Investigations
Ruan Mei's Projection
- (Investigate terminal north of the Distribution Center Space Anchor)
Investigate- This terminal is equipped with ultraremote sensing technology. There is only one person in the contact list: Ruan Mei.
- Will Ruan Mei really take your call? You're a little curious.
Send a call request to Ruan Mei.
- A blurry projection materializes in front of you. You seem to have come across this woman's portrait somewhere at the space station.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Hello, my name is Ruan Mei... I'm not one for introductions. It's nice to meet you.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: I have already ventured to a deeper and more mysterious corner of the universe, where communication is difficult. It depends on luck whether you can reach me.
- A cold electronic voice notifies you, "You have been transferred to the automated response system. Please press the communication key to make your selection."
(Press the Communication I button.)
- (Proceed to a random set of dialogue)
(Press the Communication II button.)
- (Proceed to a random set of dialogue)
(Shut down the terminal.)
- Ruan Mei's Projection: The research is still ongoing. Drop me a line if you need anything.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Bye.
Forget it. Let's not disturb her.
- (Dialogue Set #1)
- Beep... Beep...
- A cold electronic voice notifies you, "The user you are calling is out of the service zone."
- The call doesn't go through.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: The research is still ongoing. Drop me a line if you need anything.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Bye.
- (Unlock Achievement Out of Service Area)
- (Dialogue Set #2)
- Beep... Beep...
- Luckily, the call goes through.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Hello. People rarely dial this number. Are you a member of the Genius Society? Or a space station researcher?
Do you remember me?
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Oh. Of course, (Trailblazer). I remember your smile, fear, temperature, and eyes.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: I remember all the snippets of memories we shared. Tiny details that flow like little streams make up the world.
I seem to have forgotten something about us.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Hmm... Is that so? (Trailblazer), it seems that the Anti-Truth Serum is working.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: At this stage, you'll get to savor its base note. It's smooth and sweet, isn't it? That's what I'm hoping for you to experience.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Don't worry. The bad stuff will fall into slumber, and then we can create a new story. There's no need to feel regret or sorry...
Will I see you again?
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Hmm... Did you make this call to get the answer to this question?
- Ruan Mei's Projection: We'll meet again, if you wish. It's because... we have new stories to create.
That's all I have to ask.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: The research is still ongoing. Drop me a line if you need anything.
- Ruan Mei's Projection: Bye.
Stack of Boxes
- (First interaction)
- Main articles: The Lord of Iron Throne and Hand of the King
- (Subsequent interactions)
Investigate- What kind of person would leave a Life Incubator on a pile of junk like this?
- So, it was you after all. You recall an episode featuring the Insighter here and your mind automatically relaxes.
- Your gaze at the throne subconsciously softens. This is a little secret between you and the Insighter, and you bury it away somewhere in a warm, fuzzy corner of your heart.
Large Display
- (Investigate any of the large screens in the shuttle area, southwest of the Pharmaceutical Room Space Anchor)
Investigate- (If the player's active character is short)
-
- You stand on tiptoe, trying to read the data and theories on the screen. Yet, within your vision exist only blank walls.
- You are left frustrated by those profound theories which seem unreachable by average people. The walls are blank, just like your mind when you are spacing out. Your thoughts are drifting away...
- Suddenly, realization dawns on you. Why make futile efforts to prove theories when you should in fact make the laws of the universe yield to you?
- (If the player's active character is tall)
-
- You thought you could easily read all the data and theories on the screen with your height. However, when you get to your feet, you find to your utter consternation how small you are.
- You are puzzled as to why the screen is hung so high up in the space station. At the same time, your thoughts begin to wander...
- You snap out of your boundless imagination and realize what you have peeked is merely the tip of the iceberg of the entire space station's theoretical results... The realization leaves you in awe of the space station.
- (After investigating with both a short and a tall character, unlock Achievement See the Forest for the Trees)
Advertising Bot
Herta's Manuscript Ad
- (First interaction)
- Main article: Never Updating
- (Subsequent interations)
Investigate- "Exclusive release with regular updates!" Information about the upcoming sale of Herta's manuscripts is silently displayed on the advertising bot.
- The network connection of the space station terminal has been fixed, but the repair of the advertising bot's audio system is nowhere on the agenda.
- You are starting to miss Herta's voice, and you wonder whether she can really manage "regular updates" for her manuscript.
Canned Product Ad
Investigate- "New product in the market! Everything can be canned!" An advertisement for a canned product is silently displayed on the advertising bot. Its audio system has yet to be fixed.
- You scrutinize the "Everything can be canned!" part of the advertisement and suspect it to have some association with the Joy Filtration Set Curio, since they are both about cans.
Eco-friendly Food Ad
Investigate- "Customize your eco-friendly lifestyle!" An advertisement for an environmental-friendly food product is silently displayed on the advertising bot. Its audio system has yet to be fixed.
- Noticing the Department of Ecology logo on the advertisement, you wonder whether you can get some samples of the product from their researchers when you return to the master control zone...
Plant Nurseries
- (First three interactions)
- Main article: Greenfingers
- (Subsequent interactions, standard dialogue)
Investigate- Leafy greens, which are considered repulsive and backwards foods on some planets, are a delicacy here.
- "Don't take this off!" A note by the Department of Ecology is attached to the metal frame.
- "This area is under surveillance. Look with your eyes, not your hands." Is this warning meant for you? Judging from the plants growing wildly in the cultivated field, the sign has been here for quite some time. Surely you are overthinking.
Incubator
- (Standard dialogue)
Investigate- The Department of Ecology keeps the grown plants in low-temperature, dry, and airtight containers to ensure long-term preservation and vitality.
- The plants in the incubator look familiar, as they closely resemble an advertising image of a food product from the IPC. You are amazed by the Department of Ecology's ability to rake in extra income.
- The plant incubator has been operating normally since the evacuation of the researchers.
Incubation Jar
- (Standard dialogue)
Investigate- Large green plants are grown in the incubation jar. You wonder whether they need to absorb starlight.
- Although the plants in the incubation jar are only germinating, they are already of a staggering size. You wonder how tall they can grow into.
- It seems that the odd plants are unable to absorb starlight. You lean in closer to the incubation jar for a closer look. To your surprise, you hear the sound of talking. You wonder if they might be the root of some chatty plants found within the space station.
Ruan Mei's Desk
- (Note: Disappears after the first interaction)
Investigate- (Molten Cheese Tart and Green Bean Paste teamed up with various creatures nurtured by Ruan Mei and wrote her a letter.)
- (Translation: "Walk your own path, Ruan Mei! We'll always support you!")
Monitor
- (Standard dialogue)
Investigate- After carefully reading the pop-up notification that reminds you to submit the weekly data report, you fumble for the button to turn off the screen but fail to locate it.
- Since the terminal network of the space station was fixed, more and more researchers have chosen to work from home. The long queues in front of some terminals can no longer be seen.
- With the extremely high resolution of the screen, every data label is clear. You start missing the era of low resolution.
Shuttle Display
Investigate- The still image on the screen appears to be the route map for the space station shuttle buses. Will there still be passengers for them to pick up? You doubt it.
Experimental Pod
- (Standard dialogue)
Investigate- The sealed cylindrical experimental pod is something you have only seen in movies.
- The sealed pod is used to conduct various biological research at the space station and was once used to isolate dangerous substances. You wonder what kind of stuff it has contained.
- You press your cheeks against its icy surface and peek inside, only to see your own reflection under the lights. You and the empty experimental pod gaze at each other.
Cryosleep Pod
- (Standard dialogue)
Investigate- The cryosleep pods, when not in use, are tools to maintain the image of the space station.
- Seeing the empty cryosleep pod, you suppose the researcher once inside has been properly accommodated.
- Unfortunately, fairy tales aren't a thing in the world of science, and you find no legendary Sleeping Beauty in the cryosleep pod.
Surveillance Monitor
- The overall station surveillance system has been operating normally since the evacuation of the researchers.
- A line at the bottom of the screen catches your attention: "System is waiting to be re-activated. Please update the iris information promptly."
F2 Balcony
- (Standard dialogue)
Investigate- As you look down, a strong sense of crisis creeps up your spine to the back of your head. You clench your fists in silence.
- You give the area below a scan. It is the most terrifying place in the entire seclusion zone, but you are not scared. Nothing can be more fearsome than yourself.
- Rumor has it that there are untold secrets hidden in the area below and mysterious monsters have been sighted. The more you think about it, the more you realize that this space station is not as "normal" as outsiders think.
F3 Desk
- (Standard dialogue)
Investigate- The genius' manuscripts are scattered here. Can one be a genius too if one can understand their contents? Your mind starts to wander...
- The genius' manuscripts are scattered over the desk. You try picking them up, but the pages won't budge. What kind of weighty knowledge do the manuscripts carry? You have no means to find out...
- The remaining pages of a manuscript are scattered all over the desk. In your opinion, the situation calls for a meowing desk cleaning expert. Will that sudden thought become your inspiration for research? You have no means to find out...
Memory Bubbles: Breeding Ground
- (after completing Trailblaze Mission Dawn, Shine at the World's End and reading the message from the Astral Express Family.)
Memory Bubble: Lygus
Main article: Memory Bubble: Lygus
- Bubbles drift through the air. When you get close, you can dimly make out disconnected words, including... "Lygus."
Touch the Memory Bubble.- Welt: Based on Madam Herta's account, that Intellitron named Lygus has also been bathed in Nous's gaze. Having such an entity guarding Amphoreus will likely make our plans extremely difficult to execute.
- Herta: Fear not, I've come prepared. We'll fight magic with magic, and science with science...
- Herta: Beating machine brain with machine brain.
- Screwllum: I appreciate Madam Herta's confidence in me. But before we delve into this discussion, there's something I must ask.
- Screwllum: Madam Herta, did you actually enter the world of Amphoreus?
- Herta: ...
- Sunday: Mr. Screwllum means that the Amphoreus you entered, Madam Herta, might have been a cognitive barrier constructed by Lygus... similar to the power of Harmony?
- Herta: Manipulating my cognition without my awareness... that might be beyond even an Emanator of Harmony.
- Herta: Screwy, are you saying the world I entered... was just a firewall?
- Screwllum: Precisely. And I fear it wasn't a simple firewall at that.
- Screwllum: Amphoreus uses space as its first barrier. For Madam Herta, crossing this barrier is child's play.
- Screwllum: However, the second barrier... is time itself.
- Welt: That explains it. Madam Herta mentioned observing traces of the two Nameless in the world of Amphoreus, which appeared to be both residual memoria and data materialization.
- Welt: Which means that at various moments, (Trailblazer) and Dan Heng's paths have overlapped with Madam Herta's.
- Sunday: On the bright side, this at least confirms they landed safely and made some successful progress in their Trailblaze.

Memory Bubble: Lord Ravager
Main article: Memory Bubble: Lord Ravager
- Bubbles drift through the air. When you get close, you can dimly make out disconnected words, including... "Lord Ravager."
Touch the Memory Bubble.- Black Swan: Not long ago, Fuli's gaze swept across Amphoreus. Combined with the intel Madam Herta gathered on this journey—
- Black Swan: Amphoreus might soon trigger the rage of a Lord Ravager.
- Welt: Lord Ravager Phantylia... We confronted her on the Xianzhou, and later gained some relevant information from her.
- Welt: I wonder if the destruction secretly brewing behind Amphoreus comes from renowned Overlords like Zephyro, Celenova, and Irontomb, or from one still unknown to the world, like Phantylia.
- Welt: Whichever one it is... when it erupts, countless lives will surely be lost.
- Herta: Hmph, when you look at it that way, Amphoreus might be a safety box. After all, three forces at the Emanator level or even higher — if they were to come to blows, it would be far more explosive than Chadwick's bombs.
- Welt: If that's true... wouldn't (Trailblazer) and Dan Heng be in extreme danger in Amphoreus?
- Sunday: In any case... we must reach them somehow.
Leave.- (Obtain Achievement Cloud Computing Resuming if all Memory Bubbles on the floor have been interacted with)
Memory Bubble: Chronocognitive Anchor
Main article: Memory Bubble: Chronocognitive Anchor
- Bubbles drift through the air. When you get close, you can dimly make out disconnected words, including... "Chronocognitive Anchor."
Touch the Memory Bubble.- Screwllum: To explore information inside the scepter, I once spent half an Amber Era creating a Chronocognitive Anchor.
- Screwllum: This is the gift I bring to you all. After implanting it into the Emperor's Scepter then, I secured a set of anchored temporal coordinates without compromising its shell.
- Screwllum: Even when a world's temporal flow is disordered, basic causality remains inviolable. In the smallest computational increments, time's flow still follows discernible patterns.
- Screwllum: Logic: If the firewall Lygus created for Amphoreus is similar to the Emperor's Scepter's self-defense mechanism, then the Chronocognitive Anchor should be effective against it as well.
- Herta: Oh Screwy, the last time I was impressed was when we built the Simulated Universe together.
- Screwllum: You flatter me, Madam Herta. It's just a minor invention — not satisfying to use but serves its purpose.
- Welt: While I still have some questions, Mr. Screwllum's gift will surely help us reach (Trailblazer) and Dan Heng.
- Screwllum: Premises: We have the temporal coordinates of those two brave Nameless, and the Chronocognitive Anchor actually works on Amphoreus.
- Herta: The first is easy. I've seen their residual memoria in the firewall, which work perfectly as reference points. As for the latter...
- Herta: Well, there's only one way to find out.
- (Obtain Achievement Cloud Computing Resuming if all Memory Bubbles on the floor have been interacted with)
Leave.
Memory Bubble: Emperor's Scepters
Main article: Memory Bubble: Emperor's Scepters
- Bubbles drift through the air. When you get close, you can dimly make out disconnected words, including... "Emperor's Scepter."
Touch the Memory Bubble.- Screwllum: In my long existence, I have certainly come across worlds that use space-time as barriers...
- Screwllum: Are any of you familiar with... the Emperor's Scepter?
- Herta: A colossal system among Emperor Rubert II's collection of scepters, operated by antilife equations and created to simulate destruction scenarios for innumerable civilizations...
- Herta: Even amid the Scholars' Strife, when other scepters were depleted of computing power, none dared employ such ungovernable Erudition weapons — they were either sealed forever or cast into distant stellar abysses.
- Herta: Screwy, where did you come across such a sinister artifact?
- Screwllum: While exploring the origins of inorganic life across distant border stars, I found one that had escaped detection.
- Screwllum: Even though its operator had perished in "Self-Coronation," that scepter continued to function. Terrifying computational tides surged within it, yet not a single ripple escaped to the outside world.
- Screwllum: To protect its extrapolations from external disruption, the Emperor's Scepter secluded itself in a concave space and deliberately warped its internal time flow.
- Screwllum: The world inside the scepter gradually descended into madness after centuries of extrapolation. When I attempted to peer inside, I nearly had my logical components disrupted by those insane data entities.
- Screwllum: Conclusion: Should that Emperor's Scepter's extrapolations run amok, it might instigate another calamity driven by inorganic life. Consequently, I devoted two Amber Eras to disable it from without.
- Screwllum: Deduction: Amphoreus's actual identity might be a lost Emperor's Scepter or similar Erudition construct, while Lygus may be its operator... or perhaps another Rubert hidden from the world.
- Screwllum: It's hard to imagine the madness within a scepter that has been extrapolating for over a hundred Amber Eras.
