Dreampeek Call

Last updated 2025-05-31

Dreampeek Calls are points of interests on Penacony. They are gadgets created by a Dreamscape Motivator named Carl.[1]

The character's dream that the Dreampeek Call peeks into is dependent on its location, and each Dreampeek Call can only be used once before becoming inactive.

Dialogue

Icon Dialogue Loupe Dreampeek Call
A peculiarly designed telephone is fixed in place, waiting for curious passersby to pick up its receiver.
*ring*... *ring*!
Dreampeek Call: Good evening, esteemed guest! Would you be interested in making a Dreampeek Call today?
Icon Dialogue Alert What is a "Dreampeek Call"?
Dreampeek Call: A wonderful question! Please allow me to introduce you to the wonders of the Dreampeek Call, dear new guest!
Dreampeek Call: Just insert a small amount of Alfalfa creditscredits, and the phone will automatically search your contacts for a sleeping friend and allow you to listen to their dreams...
Dreampeek Call: ...and let you know what your friend is dreaming about! Isn't it thrilling and fun?
Icon Dialogue Return It doesn't sound very... ethical, right?
The phone suddenly emits a crisp ring, leaving you uncertain whether it is a taunt or a hearty laugh.
*ring* An "ethical partygoer in Penacony"! I must admit that your joke is quite refined!
Icon Dialogue Return Now you understand.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Dial the Dreampeek Call.
(Submit Credit Credit ×1000)
Dreampeek Call: *dial tone*
Dreampeek Call: *ring*... *ring*... *ring*...

(Concluding a Dreampeek Call)
Dreampeek Call: *ring* Thank you for using the Dreampeek Call service! Please come back next time!

(If the Dreampeek Call has already been used)
Dreampeek Call: *dial tone*
Dreampeek Call: *ring*... *ring*... *ring*...
Dreampeek Call: ...I'm sorry, but there is currently no one available to connect you to your Dreampeek Call. Please ensure that at least one of your friends in your contacts is in deep sleep and try again.

(Bronya variant)
Dreampeek Call: The Dreampeek Call connected. You are about to hear Bronya Rand's dream.
(Enter call)
Bronya: Ah... that wouldn't work...
Bronya: Seele, don't...
Icon Dialogue Arrow (Holding your breath)
Icon Dialogue Arrow Oh gosh, this is my favorite episode!
Bronya: ...Don't use so much force! That box contains handicrafts Mother gave me, and they could break easily.
Seele: I see... Why didn't you mention it earier? Fine, I'll leave it alone for now, and you'll move it yourself...
(Exit call)
The plot takes an unexpected turn, leaving you both irritated and frustrated. You hang up the phone.

Icon Dialogue Arrow ...Hmm?
Icon Dialogue Arrow ...Huh?
Icon Dialogue Arrow ...Uh...uh...

You end the call with mixed emotions. Who could have expected such an outcome?
However, this outcome does resolve a long-standing confusion for you: Androids do dream of electric sheep.

(Silver Wolf variant)
Dreampeek Call: The Dreampeek Call connected. You are about to hear Silver Wolf's dream.
(Enter call)
Match Broadcast: What an impressive strike! As expected of the top seed, Silver Wolf's Overlord Aether Spirit effortlessly overcame her opponent, securing another easy victory!
Match Broadcast: I hereby declare... the champion of this year's Interastral Tournamant Festival... is Silver Wolf!
You hear thunderous cheers from the receiver. Silver Wolf, standing at the center of the stage and reveling in the moment, shouts her victorious line...
Silver Wolf: Aetherium Wars, activate!
(Exit call)
....It appears that Silver Wolf is still frustrated by her loss in the previous tournament. Indeed, a game without any pay-to-win elements is something that only appears in dreams.

(Enter call)
Lyceum Abecedary: Then we'll announce the scores for this exam. I'll announce the scores and rankings from lowest to highest, as usual.

Topaz: The 143rd Marketing Team has 6 research reports overdue by almost 10 days. I need to push them.
Topaz: The departmental expense and travel expenditure reports for this quarter have not been verified. I probably don't have enough time to handle it myself... I'll let Numby do it.
Topaz: Oh, yeah, I almost forgot to buy pet food suited for Vonwacq baby lizards for those three cuties! I'll place the order once I wake up.
Physiological Timer: Ding! You have slept for 1 hour and 26 minutes, with 3 hours and 4 minutes remaining.
(Exit call)
...You hang up, feeling a sense of despair. The life of a senior executive juggling millions of things every day feels too foreign to you.

Penacony Paperfold University College

(Boothill variant)
Dreampeek Call: The Dreampeek Call connected. You are about to hear Boothill's dream.
(Enter call)
Gentle Female Voice: The steamed veg is ready. Try it while it's hot. Nick? You telling Boothill those cowboy tales again?
Boothill: I don't get it. Why leave ya hometown just to find that gang who robbed them and take revenge?
Boothill: There's food 'n' drink, and family'n' friends here. To throw all that away and pursue someone who might not even exist, is it worth it?
Harsh Male Voice: Haha, of course you don't get it. There ain't no reason needed for vengeance. Only baddies need reasons.
Gentle Female Voice: But wasting a delicious dinner is just as easily punishable. Come now, tidy up the table. And Boothill, don't forget your milk!
Boothill: Hey! I'm long past the age to be drinking milk. Leave that boring milk to the old and stuffy.
Harsh Male Voice: You rascal, you won't grow taller if you don't drink milk. I'll pour some into your cup.
Boothill: No! That's the malt juice I just got!
(Exit call)
The call fizzles amidst the stewing sounds of boiled vegetables. You never knew of a time when Boothill would be so happy — a time just as unfathomable as him drinking milk.

(Dr. Ratio variant)
Dreampeek Call: The Dreampeek Call connected. You are about to hear Professor Ratio's dream.
(Enter call)
The distinct sound of splashing water can be heard from the other side. You're guessing that professor who pursues pure thought is being submerged in the bathtub right now.
Dr. Ratio: On Memoria Principles ...To think that the Nightingale Family would choose a book with such rudimentary theory as a gift. How laughable.
Dr. Ratio: Mystery of the Imperator Insectorum's Fall ...When did the Intelligentsia Guild start writing academic material for high schools?
Dr. Ratio: Dr. Primitive's Secret Identity ...Does the IPC really think I'd be interested in such street tabloids?
Dr. Ratio: How banal. Is there no conundrum to stimulate my brain?
Professor, the bath salt is almost past its effective period. Might I ask what type you wish to use next?
Dr. Ratio: ...Not bad. You brought up a question worthy of thinking about.
(Exit call)
..It appears that even the most intelligent mind also contemplates on questions like "What to eat today."

(Huohuo variant)
Dreampeek Call: The Dreampeek Call connected. You are about to hear Huohuo's dream.
(Enter call)
Guinaifen: Huohuo! I heard that heliobi are haunting Fyxestroll Garden again! We should go check it out.
Huohuo: Let's go. I've got my gourd with me anyway, and I'll make sure to bust all these prankster jerks this time!
Guinaifen: Oh Huohuo, you really are the most reliable judge of the Ten-Lords Commission. I'm counting on you...
Hanya: Judge Huohuo. Please accompany me to the Shackling Prison. The criminal accused of the Ten Unpardonable Sins is about to be sentenced.
Huohuo: Understood. Madam Hanya, it's dark in the jail, and the walk is long. Please follow behind me, in case we run into trouble.
Hanya: Mm, this case is quite tricky. Good thing you were at the commission, or who knows how long this would have taken...
...Huo... huo...
Huohuo: Pathetic, a puny heliobus dares disrupt my peace and quiet. A Ten-Lords Commission judge stands before you! All evil spirits should turn tail and start fleeing!
??: Hah, you sure are a bratty one. How about saying that one more time to my face?
Huohuo: ...Uwaaahh!
(Exit call)
The call ends here. You're not sure if Huohuo was rudely awoken from a dream, or she was dragged away by Mr. Tail to parts unknown — it'd be disastrous if such somniloquy was accidentally spoken.

(Robin variant)
Dreampeek Call: The Dreampeek Call connected. You are about to hear Robin's dream.
(Enter call)
Miss Teacher, the explosions are getting closer. We... will be okay, right?
Robin: Don't worry. Those sounds are just someone pressing the wrong keyboard keys. Let us play the correct melody to guide them.
Robin: Follow my rhythm now, six, seven, eight...
A splendid voice blankets all cacophonies — it is as if the world has gone completely silent in the moment.
Robin: Our wishes... are coming true little by little. Isn't that right?
Robin: ...
(Exit call)
The sound on the phone vanishes, only to be replaced by a pregnant pause of silence.
You can't begin to imagine Robin's feelings when she awakens from the dream, only feeling an empty, heart-wrenching sensation in your chest that is [sic] steadily spreads out.
