Time Trial Challenge

Time Trial Challenges are an exploration mechanic that gives various rewards for completing the task within an allocated time limit. There are many variations of Time Trial Challenges and they may be completed solo or in Co-Op Mode.

There are currently:

17 Challenges in Mondstadt (excluding Dragonspine, Windrest Peak and the Temple of Space)
- Completing 5/10/15 of these grants the "Wind-Chasing Adventurer" achievement
47 Challenges in Liyue (excluding The Chasm and Chenyu Vale)
- There is a total of 48 if Travelers participated in the Lantern Rite event during Version 1.3
- Completing 10/20/40 of these grants the "Rock-Steady Adventurer" achievement
16 Challenges in Dragonspine
80 Challenges in Inazuma
- There is a total of 81 if Travelers participated in the Lost Riches event
- Completing 6/12/24 of these on Narukami Island, Kannazuka and Yashiori Island grants the "Lightning-Riding Adventurer (I)" achievement (max total is 35 or 36 if Travelers participated in the Lost Riches event)
- Completing 6/12/24 of these on Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island grants the "Lightning-Riding Adventurer (II)" achievement (max total is 29)
- Completing 5/10/12 of these on Tsurumi Island grants the "Lost Adventurer" achievement (max total is 16; included in this total are three challenges in the cluster of islands north of Tsurumi Island that houses the Moshiri Kara domain)
18 Challenges in Enkanomiya
- Completing 3/6/12 of these grants the "Kairos' Constancy" achievement
20 Challenges in The Chasm and The Chasm: Underground Mines combined
- Completing 3/6/12 of these grants the "Chasm Adventurer" achievement
- There are 5 challenges on the surface and 15 in the underground mines
160 Challenges in Sumeru
- Completing 10/20/40 of these in Avidya Forest, Lokapala Jungle, Ardravi Valley, Ashavan Realm, Vissudha Field, Lost Nursery, and Vanarana grants the "Adventurer of the Shimmering Woods" achievement (max total is 45)
- Completing 10/20/40 of these in Hypostyle Desert, Land of Upper Setekh, and Land of Lower Setekh grants the "Quicksand Adventurer (I)" achievement (max total is 52)
- Completing 7/14/28 of these in Desert of Hadramaveth grants the "Quicksand Adventurer (II)" achievement (max total is 37)
- Completing 4/8/16 of these in Girdle of the Sands grants the "Badlands Adventurer" achievement (max total is 26)
113 Challenges in Fontaine
- Completing 3/6/12 of these in Court of Fontaine Region, Belleau Region, and Beryl Region grants the "Waveriding Adventurer (I)" achievement (max total is 53)
- Completing 3/6/12 of these in Liffey Region and Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region grants the "Waveriding Adventurer (II)" achievement (max total is 30 but only 28, 27 if bugged, show up in the achievement screen)
- Completing 3/6/9 of these in Morte Region and Erinnyes Forest grants the "Waveriding Adventurer (III)" achievement (max total is 30)
63 Challenges in Chenyu Vale
- Completing 12/24/48 of these grants the "Jademound Adventurer" achievement (max total is 63, as includes Carefree Simulacrum trials, 1 Flighty Simulacrum trial, and 1 Elemental Monument trial)
33 Challenges in Nostoi Region and Sea of Bygone Eras
- Completing 6/12/24 of these grants the "Ancient Sea Adventurer" achievement (max total is 33, as it includes Washer Octopus and Swaying Eels in the Coral Reefs trials, also includes obtaining the Precious Chest by passing through 12 rings within the time limit located at the center of Initium Iani)
74 Challenges in Natlan
- Completing 3/6/12 of these in Basin of Unnumbered Flames, Tequemecan Valley, Coatepec Mountain, and Toyac Springs grants the "Ignited Adventurer (I)" achievement (max total is 17)
- Completing 3/6/10 of these in Ochkanatlan, Quahuacan Cliff, and Tezcatepetonco Range grants the "Ignited Adventurer (II)" achievement (max total is 11)
- Completing 3/6/9 of these in Ancient Sacred Mountain and Atocpan grants the "Fertile Ash Adventurer" achievement (max total is 14)
- Completing 6/12/24 of these in Easybreeze Holiday Resort grants the "Azure Isle Adventurer" achievement (max total is 32)
20 Challenges in Nod-Krai
- Completing 3/6/10 of these in Hiisi Island, Lempo Isle, and Paha Isle grants the "Moondust Adventurer (I)" achivement (max total is 13)
- Completing 5 of these in Ashveil Peak, Voidsea Outlook, and Wavechaser Plain grants the "Moondust Adventurer (II)" achievement (max total is 7, as one time trial challenge counts as 3)
37 Challenges in Windrest Peak and Temple of Space combined
- Completing 7/14/28 of these grants the "Adventurer of the Interstice" achievement (max total is 37, as some trial challenges count as 3)
5 Challenges in Dunanna Pit and the Frost Moon
- Completing 4 of these grants the "Moonmist Adventurer" achivement (max total is 5)
31 Challenges in Snezhnaya
- Completing 6/12/24 of these in Everfrozen Earth, Volkodlak Tundra, Flamefeather Valley, White Birch Snowgrave and Fellfrost Peak grants the "Chillwinter Adventurer (I)" achivement (max total is 31, as it includes Jack Frosts Time Trial Challenges)

Types

Aiming

Objective: Blow up X Exploding Barrel(s) / Bubble within X second(s)

Typically involves blowing up a number of far placed Exploding Barrels or bubbles within a time limit, most often with the use of a Bow character in mind.

Battling

Objective: Defeat all opponents within X second(s)

Typically involves defeating a set number of arduous opponents within a time limit, which may appear in waves.

Traversing

Objective: Collect X [Elemental] Particles within X second(s)

Typically involves collecting Elemental Particles scattered along a course within a time limit, which may include gliding sections or adverse terrain.

Time-Limited Challenges

1 challenge was available during the Lantern Rite event in Version 1.3. This challenge counted towards the Rock-Steady Adventurer achievement.
1 challenge was available during the Lost Riches event in Version 2.0. This challenge counted towards the Lightning-Riding Adventurer (I) achievement.
23 challenges were available during the Three Realms Gateway Offering event in Version 2.5. These challenges did not count towards the Kairos' Constancy achievement.
