Open-World Dialogue
Unless otherwise mentioned, all dialogue sets below become available after completing step 5 of the quest A Commission From the Curatorium of Secrets.
Ati, Neb and Raya's booth
Ati
- (Talk to Ati)
- Ati: I really should take a walk around if I get the chance and look for some deals on household goods...
- Ati: Clothing, crockery, bedding... Maybe there's a steal waiting for me somewhere?
Neb
Raya
- (Talk to Raya)
- Raya: Look at the crowd here! And so many new and interesting things...
- Raya: If only everyone could get along with each other and there wasn't so much arguing...
Beidou's booth
- (Talk to Beidou after completing The Infamous Merc Captain)
-
- Beidou: (Traveler)? Is that you? Do you want to try out some cutting-edge warfare? Just remotely control the Guizhong Ballista and rain down a nasty surprise on those monsters from above!
I'm ready.
- Paimon: Whoa! Paimon's going to give this 110%!
- Beidou: That's the spirit! Give it your all, and give those monsters a good blasting!
- (Opens Fire Support Assault minigame interface)
About the Alcor 2...
- Paimon: You mean Beidou's big shiny new ship? Paimon hasn't seen it before!
- Paimon: You must've been building the Alcor 2 for ages — it must be the most powerful ship in the world by now!
- Beidou: Haha, she's definitely one of the most formidable civilian ships out there, but if we're comparing her to the battleships of Liyue, Fontaine, and Snezhnaya, well... I'm not so sure.
- Beidou: Besides, strictly speaking, she's the second ship of the Alcor-class, and the second-biggest in the fleet. We haven't even named her yet.
- Paimon: Huh? You haven't given her a name? Why not?
- Beidou: Well, that's quite the story, actually — battleships are usually given a naming ceremony when they're first launched. But the "Alcor 2" sort of skipped the queue a bit.
- Beidou: We launched her on the same day as another ship — a supply ship — and considering her rather special purpose, we decided to keep things low-key and do away with the naming ceremony altogether.
- Beidou: Then, after she was fully outfitted, she sailed straight out to the open ocean. She was only back in dock long enough for us to verify her new propulsion system was working as planned before we took delivery of another set of new equipment, and she headed back out to sea. It's been quite the journey so far...
- Beidou: Prior to this latest voyage to Nod-Krai, we hadn't even officially announced her existence. So, we've been calling her "No. 2" all this time, and the name's started to stick!
- Paimon: Paimon feels kinda sad for her, just being called "No. 2"...
It sounds like a code name from a spy story...
You should give her a catchy name.- Beidou: Agreed. In fact, we're hoping to name her when she makes her official debut at the trade expo.
- Beidou: I'll be doing my best to come up with something that fits her stature! Any suggestions would be more than welcome...
We need some time to get ready for another round.
- Paimon: Yeah! We're still getting used to this new type of fighting, so we need to work hard to prepare!
- Beidou: I understand. I look forward to seeing you two in action!
- (Condition missing)
-
- Beidou: With Yelan and that lady from the Curatorium of Secrets on the case, everything should be fine. Not to mention, the crew has been fully briefed, and we have contingency plans in place...
- Beidou: Oh, you're back! Does this mean everything's taken care of and I can rest easy for now?
Everything went down without a hitch. How about we continue the drill?
- Paimon: Paimon has a feeling there'll be progress on that end soon! Now, let's get some practice in — who knows when we'll be called on to beat up some more baddies!
- Beidou: Looks like you enjoyed yourself with the Guizhong Ballista... And you're right — we'll get through this like we always do, there's no reason to fret.
- (Opens Fire Support Assault minigame interface)
About the Alcor 2...
- (Same dialogue as before)
We need some time to get ready for another round.
- (Same dialogue as before)
- (Talk to Beidou after completing step 1 of Return Home, Children of the Desert, interchangeable with Beidou's first dialogue)
-
- Beidou: Phew... Thanks to you two, everything's finally settled! This Nod-Krai trip certainly wasn't without its drama, but it's left me feeling thoroughly refreshed nonetheless.
- Beidou: So, now you've witnessed the mid-air interception capability of the Guizhong Ballista, whaddaya think? Really gets the blood pumping, right? How about another round against enemies on the ground?
Let's do it!
- Paimon: Woohoo! Blasting enemies with the Guizhong Ballista is so much fun, Paimon could happily go another seven or eight rounds — at least!
- Beidou: That's the spirit! By now, you must feel like you're one with the Guizhong Ballista. Just let rip!
- (Opens Fire Support Assault minigame interface)
About "No. 2"...
- Paimon: Hey, Paimon seems to remember Beidou saying that the new Alcor ship hasn't been given a name yet?
- Beidou: Well, I've been toying with a couple of ideas...
- Beidou: If the Alcor is meant to be the downfall of every miscreant and monster she meets...
- Beidou: Then No. 2 should be the vanguard that brandishes a sword to stop them in their tracks.
- Beidou: I thought the name "Alkaid" might fit. Inspired by a dim variable star I spotted with my astrolabe, it lies at the very end of its constellation — the tip of the sword, if you will.
- Paimon: It's certainly very imposing... Paimon can imagine it striking fear into the hearts of all the bad guys who hear it!
- Beidou: Or, we could go another route — this time, we managed to repel the miscreants' attacks with No. 2's on-board weaponry, maintaining justice and order as a result.
- Beidou: So, another option is "Alioth," meaning "Star of Justice."
- Paimon: That's a great name, too! Very... noble! Paimon thinks both names have their charm... Ooh, it's just so hard to choose!
- Beidou: What do you think, (Traveler)? Which name do you prefer?
I prefer the name that focuses on striking first and vanquishing your foes.
- Paimon: Yeah... Seize the initiative and strike hard before they know what's hit 'em... that's your style for sure!
- Beidou: Great minds think alike! There's a saying that goes, "prevention is better than cure." Alright, "Alkaid" it is!
I prefer the name that focuses on standing fast and upholding your principles.
- Paimon: Yeah! The reason we fight is to keep everyone safe and happy.
- Beidou: You've got a point. Thinking about it, "Alcor" is already intimidating enough. Pairing it with the "Star of Justice" strikes a really great balance.
- Beidou: Alright, then! Let's go with (Traveler)'s suggestion and give No. 2 her brand new name!
- Beidou: Come hang out onboard when you're free. Take the chance to get to know the crew better — you'll love them!
- Paimon: We will!
Sounds wonderful. But we've still got a few other places to see first!
- Paimon: Now there's nothing left to worry about, you can just take care of whatever comes your way with ease!
- Beidou: I sure can! I look forward to your next visit!
Clorinde
- (Talk to Clorinde after completing The Top Dog of the Criminal Underworld)
- (Condition missing)
-
- Clorinde: (Traveler), Paimon, hello there. How wonderful to run into you here in a faraway land...
- (Condition missing)
-
- Clorinde: (Traveler), Paimon, hello there. You two look like you could do with a pick-me-up...
- Clorinde: ...Would you like some coffee?
Sure, I'll have a cup!
- Paimon: So nice of you to offer, Clorinde!
- Paimon: Whoa... Coffee brewed by the Champion Duelist. If this were Fontaine, Paimon's sure only the creme de la creme would be able to enjoy such an honor!
- Paimon: Hey, if you branded this and sold it at coffee shops, you could make a fortune!
- Clorinde: That's very kind of you to say, Paimon, but it's just a cup of coffee.
- Clorinde: I was going to brew some for myself anyway, as I was getting a little sleepy minding the booth. Besides, I wanted to offer (Traveler) something to thank (him/
her) for the wonderful cocktails (he/ she) made me. - Clorinde: I had the honor of watching (Traveler) masterfully mix up some wonderful drinks, and it inspired me to try my own hand.
- Clorinde: So, after I got back to Fontaine, I headed to my favorite coffee shop and studied the basics of how to be a barista. I guess you could say I have a little experience under my belt now.
- Clorinde removes a collection of apparatus from her suitcase, before deftly whipping up three cups of coffee...
- Paimon takes a sip, and her eyes open wide like saucers. She gulps the rest of the coffee down. You seem to discern a flavor profile quite unlike any traditional Fontaine coffee you've had before...
- Paimon: This is delicious — is that a sweetness hiding in the roasted flavor? Paimon usually finds coffee way too bitter, but this is perfect!
- Clorinde: Just as you might adopt a different stance when fighting a Tainted Hydro Phantasm instead of an Armored Crab, the same logic holds when making coffee for different people.
- Clorinde: For you, Paimon, I used a less bitter variety of coffee bean and added cocoa and sweetened milk to mellow the taste.
Mine has a fruity flavor...
Let me guess — you added apple and tangerine juice?- Clorinde: Spot on! I thought you might find your coffee more energizing with the addition of some sweet and sour flavors. It should give you some extra pep to face whatever trials the expo throws up.
- Clorinde: If I only added tangerine juice, it would have accentuated the tannins in the coffee. That's why I balanced it with apple juice. You look like you're enjoying it?
It's wonderful — a fantastic cup of coffee!
For an amateur, this really is flawless.- Paimon: Yeah! Paimon thinks Clorinde is already a pro!
- Clorinde: You flatter me, but real professionals know all sorts of fancy tricks and techniques. I don't see much need for me to put in the hours to learn that high-level stuff.
- Clorinde: I just need to know enough to brew myself a quick pick-me-up at home on the days I don't have time for a leisurely drink at a nice coffee shop.
- Paimon: That's such a Clorinde thing to say...
- Paimon: But Paimon totally gets where you're coming from. Not everyone's like us, running around learning how to do a million different things.
I'll pass this time.
- Paimon: Thanks so much, Clorinde! We'll go check out the other booths first and leave you and Navia in peace!
- Clorinde: Alright. But we're not particularly busy, so feel free to come by if you need a rest.
- (Talk to Navia after completing The Top Dog of the Criminal Underworld)
- (Condition missing)
-
- Navia: My dear partner, and dearest Paimon, how about testing the latest invention? It's a masterpiece of Fontainian technology, endorsed by the Spina di Rosula and built using theoretical foundations provided by the Fontaine Research Institute!
- (Condition missing)
-
- Navia: Although we did encounter a rather unpleasant surprise, our booth should be fine for now... Would you like to continue your duel with the Pneumousia Barrage?
Bring it on! I'm on fire!
- Paimon: Oh yeah! Let's see what these Pneumousia mechanisms are capable of!
- Navia: Wonderful! Get ready and remember to have fun!
- (Opens Pneumousia Barrage Countermeasure minigame interface)
Let's chat!
- Paimon: Ooh, Navia, you haven't visited Nod-Krai much before, have you? Why don't we show you around?
- Navia: I've spent a little time here, at least enough to visit every shop in Nasha Town with Clorinde.
- Navia: It feels like the goods here all have a unique, untamed energy to them — it's something you don't really find on the streets of Fontaine.
- Navia: Ordered and intricate might be pleasing to the eye, but sometimes it can feel like there's something missing — a certain je nais se quois that the chaos of Nod-Krai has in spades...
- Navia: Like one of those Sumeru vases that open up like a flower when you tap them, emitting light and a fine, cooling mist. Or a pillow with a built-in music box that soothes you to sleep...
- Paimon: Paimon thinks she gets what you're saying. It's like... things become more interesting when they do something unusual, right?
- Paimon: Well, Paimon completely agrees! Mhm... Compared to something tried and tested — even if it is pretty — it's way more fun to try something new!
Speaking of which, where did you buy these?
I haven't seen anything like them on sale in Nod-Krai...- Navia: Really? If you take a left after leaving The Flagship, it's just down the hill. I figured you'd be regular customers!
- Navia: The tiny lady who runs the shop is so sweet — she gave me a 20% new-customer discount! I'll definitely take my friends from the Spina di Rosula the next time I visit.
I've got something else to do right now...
- Paimon: That's right. We'll drop by again when we're free!
- Navia: That's alright, you go do what you've got to do, then head on back, and we'll have some fun!
Dori's booth
- (Talk to Dori)
- Dori: Oh, hello, (Traveler)! Welcome!
- Dori: I just so happen to have amassed a collection of valuable, interesting, and highly useful items for your perusal...
- Dori: And just for you, an exclusive (Traveler) discount, 50% off everything!
Fassbender's booth
- (Talk to Fassbender)
- Fassbender: These Nod-Krai ingredients are fascinating. Their properties are nothing like anything from Mondstadt. I really must find a way to...
- Fassbender: Oh, a customer, is it? Welcome... Please feel free to browse. I've just got a few things I need to take care of here.
- Fassbender: But please be aware, I can't sell you any alcohol if you're underage! Not even here in Nod-Krai!
Ineffa's booth
- (Talk to Ineffa after completing The Workshop Owner With a Sweet Tooth)
- (If the tutorial for Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots has not been completed)
-
- Ineffa: Hello, (Traveler)! And hello, Paimon! Welcome to the Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots booth. Would you like to experience the basic tutorial?
Tutorial? Sure, that sounds great...
- Ineffa: Wonderful. Loading tutorial now...
- Paimon: Whoa, a special tutorial? How thoughtful!
- Ineffa: Aino created this tutorial because she wanted people to not only gain a solid understanding of how the Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots work, but also to have a good time trying them out.
- Paimon: If Aino's putting that much thought and effort into this, she must really be proud of her creations...
- Ineffa: Please get ready. The tutorial is about to begin.
- (Starts subevent tutorial)
I still have things to do...
- Ineffa: Understood. Feel free to come back and continue with the tutorial at any time. I will be waiting for you.
- Paimon: See you later then, Ineffa!
- (If the tutorial for Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots has been completed)
-
- Ineffa: (Traveler), Paimon, welcome back. Would you like to continue your Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots experience?
I'm really feeling this, let's keep going!
- Paimon: Mmhmm! Looks like we've found ourselves a super fun way to practice arranging armies!
- Ineffa: In that case, please get ready. Initiating Simulation Assist Mode — simulated combat will begin shortly.
- (Opens subevent interface)
Can we run through that tutorial one more time?
- Paimon: Good idea! Paimon's already forgotten how to command those Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots...
- Ineffa: No problem. Please feel free to ask if there's anything else that requires clarification.
- (Starts subevent tutorial)
Don't you feel tired, Ineffa?
- Paimon: Yeah, this is such a big event, and it can't be easy running the Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots booth. Are you sure you can handle it?
- Ineffa: Analyzing visitor traffic data and comparing to previous events...
- Ineffa: Analysis complete. Based on variables such as venue size and total footfall, the level of visitor traffic at this booth is comparable to Moon-Prayer Night.
- Ineffa: Furthermore, on Moon-Prayer Night, I was also responsible for guiding the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop delegation and ensuring their orderly participation.
- Ineffa: In terms of complexity and level of control, the task of managing the Thwack 'n Smack Defense Bots booth fails to meet the threshold for a "highly difficult" classification.
- Paimon: That means you should be able to complete your assignment easy-peasy, right? Just so long as the visitors to your booth remember to behave themselves.
I hope you don't get any unpleasant visitors.
But if anyone does forget their manners, we'll be happy to give them a reminder for you!- Ineffa: Yes, it is a rather non-demanding task. And if all the visitors are polite, that will make me very happy.
- Paimon: You've got this, Ineffa! We're going to keep looking around!
- Ineffa: Understood. Take care. Initiating Standby Mode...
I'll stop by again later.
- Paimon: You've got this, Ineffa! We're going to keep looking around!
- Ineffa: Understood. Take care. Initiating Standby Mode...
Lakkaberry's booth
- (Talk to Lakkaberry)
- Lakkaberry: If... If I do manage to join the Order, I wonder what nickname they'll give me?
- Lakkaberry: "Savage"? "Fierce"? "Barbaric"? They all sound cool to me!
Liben's booth
- (Talk to Liben)
- Liben: Doing business this far to the north requires traveling a long way...
- Liben: That means acquiring a large quantity of goods in advance and transporting everything all in one go by Sumpter Beast or caravan... But what's likely to sell well?
Nkrumah's booth
- (Talk to Nkrumah)
- Nkrumah: Is this a tragedy or a stroke of luck?
- Nkrumah: *sigh* Guess I have no choice but to keep looking over my shoulder.
Wislawa's booth
- (Talk to Wislawa)
- Wislawa: Please do remember to take appropriate precautions and put on protective gear before using these in the field...
- Wislawa: Oh? (Traveler), I didn't know you were interested in vintage muskets?
- Wislawa: You're free to browse, but someone of your abilities really does deserve a newer, high-end, custom model... along with a dedicated gunsmith to keep it in tip-top condition.
Alcor-class No. 2
Fengyun
- Fengyun: Alright, we still have enough canned, dried, and frozen provisions. But seeing as we're near the coast, we might as well try to get some more fresh food...
Are you the ship's cook?
- Fengyun: Me? No, no, no. I look after the ship's stores and supplies. The cook's busy below deck.
- Fengyun: It's just too bad that all we have to hand is canned food and dried or frozen supplies. Otherwise, I'd have him whip you up a feast!
That sounds rough.
How do you have the strength to sail the seas without proper meals?- Fengyun: Well, it's not that bad...
- Fengyun: I heard that back in the day, sailors had to stick to a strict routine for their meals — once you left port, you'd eat the perishables first, then ration the rest day by day...
- Fengyun: ...Until all you had left were biscuits and bread so stale, it might as well be bricks. Now, that's rough...
- Fengyun: The preservation techniques we have these days are so much better! Our meals might not count as fine dining, but at least everything's reasonably fresh and nutritious.
- Fengyun: Switching out Cryo potions and Mist Flowers is a breeze compared to cutting the rotten bits off perishable food, at any rate.
- Fengyun: You know, back then, I didn't understand why the Captain was always sending people ashore to ask about the latest tech or spending huge sums of Mora to have the latest contraptions hauled aboard...
- Fengyun: But now, I totally get it. I'll never doubt her judgment again!
I'll leave you to it, then. Bye.
- Fengyun: Alright... Hit me up beforehand the next time you drop by for a meal!
Gongmiao
- Gongmiao: This voyage has been a profitable one, I must say... And the work's been easy to boot!
What are you mumbling about? Did I hear something about profit?
- Gongmiao: Ah, the Captain's esteemed guest! There'll be no harm in talking to you...
- Gongmiao: I'm the ship's clerk. My job is to keep track of what we spend and what we earn. Once everything's tallied, I divvy up the profits and give each crew member their share on the Captain's behalf.
- Gongmiao: We took on an escort job for this Nod-Krai voyage — seeing as we were sailing here anyway. It brought in enough to cover our previous expenses.
- Gongmiao: Plus, we loaded hundreds of crates of goods before leaving — there are boxes of high-quality ores and textiles. We'll find someone to sell them for us when we dock in Nod-Krai.
- Gongmiao: I wonder how much Captain Beidou will make...
- Gongmiao: A steady stream of income is what the fleet needs to keep growing. If things go smoothly in Nod-Krai, we could find ourselves making more runs there in the future!
I wish you every success. Goodbye!
- Gongmiao: Thank you, and the same to you!
Huoxiang
- Huoxiang: Good day, (Traveler). Officer in charge of surface warfare and land-attack support, at your service!
That's quite the job title...
- Huoxiang: It perfectly encapsulates what I do! Captain Beidou has entrusted me with two areas of responsibility. The first is surface warfare, which involves overseeing all of our operations against monsters and pirates on the open sea.
- Huoxiang: The second is to control the improved Guizhong Ballistae to fire specific ammunition according to the signals we send. When intercepting airborne targets, I'll need to select firework trackers in different colors to assess the damage.
And my job is to tell you where to shoot...- Huoxiang: Yes, once you transmit a signal from the battlefield, I'll fire the ballista from the deck.
- Huoxiang: And the surveillance device you'll be shining on the target is deployed from a separate round launched high above the battlefield. It requires time to prepare — and the window it can remain airborne isn't very long.
- Huoxiang: Of course, right now, this method is limited to single-vessel combat. After all, the Crux isn't intended to face off against entire hordes of monsters in fleet-based operations...
- Huoxiang: Apparently, for particularly demanding missions, the Millelith deploys another kind of surveillance device that's capable of remaining airborne for an entire day, allowing them to keep enemies suppressed with remote fire continuously...
- Huoxiang: Not that I can imagine an enemy that would call for that level of firepower... Neither is it something I'd be eager to see.
I'll leave you to it. Keep up the good work!
- Huoxiang: Thank you! I'll do my best!
Seahawk
- Seahawk: The nearby waters appear calm for now... No signs of monsters or pirate activity detected.
Are you on lookout?
- Seahawk: That's right. I'm the intelligence officer aboard this ship. It's my job to collate information from various sources to help better inform our operational decision-making.
- Seahawk: Before we set sail, I learned a fair bit about Nod-Krai, and it's left me worried about running into pirates. If that did happen, we'd probably have to sink them...
- Seahawk: Or... What if some dirty miscreant crept onto our ship under the cover of darkness to pilfer our supplies? Or even worse, rob us at gunpoint!?
- Seahawk: We're outfitted to be at sea long-term, so we have to manage our resources carefully. The upshot is we don't have a big crew — even minor boarding actions could quickly get out of hand.
- Seahawk: In fact, we ran into a group of pirates a few moons back — nighttime boarding specialists. We took quite the beating before we thankfully managed to drive them off...
- Seahawk: We've identified a whole host of dangerous elements to watch out for in Nod-Krai, but for whatever reason, they all seem scared to mess with this event.
- Seahawk: I can only assume the measures put in place by the organizers are working! I wonder if Captain Beidou has had the chance to talk to the person in charge about teaming up... Long-term partnerships are always a boon to have!
(He seems very focused. I should probably leave him to it.)
- Seahawk: The seas are calm and quiet... But that doesn't mean we can let our guard down.
Stone Stool
- Stone Stool: Well, I'll be, (Traveler), in the flesh — talk about my lucky day! I head out on deck to get some fresh air, and run straight into you...
Aren't you usually on deck anyway?
- Stone Stool: Me? No! I'm the chief engineer. I'm in charge of the ship's propulsion system, which means I'm usually cooped up down below.
Does that mean you're always working the oars?
That must be very physically demanding...- Stone Stool: Row? Hahahaha! Looks like our techs have done a fantastic job — it's not just outsiders who can't see how the ship works, even folks like you are in the dark!
- Stone Stool: The oars on Alcor-class ships serve a supplementary role. The main propulsion comes from mechanically powered paddle wheels on the surface and propellers beneath the water's surface.
- Stone Stool: If we ever run into a fast-moving monster like a Vishap, we'll need enough speed to either keep up with it or make a clean getaway. In a situation like that, it takes the paddle wheels and propellers to give us the power we need.
- Stone Stool: The oars on either side, which can be hooked up directly to the ship's propulsion device, are usually put to use in rough seas to provide torque, keep the hull steady, and make quick, sharp turns.
- Stone Stool: For example, a good while back, we ran into Beisht — even though the waves were pounding, we managed to keep the Alcor upright by running the oars in an alternating pattern.
- Stone Stool: Plus, when monsters get close and creep up on our blind spots, we can run the oars like weapons to keep them from reaching the waterline and climbing up onto the deck.
Like a flail!
That never occurred to me before...- Stone Stool: But of course, we still get good use out of our sails. When the winds howl above the raging seas, harnessing their power can really help us save resources.
Enjoy your fresh air!
- Stone Stool: Thanks! You take care of yourself!
Zhiyao
- Zhiyao: Ahoy there and welcome to No. 2, one of The Crux's very finest! It's always a pleasure to play host to the Captain's friends. Make yourself comfortable — mi barco es su barco and all that!
Why did you call it "No. 2"?
- Zhiyao: Aha, well, technically speaking, she's the second ship of the Alcor class. There are actually many ships much older than her in the fleet.
- Zhiyao: But, to keep things simple and help with organization, the Captain made a rule — all ships are numbered by their tonnage, biggest to smallest.
- Zhiyao: And by that metric, this beauty is comfortably "No. 2." A lot of our boys have been begging to serve aboard her since she joined the fleet.
- Zhiyao: But of course, with great honor comes great responsibility. No. 2 is slated to patrol the most dangerous waters where she's to keep the shipping lanes free from pirates and monsters.
I think I'll take a look around.
- Zhiyao: Of course, but try not to take anything apart — no matter how curious you get. And whatever you do, steer clear of anything dangerous. Do not go around hitting any ammo!
