Void Hunter Description

In the Agent menu, in place of a brief name most Agents have, Ye Shunguang has Void Hunter: Qingming Arbiter, which, if interacted with, gives the following passage.

The Void Hunters represent the highest honor and strongest force in all of New Eridu.
The mayor will bestow each of them a unique title before their name.
This title not only commends and represents their irreplaceable and impressive feats, but also immortalizes the resolve unique to each Void Hunter.

As for Ye Shunguang, her title is the "Qingming Arbiter."
This symbolizes the fact that Ye Shunguang is no longer constrained by, nor is a victim of, the Qingming Sword, but rather its master and is able to harness its power.
It not only cements the fact that Ye Shunguang holds dominion over the Qingming Sword, but also serves as a reminder to all that behind this honor lies an unrelentless and ongoing sacrifice.

Every time she slashes her sword, the sands of her memories silently fall.
Every time she shields another, her senses gradually fade.

This is the Qingming Arbiter of New Eridu.
She is no divine being, yet she holds unimaginable strength. Consequently, she also bears a burden so heavy that it stirs the heavens.

Thus, when you see the blinding flash of her sword streaking through the night, never forget:
That light represents the young lady's devotion and protection through self-sacrifice.

Profile

Ye Shunguang (commonly referred to as Xiao'Guang) is a Void Hunter, member of Yunkui Summit, the younger sister of Ye Shiyuan, and the Sword Keeper of the Qingming Sword, whom she has mastered its powers. Her only juniors are Belle and Wise, whereas even Pan Yinhu is her senior. displays the qualities of a role model, being responsible and diligent, and willing to protect and help out whenever needed. Many people look up to her because of this. Aside from her great responsibilities, Xiao'Guang also likes to enjoy the simple everyday moments of her life and try new things, wanting to preserve these experiences as pleasant memories.

Xiao'Guang's interests consist of osmanthus cakes, small animals, writing in her diary, and most importantly spending time with the protagonist. She has developed strong feelings towards them ever since they met, and wants to become closer with them.

Agent Details

Ye Shunguang is the Sword Keeper of Yunkui Summit's treasured Qingming Sword, a disciple of Yixuan, and the younger sister of Ye Shiyuan, as well as a swordswoman blessed with extraordinary talent.
She enjoyed a happy childhood until the fall of the old capital, when her parents lost their lives rescuing others, bringing all her happiness to an abrupt end.
From then on, she relied solely on her brother — up until Yixuan took them in, bringing them into Yunkui Summit. Later, she was chosen by the Qingming Sword, taking up the mantle and duty of Sword Keeper.

Rumor has it that the Qingming Sword's favor is less a blessing and more a kind of curse. Though it gives its Sword Keeper Void Hunter level power, it extracts a harsh cost — the loss of one's memories and five senses.
In order to subdue this side effect, Yixuan Shifu crafted a custom sword case for Ye Shunguang. It appears effective for the moment, but the true nature of the weapon is still shrouded in mystery.

She wasn't allowed to own toys, was constantly pushed to be mature, and made to undertake constant sword training... The weight of it all pressed down on her, and she simply had to accept it.
After an emotional outburst, she once fled the sect and wandered across Failume Heights — where you appeared and handed her a small packet of osmanthus candy, offering a rare moment of warmth.

Addition: her favorite pastry now is osmanthus cake, perhaps for this very reason.

The nickname "Xiao'Guang" comes from a traditional Chinese naming convention, typically used for younger individuals or those of lower professional rank, with the character 小 Xiǎo, "little", combined with either the last character of a person's given name, or the person's surname.
Similarly, the nickname "Guangguang" comes from a similar tradition, which instead duplicates the last character of a person's given name.
Though her Thiren species remains unconfirmed in-game, Ye Shunguang's design is visually linked to the Bai Ze, a mythical creature in ancient Chinese legend that knows all beings and spirits in the world and has the ability to ward off evil spirits.
- The Bai Ze has varying appearances in different literatures, but it is always described with a horn on the top of its head, much like Ye Shunguang's white-haired form in her Enlightened Mind state.
- In the game, an ancient prophecy related to the Qingming Sword describes its wielder, implied to be Ye Shunguang, as a 白泽/白澤 Báizé.^[1]

Etymology

叶瞬光 Yè Shùnguāng is a name that observes Chinese name structure of monosyllabic surname + bisyllabic name. Her surname, 叶 Yè, means "leaf"; Given that the developers's official interpretation of her name is 即使只是瞬间的光芒，也要将黑夜给点亮 "Even just a momentary flash of light can light up the darkest night",^[2] her given name, 瞬光 Shùnguāng, could be translated as "ephemeral light", from 瞬 shùn, "to wink, to twinkle", with the meaning of the compound 瞬间 shùnjiān, "in the blink of an eye", and 光 guāng, "light".
In Chinese, most things tied to her have thus the character 光 guāng, "light" in their name as a play on words:
