Tigerbane Bell

The Tigerbane Bell is an unclassified W-Engine.[1] It is a bell-shaped artifact created by the Tiger Thirens of the mountains outside Eridu.
Overview
The Tigerbane Bell can boost a Tiger Thiren's abilities by resonating with and catalyzing Ether. When inside a Hollow, it catalyzes the life energy of another Tiger Thiren, turning them in to an Ethereal in the process. However, it only works if the user is a Tiger Thiren, who must also have an Ether resonance that matches that of the victim. Non-Tiger Thirens and other species are thus unable to gain power through the bell, but they can still be turned into an Ethereal if a Tiger Thiren uses the bell on them.[1]
The W-Engine is shaped like an actual bell, and can be used as such, producing chime sounds. It has the trigrams for fire and thunder written along the mouth, and the character 寅 yín, representing the Year of the Tiger in the Earthly Branches, written in clerical script on the body.
History
The Tigerbane Bell was a weapon created by an ancestor of the Tiger Thiren Clan in order to replicate the power of the Void Hunter Weapons, however it was flawed in a way that those weapons weren't, requiring the user to devour other Tiger Thirens in order to use it.[2] Due to its cannibalistic and cruel nature, the bell was labeled as a "forbidden relic" and barred from use. Not long before the Fall of the Old Capital, there was an increase in Hollow related disasters around Eridu. The tiger Thirens often went in and out of the Hollows, making their lives much more dangerous. With the safety of their clan at risk, the subject of the bell was brought up again.
In order to prevent the elders of the clan from letting the bell be used, Grim Tiger and her companions set out on a trial to prove that the tiger Thirens didn't need the W-Engine's power to survive, and could do so with their own mettle. Grim Tiger was ultimately successful, and it was agreed that the bell should remain forbidden. Despite this, the tiger Thiren settlement was ultimately consumed by a companion Hollow of Hollow Zero during the Fall of the Old Capital.[1]
After the settlement's destruction, the Tigerbane Bell was believed to have been lost, but was actually recovered by a male Tiger Thiren. He used it multiple times to devour his own kin, including the martial artist and movie star Cang Huang, of whom he then assumed the identity. Shortly after Phaethon joined Yunkui Summit, Ju Fufu defeated the evil Tiger Thiren and handed him over to Public Security.[1] Though Ju Fufu was seen picking up the bell before apprehending the tiger Thiren perpetrator, the current status of the bell is unknown.
