Overview

Being exposed to the Wild Hunt's influence at Kipumaki Cliff leads to the continuous accumulation of Abyssal Decay and the player will lose HP if not protected by an Oath Lantern. Their peripheral vision will also be gradually reduced.

HP loss from Abyssal Decay and the timer counting toward extended exposure will not pause while the player is engaged in dialogue with an NPC or an object.‍^{[ver­i­fi­ca­tion need­ed]}

Accumulation Rate and Modifiers

The base accumulation rate of Abyssal Decay at Kipumaki Cliff is Transcription missing% per second.

If the party has Nascent Gleam or Ascendant Gleam accumulation rate of Abyssal Decay is slowed by Transcription missing% and Transcription missing% respectively.

Depletion

Oath Lanterns

Sources of kuuvahki, especially Oath Lanterns, are the primary method for depleting the Abyssal Decay gauge.

Oath Lanterns reduce the Abyssal Decay gauge at a rate of Transcription missing% per Transcription missings (Transcription missing seconds to completely deplete a full gauge).

Many Oath Lanterns need to be activated by using a kuuvahki current, which can be created with Glimmerfruits, Mandragoras, Spireblooms, or Slothsheep.

Spirit Blooms

While within the shield of a Suffused Spirit Bloom, the player's Abyssal Decay gauge reduces at a rate of Transcription missing% per Transcription missings (Transcription missing seconds to completely deplete a full gauge).

A Spirit Bloom's shield will not crack as a result of exposure to "The Wild Hunt Lurks..." climate.‍^{[ver­i­fi­ca­tion need­ed]}

Teleport Waypoints

Standing near a Teleport Waypoint will cause the player's Abyssal Decay gauge to reduce at a rate of Transcription missing% per Transcription missings (Transcription missing seconds to completely deplete a full gauge).

Lightkeepers

Standing near an allied Lightkeeper NPC will cause the player's Abyssal Decay gauge to reduce at a rate of Transcription missing% per Transcription missings (Transcription missing seconds to completely deplete a full gauge).

Leaving the Area

When players leave areas that have a Abyssal Decay gauge, it reduces at a rate of Transcription missing% per second (Transcription missing seconds to completely deplete a full gauge).

HP Loss

HP Loss occurs while the Abyssal Decay gauge is full. It is unaffected by the conditions that increase and decrease the Abyssal Decay accumulation rate.‍^{[ver­i­fi­ca­tion need­ed]} The HP Loss only stops once the Abyssal Decay gauge is no longer full.

The active character will lose HP at a rate of Transcription missing% Max HP + Transcription missing HP per second.
