Drip Marketing, referred to officially as Character Preview Segments,[1] is a community-derived term for official upcoming character introductions posted by HoYoverse. A character's Drip Marketing includes an image displaying their name, splash art, Combat Type, Path, and rarity, as well as a general introduction to the character with a quote and description.
Notes
While not an official term used by HoYoverse, it has been recognized in an official capacity on social media in the past.[2] Drip Marketing for new characters typically occurs two Versions before the character's release, starting on the first Tuesday after that Version's second phase Warp Banners begin at 12:00 PM GMT+8 (China Standard Time). However, this schedule can change based on extenuating circumstances, such as holidays or developmental delays (such as with Version 4.0). Only one character is dripped per day, with additional characters being posted at the same time on subsequent days.
