of Vicissitude possesses Cleansing Burn and is in Elemental Breaker state:
● While Wheel of Destiny is active, enemies take 15% more Total DMG from all team members.
● While Grail of Infinitude is active, enemies take 15% more Total DMG from all team members.

When Fenghuang of Vicissitude is the leader:
● When entering battle, if her initial SP is less than 90, it increases to 90.
● If a teammate is an Ice DMG dealer, when the character possesses Cleansing Burn, PSY-type enemies immune to Ice DMG take 20% more Fire DMG (independent).
● Basic ATK inflicts 2 Ignite Trauma on enemies (CD: 2s). QTE and Combo ATK inflict 2 Ignite Trauma on enemies.
● In Stellar Outburst state, casting A Thousand Weights on a Feather cancels Stellar Outburst and returns 25% of the remaining Astral Ring duration as Astral Ring Intensity.

BBS Equipment Builds

What is BBS and what do the meters mean?

BBS, an official Chinese equivalent to HoYoLAB for miHoYo games, has a Honkai Impact 3 wiki on which they present Captains with what is generally agreed on to be the best equipment builds available, aimed towards both the new and the veteran Captains. BBS separates gear recommendations by what we'll refer to as "tiers" and "criteria".

Tiers serve as means of separating all the different gear builds. Available tiers:

Recommended Equipment: Equipment build suited for what the battlesuit does the best. A lot of the times it's unique to just one specific battlesuit.
Auxiliary Equipment: Extra equipment build specifically for Supports, providing Captains with more alternatives.
Universal Equipment: Equipment build that is interchangeable with other characters performing the same role, without many drawbacks, or the most popular alternative to recommend equipment.
Transitional Equipment: Equipment build that can be used as a placeholder until a better gear is acquired. Easy to get since most if not all items are farmable. Good when starting out.

Criteria are visualized via meters that fill until they reach 100% - at which point the build fully meets the set criteria. Available criteria:

Offensive Ability: How much does the build help the battlesuit deal more dmg?
Functionality: How functional the build is when put together?
Compatibility: How well does the build fit the battlesuit's role/kit?

Trivia

Fenghuang (鳳凰) is a Chinese mythical bird, which is commonly known as the Chinese Phoenix.
浮生 means “fleeting life” or “ephemeral human life”, a word from Zhuangzi’s Outer Chapter “Ingrained Opinions” 《庄子·外篇·刻意》 and the basis of Taoist beliefs which came from an observation of duckweed floating and growing on water as a metaphor for life’s illusory nature during the Warring States period. 浮生 is also Hua’s Signet. ^[1]
- "Vicissitude" means a change of one's life or destination; this is Fu Hua’s Signet name in English.
