Papago Hollow

The Papago Hollow, also known as the "Divine Maze," is one of the Six Great Hollows. It was the first Hollow that the Void Hunter "Joyous" navigated entirely on his own.[1][2]
Details
The Papago Hollow is located in the Outer Ring, and has numerous companion Hollows. It is a notoriously difficult Hollow to study and investigate, as its interior changes based on the most recent inviduals to enter it, ranging from lush jungles to stormy ports. It draws from the conciousness of those who enter it to achieve this, echoing their traumas and desires. This effect rendered investigations ineffective when done by multiple people at once. It also drains the strength of those who enter it. The energy it drains from people, both mentally and physically, coalesces within the Hollow's core.[3]
History
Papago Hollow was first navigated by Joyous, who was alive during the era of Eridu's founding. By going in with only "Sunbringer"'s prototype Bangboo, Joyous was able to mitigate some of the Hollow's effects, and fully navigated it. After this, Papago's ether activity dropped significantly, allowing more standard investigations, but this was suspended after Penny stole confidential data about The Creator and fled in to Papago, causing its activity to spike.[4]
After the appearance of Hollow Zero, Papago Hollow became connected to it and the other six Great Hollows.

Trivia
- Since each Great Hollow seems to reference a location or person who was associated with a labyrinth, the Papago Hollow is likely named after the Tohono O'odham people of Arizona & Sonora, previously called Papago by Spanish colonizers. They worship I'ithoi, a creator deity that is often depicted as the Man in the Maze, a labyrinth where a person travels through life and encounters the different moments that impact them.
