Slothsheep in Need

Slothsheep in Need (unofficial name) is a Hidden Exploration Objective that takes place in Wavechaser Plain, Nod-Krai.

Start Location

Start the quest by talking to Vacarao at the northern entrance to Afterglow Cavern next to the locked Precious Chest.

Guide the Slothsheep across the bridge

Gameplay Notes

Completing this Hidden Exploration Objective rewards Common Chest ×1 and Precious Chest ×1.
While the Wonders of the World achievement The Shepherd is not exclusively unlocked by this Hidden Exploration Objective, most players will be able to unlock it in the process of guiding the Slothsheep to the correct location.

Dialogue

(Talk to Vacarao): Vacarao: How am I supposed to get that fellow out? This is giving me a headache...; Is there anything I can do?; Vacarao: Hm? Oh! A kind adventurer, what good timing.; Vacarao: Here's the thing. There used to be a tunnel here that led north, but it collapsed recently after some sort of anomaly with the kuuvahki.; Vacarao: Thankfully no one was hurt, but a traveling merchant from overseas claims his "companion" is trapped inside...; Vacarao: It's a Slothsheep he met and befriended around here. Stay in these parts long enough and you'll notice that Slothsheep usually follow people just to scatter the seeds they're carrying.; Vacarao: But no matter how we explained it, that gentleman just wouldn't listen. He insisted we find a way to rescue it.; Vacarao: To reconnect the path leading deeper into the cave, we'd have to use these Intricate Blooms. The problem is that I can't use the Frostmoon Scions' magic, and I don't have any kuuvahki devices strong enough for the job...; Vacarao: Luckily you came by. If anyone can get that Slothsheep out of there, it would be an adventurer like you, right?; Vacarao: I'll thank you on behalf of that gentleman.

(Talk to Vacarao again, optional): Vacarao: If anyone can get that Slothsheep out of there, it would be an adventurer like you, right? I'll thank you on behalf of that gentleman.

Find a way to guide the trapped Slothsheep out of the cave.

(Talk to Vacarao after guiding the Slothsheep across the bridge)

Vacarao: Wonderful. I knew you'd think of something!

Vacarao: Slothsheep can't live outside regions with kuuvahki, but at the very least, it might offer that gentleman a bit of comfort during his stay in Nod-Krai.

Vacarao: I'll take my leave now. Here's a little something to show our gratitude...

(The chests unlock)

Post-Quest Dialogue

(Talk to Vacarao near the Teleport Waypoint to the south of the start location)

Vacarao: There's been a lot of kuuvahki anomalies in the area lately. Please be careful.

About the Slothsheep from earlier...

Vacarao: Yes, I've already handed it over to that gentleman.

Vacarao: And I heard that not long after, the moment that gentleman tried to take the Slothsheep out of Nod-Krai, it turned into a lifeless seed.

Vacarao: So his play to bring it home to his country fell through as well.

Vacarao: If only he had listened to me, maybe things wouldn't have to end this way.

No worries.

Vacarao: All right. Please take care and stay safe.
