Official Introduction
It’s Mr. Lighter from the Sons of Calydon. I’ve heard that Lighter is known as the "The Champion" of the Sons of Calydon. But what does that mean?
"The so-called 'The Champion' means I'm the strongest. So, who's up for challenging me next?"
"Is anyone up for challenging the undefeated Champion?"

"I know, fainting at the sight of blood isn't very impressive for 'The Champion.'"

Profile
The "Red Scarf" and Champion of the Sons of Calydon, Lighter is an incredibly skilled fighter having experience from his time as a mercenary and underground fighter. Armed with an engine powered gauntlet, his duty is to fight the Champions of other biker gangs, a task he excels in, given he calls himself "the undefeated Champion."
According to Lighter himself, he is hemophobic, fainting from just the sight of blood. To counter this, he always wears a pair of sunglasses, which also help him manage an old eye injury from his fighting days.[1]
History
Lighter used to be a mercenary. He founded a company with other three mercenaries, Dane Driscoll, Nick Carmine, and Ratena Katherine, with Lighter as their leader. He became close with each member and their families, but due to his poor judgement, his comrades died, leaving Lighter as the sole survivor. Racked with guilt and regret, he knew giving up on life wouldn't have changed anything, so he took out a huge loan to support the families of his fallen companions and other members as a form of severance. Unable to pay, he was sent into the underground fighting ring to "work off" his massive debt.[2] In Lighter's own words, he was "like a zombie" during his time there, going from one opponent to the next. Notably, one of these fighters was Bellum, who proclaimed Lighter as his rival after he broke his twenty win streak.[3]
Things changed when Big Daddy, then leader of the Sons of Calydon, paid off Lighter's debt and took him in, since he was a "high-profile fighter" that rarely lost. At first, Lighter considered the biker gang to be just another boxing show, but over time he became close with all the members and genuinely wanted to protect them and not lose any more friends.[2] Billy Kid, the previous Red Scarf and Champion for the gang, was yet to leave the gang at the time, and Lighter still teasingly refers to him as his "Brother" and "Predecessor."[Note 1]

A custom-made gauntlet ordered by Big Daddy, paid for by Lucy, powered by a special fuel developed by Burnice, transported by Piper and tuned by Caesar. With a built-in engine that boosts Lighter's punching power, it makes his heavy punches unstoppable.
They originally planned to give me a pair, but you know, this is the Outer Ring, where things going smoothly would be the real shock. Still, just one glove is enough for me — more than enough...

In the Outer Ring, the Champion of a team refers to the one responsible for dealing with the opponent's strongest fighter in a gang fight, and they often need to participate in one-on-one duels. Their victory is crucial, as it brings glory and morale to the entire team.
"The Champion can perish, but cannot lose."
A red scarf is what identifies the Champion of the Sons of Calydon.
Even if the opponent doesn't know Lighter, they'll know who he is just from seeing that red scarf.
From what is currently known, Lighter is actually very low profile. He only steals the spotlight on the battlefield when he acts on his obligations as Champion.
Note: Lighter is the second Red Scarf of the Sons of Calydon. He teasingly refers to the previous Red Scarf as "Brother" or "predecessor."

Lighter was once the leader of a mercenary troupe.
After a certain accident, Lighter disbanded his group of mercenaries and ended up in serious debt. Lighter chose to fight in an underground arena to pay back what he owed.
Later, Lighter was discovered by Big Daddy, who paid a huge sum to hire him to join the Sons of Calydon and take Billy's previous position.

- Lighter was once a smoker, but his mercenary friends helped him drop that habit by giving him lemon candies instead.[4] He still keeps a flip lighter on his person.[5]
- Lighter's dog tags belong to the three mercenaries he worked with: Dane, Nick, and Ratena. It was all he could find of them after searching in the Hollow they disappeared into.[add trust event where this is mentioned]
- Lighter's last name was "Lorenz" in a previous phase of character development, according to the original texture of his W-Engine Blazing Laurel. However, this reference was removed upon the W-Engine's release, since him being called "Lighter Lorenz" had presumably been scrapped.
- Lighter's bike bear a striking resemblance to the BMW Boxer Engine bikes, notably the BMW R 18.
- Lighter shares the same Chinese voice actor, Zhang Pei (张沛), with:
- Lighter shares the same Japanese voice actor, Takahashi Hiroki (高橋 広樹), with Sugilite in Honkai Star Rail.
