Abilities

Light-Gathering
Possesses a charge bar with a maximum of 200 points. When hit by an element that does not match its current elemental alignment, or if hit by any element while it has no elemental alignment, the Prism Slime will gain charge equal to Attack GU × 3.75 if the hit applies its element or 3 points if it does not.

When the bar is full, the Prism Slime will drop 30 elemental particles and enter the Light-Gathering state, where it increases in size, gains more powerful attacks, but loses its elemental alignment and reduces all RES by 75%.

While in the Light-Gathering state, when cumulative DMG taken exceeds 11.667%/22.334%/35.001% of its Max HP, the Prism Slime will deflate once, decreasing in size and producing 8 elemental particles. The first instance of deflation can be triggered prematurely via Swallow, but this will not affect the DMG thresholds required to trigger the second and third instances. After deflating a total of 3 times, the Prism Slime will exit the Light-Gathering state and become paralyzed for 6 seconds, after which the charge bar is regained.
Inhale Slimes
In the open world, 1 slime of each of the 7 elements will always be found around the Prism Slime. The Prism Slime will immediately inhale these slimes when the battle starts, gaining 2 points of charge per slime inhaled.
Absorption
When not in the Light-Gathering state, periodically uses this ability to drain Energy, gain charge, and switch its elemental alignment to that of the current active character 5 times in quick succession. The change in elemental alignment will occur the moment the Slime finishes the ability, even if no Energy was drained.

The Energy drained and charge gained are based on how much Energy the current active character has, as follows:
  • More than 10 Energy: 20 Energy is drained, and 20 points of charge are gained.
  • 1 to 10 Energy: 10 Energy is drained, and 10 points of charge are gained.
  • Less than 1 Energy: No Energy is drained, and no charge is gained.
Special Energy cannot be drained.

Upon changing elemental alignment, gains a corresponding immutable aura (except for Anemo) and immunity to the corresponding elemental DMG.
Ram
Outside of the Light-Gathering state, rams into the player, dealing 30% ATK as Elemental DMG matching the current alignment.
Jumping Slam
Outside of the Light-Gathering state, jumps high into the air before slamming down at the player's location, producing different effects depending on the elemental alignment:
  • Cryo: The slam deals 36% ATK as Cryo DMG. Creates a cloud of mist that lasts for 5.5 seconds, dealing 3% ATK as Cryo DMG every 0.5 seconds.
  • Dendro: The slam deals 40% ATK as Dendro DMG. Shoots 4 seeds which pop into lingering toxic clouds, applying a poison status for 5 seconds to any player that passes through them, dealing 3% ATK as Dendro DMG every 0.5 seconds. If the seeds come in contact with Anemo, they will disappear. If the seeds come in contact with Pyro, they will explode, dealing 70% ATK as Physical DMG.
  • Electro: The slam deals 45% ATK as Electro DMG. Bounces for a second slam which deals 21% ATK as Electro DMG.
  • Geo: The slam deals 45% ATK as Geo DMG. Scatters 3 rocks, each dealing 25% ATK as Geo DMG upon landing.
  • Hydro: The slam deals 40% ATK as Hydro DMG. Scatters 4 bouncing bubbles, each dealing 15% ATK as Hydro DMG and trapping the player on contact.
  • Pyro: The slam deals 55% ATK as Pyro DMG. Scatters 4-5 fireballs, each dealing 15% ATK as Pyro DMG upon landing.
Bump
Used in place of Jumping Slam when aligned with Anemo. If the player is out of melee range, briefly inflates and shoots itself towards the player, dealing 45% ATK as Anemo DMG. Then, immediately inflates itself, dealing 25% ATK as Anemo DMG.
Swallow
Only used when the Prism Slime is in the Light-Gathering state and has yet to deflate in the current instance of Light-Gathering state. Approaches the player and swallows them. While swallowed, the player loses 3.5% Max HP every 0.3 seconds, up to 35% Max HP after 3 seconds. When the player breaks free or is released after enough time has passed, the Prism Slime will take True Physical DMG equal to 5% Max HP and deflate once, decreasing in size and producing 8 elemental particles.
Eruption
When in the Light-Gathering state, shoots out 5 consecutive waves of slimes of random elements, each dealing 39% ATK as the corresponding Elemental DMG upon landing. Each wave has a 18% chance to summon a slime of the corresponding element (except for Dendro with a 8% chance). Slimes summoned this way are limited to a count of 5, and will not drop any elemental particles upon being killed.
Charged Slam
When in the Light-Gathering state, spins rapidly before slamming down its body to produce 3 consecutive, expanding shockwaves, each dealing 100% ATK as Physical DMG. The shockwaves will also defeat any slimes summoned from Eruption on hit.

Description

Legend says that the first element was once dispersed like light through a prism, until the Creator high above separated it into seven forms. Only then did life upon the earth gain fixed substance and shape. Only here, in this corner of the moon, can elemental forms taken from the mortal world be steeped in flawless source-light, allowing them to retrace their origins and return to the primordial state in which all things were one. Perhaps the primordial light said to reverse destruction works by the same principle.

Trivia

  • The Prism Slime is the first Slime enemy to not have a landing indicator for its Jumping Slam attack.
