Murals within reflect Amphoreus' shifting skies, hinting at secrets long buried in starlight.
Eye of Twilight, also known as the Sky Castrum, was one of the city-states on Amphoreus.
Overview
The Sky Castrum was established by humans out of reverence for Aquila, the Titan of Sky. Within the city-state lies a Celestial Mural said to depict Aquila’s mood, capable of altering the weather of Amphoreus. The city-state was powered by golden magma.
The Sky Castrum was one of the most prominent and powerful city-states during the Era Bellica. Aquila, alongside the Sky Castrum, fought against Nikador, the Titan of Strife, in the Chrysos War. It was a formidable force, able to stand toe-to-toe with Castrum Kremnos itself.[1]
However, after the arrival of the black tide, Aquila began ascending into the skies to avoid it, steering clear of dark clouds and storms. This behavior sparked discord among the Skyfolk tribes, particularly between the Sunfolk and the Rainfolk. The Sunfolk interpreted Aquila's actions as divine favor, leading to the persecution of the Rainfolk.
Witnessing this growing conflict, Seliose the Daythunder Knight, along with her companions and her steeds, Solabis and Lunabis, challenged Aquila in a bid to end the strife between the two tribes once and for all. However, upon defeating Aquila and touching the Coreflame of Sky, Seliose learned of Aquila's cold indifference and loathing for humanity. When she saw the Skyfolk continue to persecute one another, even in her name, she lost all faith in humanity. She commanded her two steeds to serve as executioners, casting all but one of the Chrysos Heir Skyfolk into the golden magma that powered the city-state.
The city eventually fell into ruin, and Seliose, now fused with Aquila, chose to remain behind, awaiting the return of the one Skyfolk descendant she had spared on a whim. This unnamed Chrysos Heir was the ancestor of Hyacine.[2]
