Marcel Group

The Marcel Group is a faction in Zenless Zone Zero. They are a company that manufacture and certify Bangboo.

Overview

Marcel Group are a company that are known to work primarily in the creation and maintaining of Bangboo. They operate the shop BooBox which allows for the direct purchase of Bangboo for citizens, and also are responsible for the creation and administration of various programs and certifications for Bangboo. Such examples include the Bangboo Training Program which has courses focused on integration with humanity, and Hollow Operations Certificates, which are required for Bangboo that wish to become part of H.A.N.D., Hollow Investigative Association and Public Security in the roles of Agents, Investigators or Officers respectively.^[1]

The company's headquarters is located near the Minerva Storm Belt.^[2] This area is noted for having incredibly strong winds, and for the Companion Hollow located right in the middle of the belt that is continuously capped by clouds. Some Bangboo feel a sense of nostalgia when looking at pictures or recreations of this location.

History

The Marcel Group was a company once run by Lady Sunbringer. During her time as CEO, she invented the concept of Bangboo.^[3] During the catastrophe, a prototype Bangboo was taken by Investigation Guild leader "Joyous" into the Divine Maze. There, he made the first ever carrot and stored it within the Bangboo.^[4][5]

At some point in time, Marcel Group became a member of TOPS, which it remains part of to this day.

• The name Marcel is the Occitan deviation of the Ancient Roman name "Marcellus," meaning "belonging to Mars."
