The Hvergelmir research institute was an organization in Snezhnaya focused on bio-alchemy and research of the Shadow Realm.
Profile
During expeditions into the Shadow Realm, the Belyi Tsar came upon a functioning life-preserving vessel holding an infant human girl, Aksinya, whom he took in.[1]
Inspired by the life-preserving technology, he later established the Hvergelmir research institute and entrusted it to Aksinya. Its goal was "To seek the stairway leading to the vacant seat in the court of the stars, a passage to a place where worry and sorrow would no longer trouble them ever again."[2] This was to be reached by engineering a "Proto Man" that would be the key to allow the Belyi Tsar to become the Primordial Human and change the world.[3]
The researchers undertook expeditions into the Shadow Realm and uncovered Hyperborean devices to further their research. When they found elemental energy-storing devices they took and modified said designs to produce firearms.[4] Koshchei as an alchemist experimented with creating articifial life led to the creation of the Aberrant Chimeric Monsters.[5]
The culmination of all of their research was the creation of the Eye of Graeae, the key needed for the Belyi Tsar to become the Primordial Human.[3]
