Playable Characters

Wriothesley is a playable Ousia-aligned Cryo character in Genshin Impact.

Having killed his abusive foster parents to save his adoptive siblings, Wriothesley was sentenced and exiled to the Fortress of Meropide in his teenage years. He eventually became its Administrator and has enforced a series of reforms under his rule, serving as a role model for the prisoners.

Normal Attack
Coalescing frost about his fist, Wriothesley will unleash powerful Repelling Fists, performing up to 5 rapid attacks that deal Cryo DMG.
Apart from this, Normal Attack combo count will not reset for a short time after using Icefang Rush or sprinting.

Charged Attack
Consumes a fixed amount of Stamina to leap and unleash a Vaulting Fist, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.

Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE Cryo DMG upon impact.

Unlike most Catalyst-wielding characters, Wriothesley's Normal and Charged Attacks produce hitlag when hitting an opponent.
Unlike most Catalyst-wielding characters, and like most Sword- and Polearm-wielding characters, Wriothesley's Charged Attack must be preceded by at least one Normal Attack.

Passive Talent 1, There Shall Be a Plea for Justice: "When Wriothesley's HP is less than 60%, he will obtain a Gracious Rebuke. The next Charged Attack of his Normal Attack: Forceful Fists of Frost will be enhanced to become Rebuke: Vaulting Fist. It will not consume Stamina, will deal 50% increased DMG, and after hitting will restore HP for Wriothesley equal to 30% of his Max HP. You can gain a Gracious Rebuke this way once every 5s."

Adjusting his breathing, rhythm, and pace, Wriothesley sprints forward a short distance, entering the Chilling Penalty state and unleashing more powerful attacks than before.

Chilling Penalty

Increases Wriothesley's interruption resistance
When his HP is above 50%, it will enhance the Repelling Fists of Normal Attack: Forceful Fists of Frost and increase its DMG. When such an attack hits, it will consume a fixed amount of Wriothesley's HP. HP can be lost this way once every 0.1s.

This effect will be canceled should Wriothesley leave the field.

When a Normal Attack during the Chilling Penalty state while above 50% HP hits at least one enemy, it generates 1 Elemental Particle.
- Hitting non-enemy objects will also generate particles.
- This particle generation has a cooldown of 2 seconds, which is shared with the particle generation from Rebuke: Vaulting Fist.
- Charged and Plunging Attacks during Chilling Penalty do not generate particles.

Passive Effects

There Shall Be a Plea for Justice

1st Ascension Passive

Gameplay Notes

When Wriothesley's HP is less than 60%, he will obtain a Gracious Rebuke. The next Charged Attack of his Normal Attack: Forceful Fists of Frost will be enhanced to become Rebuke: Vaulting Fist. It will not consume Stamina, will deal 50% increased DMG, and after hitting will restore HP for Wriothesley equal to 30% of his Max HP.
You can gain a Gracious Rebuke this way once every 5s.

When Rebuke: Vaulting Fist hits at least one enemy, it generates 1 Elemental Particle.
- Hitting non-enemy objects will also generate particles.
- This particle generation has a cooldown of 2 seconds, which is shared with the particle generation from Normal Attacks during Elemental Skill.
Gracious Rebuke will not be consumed if Rebuke: Vaulting Fist fails to hit an enemy or object.
Rebuke: Vaulting Fist has a much larger AoE than the unenhanced Charged Attack.
The 5-second cooldown only starts after Gracious Rebuke is consumed.
When Wriothesley obtains Gracious Rebuke, an emblem will appear over him accompanied by a sound cue. While he remains in the Gracious Rebuke state he will emit dark red mist.

There Shall Be a Reckoning for Sin

When Wriothesley's current HP increases or decreases, if he is in the Chilling Penalty state conferred by Icefang Rush, Chilling Penalty will gain one stack of Prosecution Edict. Max 5 stacks. Each stack will increase Wriothesley's ATK by 6%.

Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: The Ascension Talent "There Shall Be a Plea for Justice" is changed to the following:
When Wriothesley's HP is less than 60%, he will obtain a "Gracious Rebuke: Unveiling." This enhances the next Charged Attack of his Normal Attack: Forceful Fists of Frost into Luster: Vaulting Fist, which will not consume Stamina and restores 30% Max HP to Wriothesley upon hit. Wriothesley can gain HP in this way once every 2s.
Additionally, the third and fifth strikes of Repelling Fist enhanced by Chilling Penalty will deal 60% and 80% of their original Cryo DMG respectively, while Luster: Vaulting Fist will deal 100% of its original AoE Cryo DMG. The aforementioned DMG is considered as Stellar-Conduct DMG, and Wriothesley deals 30% increased Stellar-Conduct DMG.
Additionally, when inside a Polestar Field, Wriothesley will enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state.

Character Description

Wriothesley's Normal Attacks and Charged Attacks all deal Cryo DMG. His Elemental Skill enhances his Normal Attacks, but also causes him to lose HP at the same time.
When Wriothesley's HP is relatively low, his Charged Attacks will be enhanced, and he will regain HP after hitting opponents with them.
His Elemental Burst will deal continuous Cryo DMG to opponents, and deal ousia-aligned Cryo DMG at the end.

When Darkgold Wolfbite is unleashed, each instance of the Prosecution Edict effect from the Ascension Talent "There Shall Be a Reckoning for Sin" will increase the DMG dealt by 40%.

Additionally, when the Prosecution Edict stack reaches 5, if Wriothesley:

Is in the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state: The Talent "There Shall Be a Reckoning for Sin" will be enhanced, so that the third and fifth strikes of Repelling Fist, when enhanced by Chilling Penalty, deal 90% or 120% of their original Cryo DMG respectively, while Luster: Vaulting Fist will deal 150% of its original AoE Cryo DMG. The HP restored to Wriothesley through Rebuke: Vaulting Fist will be increased to 50% of his Max HP. You must first unlock the Ascension Talent "There Shall Be a Plea for Justice."
Additionally, when Wriothesley is healed, if the amount of healing overflows, the following effects will occur depending on whether he is on the field or not. If he is on the field, his ATK SPD will be increased by 20% for 4s. If he is off-field, all of your own party members' ATK SPD will be increased by 10% for 6s. These two methods of increasing ATK SPD cannot stack.
