Dex (Exploration)
Last updated 2026-07-22
Dex is an exploration mechanic in Temple of Space.
The player can use Dex to interact with objects and defeat enemies, such as Maranasati Caskets or Segment-Domain Keepers.
Overview
Dex can manipulate Spacelike Vectors in the Temple of Space to move, rotate, distort and stretch objects. It can control or defeat Segment-Domain Keepers and Maranasati Caskets by seizing their cores. He can also fold special pages and restore spaces that were previously folded in the Mahavaipulya Chamber, restore spaces trapped inside paintings at Luyang Academy, and use quicksand in the Desert Pavilion to construct a variety of structures.
Dex can also move freely within the Apathic Interval traversing the surface made out of red cubes.

Tutorials
- Afar's Avian
At close range, Dex can also seize their cores directly, dealing massive DMG.
After seizing the cores, you have to quickly Tap within a short period of time to deal DMG to the Keepers.
- Books of Billions...
Within the Temple of Space, you can occasionally find special spaces that have been turned into pages.
At a certain distance, Dex can turn these pages, folding them halfway or folding them all the way in half to open gateways to other dimensions.
- Building Towers on Sand
In specific areas, Dex can seize objects made from quicksand, and deconstruct them into their original quicksand state. When Tapping again to release, new structures can be constructed.
- Extraordinary Relic Display Case...
A segment used to preserve Teyvat's cultural landscapes. Can be manipulated by Dex.
Drag Spacelike Vector(s) to the appropriate position(s) to stretch the display case permanently.
- Inked...
In the world within the painting, the spreading ink is a terrifying tide that can consume everything. Lingering within its reach will cause you to take continuous DMG.
- Malleable Platform
Within the Temple of Space, you will occasionally find platforms that can be reshaped with Dex's help.
While in their default state, these platforms can expand in multiple directions. However, once they are altered, they must be reset to their original shape before they can be transformed again.
- Maranasati Casket
Legends say they are the creations of another Ruling authority. These tomb-like constructs stand vigil over the Apathic Interval with tireless resolve, attacking all approaching life forms with cold impartiality. When their weak spot is exposed, Dex can take temporary control over them.
- Path Bridging: Horizontal
By manipulating Spacelike Vector(s), Dex can distort and stretch certain bridges in the Temple of Space horizontally.
- Path Bridging: Vertical
By manipulating Spacelike Vector(s), Dex can distort and stretch certain bridges in the Temple of Space vertically.
- Restoration Core
Within the Temple of Space, you can occasionally find Restoration Cores that store spatial manipulation data.
By reverse-engineering these cores, Dex can unfold and restore space that was previously folded.
- "Restoration Core" Apparitions
Within the Temple of Space, you can occasionally find Restoration Core apparitions that Dex cannot manipulate. If you flip through nearby pages to enter different dimensions, you might find the original forms of said apparitions...
- Segment-Domain Keeper: Organization Type
Dex can control the Keepers who transport various relics within the Temple of Space.
Drag the Spacelike Vector(s) to the appropriate position(s) to move the Keepers in the corresponding direction.
- Segment-Domain Keeper: Patrol Type
These Keepers will prowl through the Temple of Space and restore the Elemental Cubes that have been moved from their original locations. If they spot you while you are transporting the Cube, they will snatch the Cube and return it to its original position.
- Segment-Domain Keeper: Projectile Type
Keepers who specialize in throwing Elemental Cubes. They can quickly transport Elemental Cubes to different Keepers or directly into display cases.
You can project Elemental Cubes toward Transport-type Keepers or display cases of various sizes.
- Segment-Domain Keeper: Suppression Type
The Keeper who prowls within the Temple of Space and can turn living creatures into sand. Reckless trespassers who encroach on its patrol route will be attacked.
By constructing cover, you can avoid the Keepers' line of sight.
Approaching the Keepers from the back allows Dex to seize their cores directly and deal massive DMG.
- Segment-Domain Keeper: Transport Type
Within the Temple of Space, you will see the Keepers who are transporting these Elemental Cubes. They can only move along fixed trajectories.
When in an active state, these Keepers can swallow the Elemental Cubes.
- Spatial Dragging
In areas within the Temple of Space, after selecting an object within the temple, you can Hold and drag your Skill to drag that object along a Spacelike Vector. After dragging for a certain distance, maintain that distance for a while until the Spacelike Vector is fully charged. Release the skill button at this moment to trigger spatial folding and change the state of various objects.
You can control various objects in areas within the Temple of Space.
Some of these objects cannot be affected during Co-Op Mode.
- Spatial Dragging: Rotation
- The Unbroken Sea
- Wonderland in a Book
- World in a Painting
Within the Temple of Space, you will sometimes find paintings that have pockets of space sealed inside them.
By overlapping the image in the painting with the corresponding scene in reality, Dex can restore the space trapped within the painting and manifest objects from the painting into the physical world.
