Adventurers of Teyvat: Grand Showdown!
Main article: Adventurers of Teyvat: Grand Showdown!
- (On obtaining quest)
- Paimon: Oh, right! Snezhnograd is where the Adventurers' Guild has its headquarters...
- Paimon: We've been doing this adventurer thing all over Teyvat for a long time now. Think word's gotten back to headquarters?
- Paimon: If there's nothing else we need to handle first, let's go take a proper look around!
- (Approach Katheryne)
- Paimon: Huh? That person up ahead looks kind of familiar...
- Paimon: Hold on. Isn't she Lan, the Master of the Liyue branch!?
- Lan: So you really came all the way to the headquarters counter after all?
- Lan: Hey! They're here!
- (Two other people approach the Traveler and Paimon)
- Paimon: Wha—!? What's all this about?
I don't owe anyone money in Snezhnaya, do I?
I haven't made any enemies here, have I?- Lan: Oh, we're not trying to corner you. We've known each other long enough, haven't we? There's no grudge between us.
- Lan: Besides, if we really tried to take you on with what little strength we have, we'd be swept aside before you even got serious.
- Talalikhin: Please forgive us. We merely wished to keep you from vanishing without warning again.
- Talalikhin: If we let you leave now, there's no telling when we'd have another chance to see you.
- Talalikhin: Please, allow me, Talalikhin, clerk of the Snezhnayan Adventurers' Guild Headquarters, to make the matter clear.
- Talalikhin: You, (Traveler), are one of only fifteen S-rank adventurers — with a reputation that has long since outgrown a single page.
- Talalikhin: And there is a tournament of great importance waiting for you. Without you, it will remain forever unfinished.
- Paimon: Aah—! Paimon nearly jumped out of her skin! She thought this was about to turn into a fight in the middle of town...
- Paimon: It's only a tournament, right? Then just say that! Did you think we'd turn you down?
Maybe. Depends on whether you make it worth our while.
If the reward's not good enough, it's not making it onto my schedule.- Paimon: Hey!
- Talalikhin: Naturally. The Mora, supplies, and other compensation have all been arranged to a standard worthy of the both of you.
- Talalikhin: In addition, we've prepared a special buffet just for the two of you, featuring signature dishes selected from the restaurants you've visited during your travels across different nations.
- Talalikhin: And should the menu fall short of Guide Paimon's expectations, the chefs stand ready to prepare whatever she requests.
- Paimon: Really? No limit on how much Paimon can eat?
That is impressively thorough.
You know an awful lot about our travels?- Talalikhin: I admit, it must look as though I have been keeping a careful file on you. Your caution is perfectly reasonable.
- Talalikhin: But please be at ease. In truth, your name carries much weight throughout the Adventurers' Guild than you realize.
- Lan: Long story short, you two cleared commissions that would've kept hundreds of adventurers busy for hundreds of lifetimes. So yes, the whole trade has its eyes on you now...
- Lan: The sharp ones have already started treating your way of doing things like a ready-made walkthrough. Some are even planning to write a book breaking down your every move.
- Lan: All those accounts make their way in from across Teyvat and end up at headquarters in Snezhnaya. Talalikhin's the one stuck sorting through them — and by now, he can probably recite the whole thing in his sleep.
- Lan: And that's exactly why, at a tournament where the strongest adventurers gather, it's only natural for opinions to clash. None of them made it that far by backing down easily.
- Lan: When that happens, (Traveler) is the only one who can break the deadlock and settle the important calls.
- Paimon: Oh... So basically, (Traveler) has become indispensable to the Guild!
- Paimon: Yep, yep! About time they realized it!
Got it. So, what's the actual matter at hand?
Then, tell us how the competition works.- Talalikhin: Let us proceed to the venue without delay. Once we arrive, I will go over the details with you.
- (Talalikhin leads them to the competition venue)
- Talalikhin: As you can see, this is the competition venue.
- Talalikhin: To be precise, this is the venue for the Adventurers' Guild Development Conference.
- Talalikhin: The original purpose of inviting adventurers from every nation was to discuss the future direction of the Guild.
- Talalikhin: However, the discussions have since reached a standstill. With no side willing to give ground, the competition was moved ahead of schedule...
- Lan: The first Adventurers' Tournament was meant to be a friendly gathering for adventurers from every nation. But now, it's turned into a contest for influence.
- Lan: Every regional branch sent a team, with each team led by the strongest adventurer they could contact at short notice.
- Lan: Liyue's got me. Mondstadt's captain is Iris, an old friend I once camped with along Dragonspine's coast. Great in a fight. Hopeless at drinking.
- Lan: Then there's Inazuma's "Workaholic Warrior," Rika... We haven't crossed paths much, but she knows her manners. Good enough in my book.
- Talalikhin: Sumeru's key figure is Lemta, the legendary mercenary. After she spent three and a half years looking after a rookie, most people assumed she was stepping back from the field.
- Talalikhin: Fontaine's captain is a rising talent who works alongside Nadia and Urville, with exceptional planning skills and execution.
- Talalikhin: Natlan is represented by Liliuo, the "Frost Star of Ixquimilli" — a famed tribal warrior whose recent achievements have risen at a remarkable pace.
- Talalikhin: And representing Nod-Krai is Sarin, a promising young talent and a well-rounded competitor. He is highly skilled at managing relations among various factions, and has completed numerous exceptionally difficult commissions...
A few familiar faces, huh.
There are plenty we haven't met.- Paimon: Paimon's getting dizzy just listening to all these names... While we were off doing our thing, the adventuring world was busy turning out all kinds of big shots, huh?
- Lan: (Traveler)'s only got one thing to do. Knock every opponent flat... me included.
- Lan: Ahem, in proper terms, that means taking first place in all four main skill challenges...
- Lan: The "Trigger Reflex Trial" will let you demonstrate your unparalleled command of the new musket.
- Lan: "Maze of Frost and Foresight" is your chance to show the next generation how seasoned adventurers think on their feet when navigating Domains.
- Lan: "Roly-Poly Domain Raid" is where you can let your strength do the talking. Get a read on the Domain's quirks, then throw yourself into the fight and have at it.
- Lan: And with the new "Precision Express Handling," we'll see how well you can keep things moving while staying in control — the mark of an adventurer who can manage every part of the operation at once.
- Talalikhin: All four challenges feature brand-new designs, ensuring that no team can rely on prior experience. They'll have to adapt on the fly and prove their mettle in action.
- Talalikhin: Once you achieve a score beyond comparison, many of the issues raised at this conference will be settled by your judgment.
- Paimon: Come to think of it, don't you and Talalikhin have any requests of your own?
- Lan: Do I seem like the type to sit around debating whether adventurers need a clock-in policy?
- Lan: I already got the Liyue Branch more funding and better bonuses. As for the remaining issues, I'm fine with whatever they decide.
- Talalikhin: For my part, as the representative from headquarters, I simply hope we can arrive at a resolution that earns everyone's confidence, and bring this conference to a successful close.
- Paimon: Hmm... Paimon gets it now!
- Paimon: Let's see, let's see...
- Paimon: This might sound a little rude, but the Paimon Power Detector has finished scanning.
- Paimon: Yep, they're definitely strong adventurers, and they deserve every bit of recognition. No wonder they could put up such a good fight.
- Paimon: But (Traveler)? (Traveler) is only S-rank because nobody bothered to invent a higher one!
Now that's the kind of assessment I can get behind.
Let's keep our feet on the ground. You never know when a hidden master might step forward...- Paimon: Anyway, once you sign up, Paimon can already see where this is headed!
- Paimon: Besides, this is a contest no one's ever tried before. It sounds fun, the rewards are worth chasing, and we get to help the Adventurers' Guild while we're at it.
- Paimon: So let's set the tone from the very start!
Paimon's "Driyosh" Way of Solving Problems
Main article: Paimon's "Driyosh" Way of Solving Problems
You and Paimon have won the first Adventurers' Tournament. Rewards from Snezhnaya Headquarters should be on the way, along with a few rather unusual questions...
- (Approach the podium)
- Competition Broadcaster: Esteemed adventurers from all across Teyvat, the first Adventurers' Tournament has officially come to an end.
- Competition Broadcaster: The results are clear: (Traveler) and (his/
her) guide have taken the championship by storm — every bit the legends their performance promised! - Sarin: Fantastic work!
- Valerina: Congratulations, both of you!
- Sukhrab: I may not know this senior very well yet, but... (he/
she) has shown me exactly what I should strive for... - Lan: Being knocked out of first place at the last moment would usually leave me a little unconvinced.
- Lan: But when it's you and Paimon who did it, there's nothing to object to. I should be raising a glass in your honor!
- Rika: Now that's worth drinking to!
- Talalikhin: And along with the Mora, we've prepared a few keepsakes to mark the occasion. Please wait just a moment...
Thank you, thank you.
You really don't have to be so formal.- Paimon: Honestly, we did kind of stumble into the whole thing, and it wasn't exactly a packed house. But hey, for a competition put together at the last minute, it was pretty fun!
- Paimon: Besides, we got to give those new abilities a proper workout!
- Rika: Then, about the victory feast...?
- Iris: The drinks can wait. We still haven't dealt with the main reason this competition was held.
- Rika: Oh! Right, good point.
- Lan: Now that we have a person everyone can place their trust in, it's time to resume our earlier meeting.
- Talalikhin: For any proposal put to a vote, the rules state that (Traveler)'s vote carries as much weight as everyone else's combined.
- Paimon: Combined... as in, everyone else's votes all added together... Wait, does that mean—
- Lan: (Traveler)'s vote alone can approve or veto a proposal. (He/
She) may also offer revisions directly. - Paimon: So that's what being champion really means... What (Traveler) says here could end up affecting hundreds, maybe thousands, of adventurers?
I'll need to be careful with what I say.
Let's make sure we think this through.- Urville: So, by all logical reasoning, the two of you are now at the top of the pecking order.
- Liliuo: Then that makes you our boss! Meeting time — please listen to our report!
- As the lengthy discussion continues, your suggestions help settle several key rules and clauses...
- The first pending rule turned into a chain of questions:
"Should full-time adventurers affiliated with the Guild have a required morning check-in time if they're not taking commissions outside the city?"
"If so, should it be 08:00 or 09:00?"
"What about the earliest possible off-duty time? How long should the lunch break be?"...
This single rule alone sparked a two-hour debate earlier.
Natlan and Sumeru representatives strongly opposed the idea, arguing that adventurers have highly irregular schedules — some operate at night, and may sleep through the entire day, even to the point where they can barely hold a sword properly due to reversed day-night cycles. - Fontaine and Inazuma, on the other hand, believed standardized management would improve Guild efficiency, and that adventurers could gradually adapt to healthier routines...
As for you and Paimon, considering you've never once reported to the Guild counter at a fixed time yourselves, you proposed a simple solution: Just set a latest check-in time each day.
All branches accepted this without objection. A problem that had remained unresolved for two hours was settled by you two in just ten minutes... - "How should we quantify mission difficulty and define the standards for commissions adventurers can take?"
"Should the system be strict, or more lenient for flexibility?"
Once a difficulty rating system is introduced, commissions previously all classified as B-rank — such as those nicknamed "The Measure of a Mushroom" and "Emergency" — could differ by as much as 95 points in difficulty.
The downside is that we could prevent 30% to 50% of ordinary adventurers from accessing the latter half of commissions within the same rank, potentially reducing their income, discouraging participation, and harming the Guild's overall morale and potential.
The upside, however, is clear: With concrete numbers in front of them, fewer adventurers would overestimate their abilities and recklessly challenge powerful monsters. Injury rates would drop significantly, and medical costs would also be greatly reduced...
The issue left both you and Paimon scratching your heads. It seemed like both sides had a point, so it was no wonder neither could convince the other.
In the end, Paimon brought up one of the fundamental principles every Driyosh is expected to know, "the fundamental principles for conducting experiments on hypotheses involving unpredictable risks," and gave you a detailed explanation...
Drawing on those principles, you decided that each branch should first have its Intelligence Department compile and organize information gathered by ordinary adventurers. This would allow commissions to be evaluated more accurately and reduce errors caused by the current broad-brush rating system.- Next, a sufficiently large random sample of adventurers would be selected from the three participating branches and divided into six groups with evenly distributed strength and ranks for a pilot program. The existing system and the new mechanics would then be applied to the groups in separate instances. Throughout the trial, the Guild would track metrics such as adventurer efficiency, injury rates, overall resource expenditure, and losses. The two systems will then be evaluated comprehensively to determine which should become our main approach. If necessary, different branches could even adopt different systems.
The representatives present unanimously agreed and resolved to begin drafting their respective implementation plans after the meeting concluded. - The remaining sixteen major rules are also adjusted with input from you and Paimon, before being finalized in a form that earns strong approval from all sides...
- Urville: So, every agenda item has its conclusion. Am I correct?
- Liliuo: And the rules I was most nervous about didn't blow up into another argument. That's good enough for me!
- Sarin: Hmm, (Traveler) and Paimon's suggestions really hit the nail on the head...
- Talalikhin: And with that, our long, comprehensive, and productive discussion finally comes to a close. A final consensus has been reached. Thank you all for your efforts.
- Talalikhin: Next, the staff at Headquarters will prepare the final documents and send them to everyone for another review. Before you leave, please remember to stop by and sign them with me...
- Talalikhin: As for follow-up matters, Headquarters will dispatch specialists to each branch at the appropriate time to assess the progress of implementation. When that time comes, we ask for every branch's active cooperation.
- Rika: I agree with everything you said.
- Lan: Same here. No objections.
- The adventurers in attendance each say their farewells to you as the meeting adjourns.
The tense atmosphere left behind by their earlier quiet rivalry has completely faded away... - Paimon: Phew... Paimon thought there'd be a whole bunch of super-tricky stuff to deal with, but it actually wasn't that bad?
- Paimon: At least, none of it was serious enough to make the adventurers from some branch flip the table. And most of it could be solved with the theories from the books.
Actually, it wasn't exactly easy for me.
I'm not sure I could've managed it without you, Paimon...- Paimon: Really? Paimon made that big a difference this time?
- Paimon: Yay! Paimon feels so useful, and so happy!
- Talalikhin: Headquarters is fortunate to have had your assistance as well.
- Talalikhin: Without the two of you here today, I fear matters would have been far more difficult to bring to a proper close.
- Paimon: Hmm... Then why go through all this trouble in the first place?
- Talalikhin: Hmm... Perhaps the more meaningful the goal, the harder the path to reach it.
- Talalikhin: The Adventurers' Guild spans all of Teyvat. For an organization of such scale, discussions like today's may seem complex, contentious, and far too time-consuming at first glance.
- Talalikhin: But if we disregard the concerns of members from each region and simply force rules into place, then enforce them by decree...
- Talalikhin: The Guild will slowly lose the trust that holds it together. No organization can last long that way.
- Talalikhin: We must learn to coordinate with one another before problems appear. Waiting until something goes wrong and then resorting to emergency measures may well be too late.
- Talalikhin: For that reason, we must address each detail promptly while also exercising greater patience throughout the process.
- Paimon: That's Headquarters staff for you... That explanation was really deep...
- Paimon: So can we just say the result means we got off to a good start?
Every rule received unanimous approval.
And everyone left looking much more at ease.- Talalikhin: Naturally. I would call it a textbook example of a perfect beginning.
- Talalikhin: I need not belabor the point — the next time your travels take you from region to region, you will see what this meeting has set in motion.
- Talalikhin: It may not amount to anything dazzling, but it will surely bring a touch of your... distinctive vitality to every branch.

Diona
Dialogue Set #1
Only plays the first time the player speaks to Diona after completing Adventurers of Teyvat: Grand Showdown!'
- Diona: (Traveler)? And Paimon?
- Diona: Hmph. The adventurers were just saying that a pair of big-shot veterans had joined the competition halfway through. Should've known they meant you two.
- Paimon: Wait, is Paimon seeing things? What's Diona doing in Snezhnaya?
Are you here looking for drink ingredients?
Still working toward your lifelong goal?- Diona: That's right! I've put a ton of time and Mora into this, so I'm finding the best ingredients no matter what! Then I'll make those drunkards run screaming from the bar!
- Paimon: Huh... Did you hear about some legend or something?
- Diona: Something like that, yeah...
- Diona: Actually, when I asked Miss Margaret for time off, I hadn't even picked a place to go yet. So I just went with Snezhnaya.
- Diona: Sounds far away and like it'll take forever, doesn't it? Perfect!
- Diona: I don't know how long I'll be gone either, so I'll just search as I go. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something amazing!
- Diona: Hmph! If those old drunks still want a drink, they'll have to go somewhere else.
You've got a pretty good attitude about it.
That sounds like the best kind of trip.- Diona: I was in Fontaine for a while before this, you know. Maybe I'll even go back later and look around some more.
- Diona: We met during that divination thing in Fontaine, remember? I'd already picked out a few ingredients by then.
- Diona: But just as I was about to leave Fontaine, I ran into Iris. She's the most well-mannered customer at the tavern... She never drinks in front of me!
- Diona: Her team was headed to Snezhnaya for the competition, and when she heard I was looking for awful-tasting ingredients, she said I could come with them.
- Paimon: So that random place you named actually ended up being where you went...
- Diona: Pretty great, right? Iris and her team even hired me to mix drinks at the competition, so they're covering the rest of my trip!
- Diona: And I've already found tons of useful stuff. Right after I arrived, I tried this homemade half-fermented rye wort...
- Diona: Ugh... It tasted terrible. Just thinking about it makes that wet, woody smell come right back.
- Diona: Next, I'm gonna study this ingredient properly and figure out how to use it to make those drunkards suffer!
- Diona: The adventurers here at the competition are perfect test subjects.
- Paimon: For some reason... Paimon has a bad feeling this won't go the way Diona thinks it will.
Dialogue Set #2
Available before completing Paimon's "Driyosh" Way of Solving Problems.
- Diona: Now that I think about it, (Traveler), it's quite a coincidence that we ran into each other all the way out here in Snezhnograd...
So, are you making me a drink?
- Diona: Mm-hmm... All right!
- Diona: Just this once, okay? Think of it as me cheering you on, (Traveler).
- Diona: Drink my special blend, then go serve those boozehound adventurers a knuckle sandwich!
- Diona: Ahem! But don't push your luck — one drink only!
- Diona gets to work, mixing the drink with practiced ease.
- The Snezhnayan mixing tools look just a touch too large in her hands.
And yet, her speed and precision seem almost magical. Every step of the mixing process is honed down to the smallest detail. Each reach for an ingredient, each shake of the mixer — there isn't the slightest wasted motion. - Before long, a beautiful special blend is set on the table.[Doesn't appear at the start, when does this actually appear?]
- Diona: Okay, here you go. This is a Mondstadt classic, "Snow-Kissed Dawn."
- Diona: Milk, Smetana, and cocoa. It tastes great, gives you energy, and it's perfect for a place like this.
- You raise the glass and take a small sip. A familiar, gentle sweetness spreads through your mouth, warming you enough that the snowy chill seems to fade a little...
- Diona: How does it taste?
Pretty good. Almost as good as mine.
- Diona: Hmph! I know you can make drinks too, but that's pretty bold of you to say.
I could make this flavor too, you know.
- Diona: Nice confidence. Then keep practicing until you can make one this good!
- Diona: I'm still not used to the ingredients and tools here, and I bet you aren't either.
- Diona: So when we get back to Mondstadt, stop by The Cat's Tail. We'll see who's better and trade some tips.
- Diona: Maybe in six months or so, you'll be ready to be my assistant.
- Diona: Then you can help me make the perfect awful drink!
Did you find anything else useful?
- Diona: Yep! There's way more to work with than just rye wort.
- Diona: Snezhnayan plants are really something, you know? Once you get past the edible parts, a lot of them have this faint bitterness, with a chilly little kick at the end... like fresh snow?
- Diona: Especially Golden Fern leaves! They're a local specialty.
- Diona: They're nothing like the stuff that grows on Dragonspine. Once that bitter taste hits your tongue, no amount of water can wash it away.
- Diona: You're just stuck with it for hours, until it finally fades.
- Diona: Hehehe... Perfect. I'll use these to make every drink a nightmare for those rotten drunkards...
I'll leave you to it, Diona.
- Diona: I'd better get moving, then. I'll have those booze-loving adventurers wailing over their drinks in no time.
Dialogue Set #3
Available after completing Paimon's "Driyosh" Way of Solving Problems.
- Diona: Hehe, look at you, (Traveler)! Taking first place and everything, not bad at all! Congrats!
- Diona: And guess what? I've got good news too. I made a huge haul this time!
- Diona: After all my testing, the top three flavor weapons were highly concentrated, partially fermented rye wort, withered Golden Fern roots, and dried Rimecurrant peels...
- Diona: So next time we meet in Mondstadt, you'll be hearing all about my total victory!
