The Inverted City is a point of interest located in Nameless Ruins, The Chasm: Underground Mines, The Chasm, Liyue.

It consists of the ruins of Lang-Gan that remained underground after its destruction.

This location is initially blocked off by a barrier, which will be removed during Archon Quest Chapter II: Act IV - Requiem of the Echoing Depths.

Descriptions

"As I was traveling alone, I discovered this vast and terrible ruin. Perhaps this is all that remains of an ancient civilization that was punished and destroyed. This ancient city seems to resist the presence of any outsiders... It might even have something to do with those purple-black crystals, or that mud-like substance."
"I stayed for a time, but I had to leave its ominous, upended silhouette behind."

Lore

The Inverted City is the remains of Lang-Gan, a city that was governed by Zibai during the era of Teyvat's unified civilization. The city was corrupted by the Abyss following the war of funerary flame, and subsequently destroyed by the impact of a Celestial Nail sent to purify the corruption.[1][2]

Within the city is an upside-down pool, which weakens the effect of Dainsleif's curse when he is nearby. Dainsleif believes that the pool is also a relic of the more ancient civilization and is part of the city's structure.[3] Upon visiting ??? in Fontaine, the player can look through a crack in a wall to see the upside-down pool, though the altar below it is missing.
