Members of the Airspace Patrol come from all walks of life, yet officers at the rank of lieutenant and above are predominantly drawn from a storied noble lineage — the de L'Azur family.
The family holds no hereditary claim to military rank; their standing today is owed largely to a longstanding tradition of grooming their children in tactics from an early age. Most of the younger generation see enlisting in the patrol as a natural rite of passage, and to be born a de L'Azur means one must stand as an irreproachable example among their ranks.
