Profile

Fu Xuan is the head of the Divination Commission on the Luofu, and is aiming for the position of Arbiter-General of the Luofu.^[1] She wields the omniscia, a gift given to her by Nous, granting her the ability to foresee the future without the use of the Matrix of Prescience.^[2][3] She was the disciple of the Jingtian, the late Master Diviner of the Yuque, who sacrificed his life to call upon Lan.^[4]

Her speeches are known to make people sleepy.^[5][6] She also prefers sweet drinks as it lessens her fatigue,^[7][8] to the point where she is putting sugar power in her medicine,^[9] and preferring startaro bubble tea over Immortal's Delight.^[10]

Fu Xuan began to believe in fatalism after she had her eye implanted by Nous.^[2] She and her master has already divined that she would become the Yuque's Master Diviner.^[11] She is also the author of Glimpses into the Beyond.

Appearance

Fu Xuan is a petite woman with pink hair that fades to purple, pinned into two hoops with four golden ji hairpins. Two have pink tassels and crescent moon ornaments. Two sections of her hair are tied into low twintails, her bangs frame her face and are layered, with a long section of hair in the front right. Her eyes are gold with pink highlights, an amethyst colored gemstone embedded in her forehead.

She wears a thigh-length shoulderless dress with a ruffled skirt. The top of the dress is dark brown with gold lining, white and purple ruffles, intricate details, and a longer front panel. The back of the dress has two panels with purple ropes looped through the top, connecting to a ruffled choker. Her skirt is high-low, and decorated with gold and white details. The back of the skirt ends into two ruffled fabrics. A purple Chinese flower knot is placed on the front right of her skirt. Her choker is connected to a purple and gold tasseled-ornament, the left of her hip features a white rectangular ornament with a purple tassel.

Fu Xuan has separate short sleeves in purple and white, two long panels connects to the sleeves, with gold detailing and white ruffles. Her left wrist is adorned in a long white ruffled cuff, while her right hand has a one finger glove, both featuring cloud patterns. She dons white stockings with cloud patterns and golden constellations, her heels are cuffed and black with gold soles. Above her black heeled shoes are variations of the Chinese knot with tassels in purple.

History

Fu Xuan was a junior soror to Yao Guang back on the Yuque, often arguing with her on every matter.^[12] The young Fu Xuan saw the operations and rites conducted by Yuque diviners, divining the brilliant future for her where she would claim the throne of the Yuque's master diviner.^[2] The divination results was submitted to Jingtian, and he agreed to personally supervising her tutelage. He taught her that "everything is predetermined," often adding anecdotes to his claims.^[13] Eventually, Jingtian told Fu Xuan a divination he had made before taking her in: Fu Xuan would be the cause of his death. Offended by her master's assumption that she was treacherous to the point of killer her own master, Fu Xuan fled from the Yuque, determined to not let the divination become true. She became a diviner of the Luofu, devoting herself to calculating the future for centuries.^[11]

When the Third Abundance War descended, Fu Xuan divined that unless they keep up a defensive position on the Fanghu, the Xianzhou would meet a devastating defeat. She submitted her report to the Arbiter-Generals, expecting them to choose attacking, and they did. As divined, the Xianzhou suffered a defeat, as the Ketu Mirage was summoned, and the borisin blotted out the sky, causing countless fatalities. She went to Jing Yuan and suggested to summon the Reignbow's Lux Arrow, which he agreed to do. However, the person chosen to sacrifice themselves to pilot the Cloudpeer Telescope was her master, Jingtian, fulfilling the divination made centuries ago.^[14]

One day, she was invited to Nous' library and asked her question about fate. However, Nous did not answer the question directly, allowing her to take the omniscia instead. Once she took the Omniscia, she began to relive her past, and began to realize that Jingtian was right in saying that everything was predetermined.^[2][14]

As Kafka was fighting the Astral Express crew, Fu Xuan descended from above Kafka's bullets, wherein Kafka immediately surrendered, and took her into custody.^[15] She used the Matrix of Prescience Ultima to investigate if Kafka was not related to the recent Stellaron disaster on the Luofu, and the Matrix showed that they were innocent.^[16] Due to the Ambrosial Arbor's growth, Jing Yuan gave Fu Xuan the ability to command the Cloud Knights and investigate the cause of the growth, where they found Dan Shu and the hiding Phantylia who was disguised as Tingyun.^[17] Jing Yuan stepped in, and commanded Fu Xuan to stay behind as him and the Astral Express crew went on to fight Phantylia.^[18] When Phantylia was finally defeated, Fu Xuan asked the crew to deliver Tingyun's remaining keepsakes to Yukong.^[19]

Before the Express departed for Penacony, March 7th went to Fu Xuan to ask her to relive her past using the Matrix of Prescience. Fu Xuan, already having divined this outcome, agreed to let March recall her memories. However, they kept running into obstacles along the way, revealing a Memokeeper has been watching from behind the scenes. While not being able to recall her past, Fu Xuan managed to glimpse that Fuli was protecting March from her memories, and it was another Aeon who sealed them.^[10]

Fu Xuan took part in the Amphoreus War, being the representative of the Xianzhou Alliance.^[20] She also agreed to initiate the spread of As I've Written across the Xianzhou to speed up its creation.^[21]

• The scene of Fu Xuan's first appearance in Trailblaze Mission Stars Spun, Prescience Sprung was first revealed at the end of the Tokyo Game Show 2022 "Witness" trailer before the release of the Final Closed Beta and the addition of the Xianzhou Luofu to the game.
  • Fu Xuan's introduction was also the end of the available main story in the Final Closed Beta.

Etymology

• 符 fú means "sign" or "talisman," and 玄 xuán means "mysterious."
